  1. Look at Hot Rod pickups...Dave Walsh of Eternal Guitars owns & makes them at his workshop on the edge of Chichester. He has the old Wizard pick up machines.
  2. Try Pyramid flats...you'll never look back 😊
  3. Yes I understand that the new version does come with a certificate. I contacted Thomann about this. Therefore yours must be a few years old. Did you buy the bass through Thomann and how old is it as you don't say in your advert?
  4. Does the bass come with a certificate?
  5. It a Japanese model not American
  6. Wow...do they go for this price these days ??????? GLWTS
  7. I've had one for 7 years and absolutely love it. It sounds great through an AER or Mark Bass set up and even better with a pre in-line 👍
  8. I think You need to do your research more thoroughly and the impact implications of what you say .....
  9. I bought a 60s P-bass, as I'd had different year versions from the 80s onwards. I just found my self in a situation, about 11 years ago, where I had the time to look (time off work recovering after an opp at home), the gig money stored up wondering what to buy ...and then there it was. A 1961 players P, all original. I checked it out, all hung together and played beautifully....since then I have bought a Spitfire Scratch plate for it, the original was doing the usual shrinking thing and had it pinned to a piece of wood, and a new period case....love it
  10. Would you be able to do a ' gentle roll' on this neck if I were to buy it off of you? Pete
  11. Hi, Are you edges rolled by any chance? Thanks
  12. I have one on my '61 - they are the best available, expensive but can't be beaten for quality....glwts
  13. Me too...I have one I bought in 1985 with a fibreglass cad and flightcase. Gigged it lots then bought a Jazz in 1997 and virtually retired it - I've left it to an ex-girlfriend my will 🤣🤣🤣
  14. They were designed in the 1970s came to our attention in the 80s when Rotosound Round wounds were the string of the day. Most recordings on a Wal were made with them on and that's how their reputation was forged.... however, times change and since Pinos flat wound bass playing influenced Voodoo album appeared, over 20 years ago, flats seem to be the go to and won't chew the frets or neck up as much....love flats, tapes and rounds on my basses ....= buy 3 Wals 🤣🤣🤣👍
  15. Yes, it does look similar though I always thought he used the SB1000
  16. Thanks fir the comments - the ParcelForce 48 made me chuckle Pete
  17. My account on YouTube is Peter S...there's quite a few videos on there but you should find them - about 4 - easily enough
  18. I have 2 Japanese UV70's (A Black and a Natural - both with maple necks) love them both so much I haven't played my 61P, 66J or my 84 WAL out since I got the first one 8 years ago...I much prefer the tone, playability and overall general feeling of these. If you get the chance to play/buy a UV70....don't hesitate - after a few days the penny will drop and you'll be saying to yourself, why didn't I pull the trigger years ago......after all, it's what all the modern Super Jazz's have been moddled on for years
  19. Hi, I had 26 basses until the latest cull where 8 ( including a JV Squire p- Bass) went. At 62 the Thunder 1a came out around the time I started playing but got something else instead... always loved the look, feel n sound of them....it's still for sale, but in current in Gatwick North Terminal waiting for a plane to Egypt for a week so won't sell on here this week😁🌞🌞🌞🐪🐪🐪
  20. Thank you The Greek...very nice gesture...I'll buy you a beer one day...maybe 2😀👍
  21. I have 2 of these - natural and black...both stunning to play and wonderful active modern and useable passive tones....you shouldn't sell it - you might regret it🤣
  22. It's just the thickest 3"padded strap I could find and I went into a fishing shop and got some weights - easy really 😁👍
  23. According to the Aria website it was born May 1984.....
  24. For some reason the site doesn't like my Oppo phone. It won't load picture as from 2 of the basses im selling Westone Thunder 1A and this Aria. Yet on my iPad the Fender Jaguar Reverse 3 TSB was fine. Lesson - use the iPad. I'll try and get some more photos of both basses up through my iPad tomorrow...thanks for your help 👍
