  1. Dincz that sounds like it could be a good solution.. Do you find the preamp allows you to get away from the scooped mids of the BDI21?
  2. I do like the versatility it offers you in terms of swapping things around.. and the general ruggedness of a rack case compared to a standalone head! all our instrument cables are made from van damme tour cable with genuine neutrik connectors by our guitarist and he makes all the speaker cables with neutrik connectors too.. not sure on cable though its hefty stuff though!
  3. I have just found one on eBay.. (the MPX1 that is) How would you describe it dincz?
  4. I had the idea luke, I've posted there previously but nothing of interest popped up unfortunately! maybe my luck will change!

  6. I've used a SVP-Pro before.. I did like that but struggled to find one since which is pretty upsetting..I'll have a look on eBay at some of the ones you have suggested. I just wish that the Aguilar Tonehammer was in a rack format as it does seem very me.. haha
  7. I currently have a Yamaha P4500 which I'm borrowing long term of a friend.. I use this with a line 6 bass floor pod.. it's a good setup but slightly cumbersome so i'd like a fully rackmounted setup.. The amount of rack preamps on the market is pretty dire... all I can see is the Sansamp RBI and BBE.. theres a few others that have astronomical price tags but they're not for me! I'm pretty clued up on power amps but I can't for the life of me find a reasonable preamp... I dont wanna go the full multi-fx/amp modelling route as I want to simple it down slightly and give me less options as i'm fed up of going through 20 mediocre amp sims when i'd rather have one very good amp! I'm a 3 piece rock band.. we do mostly 70s covers including classic + glam rock plus our own material.. so i'm looking for something that can fit in to that.. I'm using two genz-benz focus 410 cabs.. I like to have a sound with a tiny bit of dirt in it.. nothing too crazy though.. so people of BC.. what can you suggest? thanks
  8. Just sold off my Marshall VBC412 as it was far too wide and far too heavy for my likings! Ordered a pair of Genz-Benz FCS-410T cabs from GAK for the measly sum of £440... quite chuffed I might say. Looking forward to going back to a ported design as i've missed my large low end! Will post pics tomorrow maybe even a sound clip
  9. Epiphone valve juniors get a lot of praise and are very mod friendly! and you should be able to pick em cheap enough
  10. If you wasn't about 400 miles away I would've took this and ran by now!

  21. Just picked this up today for a princely sum of £50... It was in pretty bad nick when I got hold of it the girl who had it had it given to her about 10 years ago and it hasn't been used since! You could tell there was a layer of dirt and dust over the body and fingerboard... which I magically cleaned off and it needed a new battery! Here are the pics! 22. Thanks a lot for the help! Itching to get my hands on it haha! what benefits does the active circuitry have for tone on this if you remember?
  23. Just picked up one of these for £50 you can see it in the attachments! As you can see it has 3 different knobs and 2 switches... I have no idea what these do I do believe it's active I could just find out for myself but I'm impatient and wondering if anybody knows what the nobs are for? also does anyone else have one of these? what's you're opinion?
  24. I can't imagine running the desk in to the aux inputs of the hi-fi causing any troubles just watch the volumes on the amp and desk!
