1. It's a very flexible preamp for sure and really musical sounding. There's a lot of difference between the two pickups even though they're so close togerther. The preamp has been this way since the early 80s right up to the series IV basses.
2.
Isn't this more a matter of never pay by PayPal Gift unless you really trust the person you're sending it to? This is because you're doing the equivalent of sending cash.
Well, yes, if you're sending money to a family member or something. Never for selling something.
3. Two rules to live by Never use PayPal Gift Always ship insured to full value You can't go wrong with the above but people still ignore them.
4. Sweet. I've got kiwi's Hexavalve here but haven't really tried it yet
5.
Probably should have explained the thread better. It occurred to me that by the time my tone gets to the business end I've used the controls on my bass, an mxr at my feet and the controls on my amp. It all seems daft.
I thought the same, ended up using my Vbass into a power amp, weighed nothing and sounded brilliant. Still have the power amp, it's been very reliable. 400w a side and 1u. 6. Good idea, I've just sent them an email so will let you know if anything materialises.
7. Just listened to it, think it's pretty cool. I'm getting more into electronic funk so good timing. Nice tight bass bits in the chorus. Thumbs up. When's the album out?
8.
As long as it's wet & warm - deal
As long as they let us have a plug. For all I know our stand might be a cubicle in the bogs
9.
Missed the discount like a proper Charlie. Sunday booked. I therefore propose to drink £4's worth of tea at the BC stand.
I'll bring my finest loose leaf FTGOP1, should be about £4 a cup
10. I'd say it's largely due to a low action and little neck relief combined with a heavy right hand technique. You should be able to get the sound you want acoustically before you even get plugged in.
11.
I got the strap. Don't get me wrong, I would love a board but my inertia is crippling and this will arrive all ready to go!
Yeah why not! Looks great.
12.
I am a total lightweight. This popped up on the IEM thread and it looks like less hassle than carrying a board around so I am going to try it. http://www.woojer.com/strap/#StrapSpec
Looks great. Will it get in the way with your bass top horn though? I'm still loving my Pleasure Board. I use it as a sub when playing music through my office hifi. Really gives you that extra dimension. Let us know how you get on with the Woojer; did you buy the vest or the strap?
13.
Just buy D'Addario EXPs? Better string in every aspect?
Tried, didn't like
14.
Funnily enough, seller two has unquestioningly refunded me in full, but asked me to not leave bad feedback as he is not a bass player and bought them in good faith. Yeh right.
I guess he'll be removing the other sets from his listings then? He's just giving you more ammunition for your negative feedback
15. It's just not worth the risk. Only buy from an official shop. I get mine direct from Elixir because we're friends Love the strings
16. Had some complaints about sexism so will lock in the interest of my own sanity and lack of desire to have to discuss or justify why I have or haven't let sexist comments get out of hand this evening. Phew. Thanks have a nice weekend
17.

Love this... so cosy
18.
Wish I lived a bit closer to London when things like this come up. Is it just me who thinks it means something other than bass guitars when they see LBGS? I thought I was getting 20% off a roger from Roger!
Funnily enough when I lived in Oxfordshire it was a real pain to get to, but from York it's much easier via the fast train. Go figure. And yes, me too
19. Oh I only sent the email to people I wanted to come (...but in all boring seriousness the emails are sent out in batches that could take a couple of days in total; on top of that we're in Amazon's bad books because we have so many email bounces and this hasn't helped, so maybe some have gone missing... that's why I also created the thread on site and FB etc!) No problem to ask the question BTW, I don't like emails either especially as they normally mean I have to do something!
20. To be honest I had no idea the email would go to everyone regardless of the setting. It's the first time I've used it - and probably the last! Anyway you know where I'll be on the 4-5th of March if you want to offer some physical resistance ped
21. I don't think so. There will be an option soon though on the new site. We don't send mass emails often, last one was in 2013. Sorry if it caused annoyance.
22. Good question. I always used Photobucket as well which was always OK with a few choice filters added to my ad blocker, but now it's just got ridiculous. There are so many things wrong with it I don't know where to begin. I also use Flickr but use that more as hosting for my 'proper' pictures. Throwaway pics I tend to use something else, but it's still nice to use a device that keeps your pics on record should you need them again. I've tried Postimage which seems like Photobucket but without the ads - the only problem is that when you use the line of code to show a pic it inserts an advert there, unless you snip it out. All in all I think there's room for a proper hosting service, even better if it was built into an OS. [Image] tagging pictures on iCloud for example would be really useful.
23. That's a shame, I'm on my honeymoon. Do people think Tina would prefer this to Iceland?
24.
Polo shits?
Freudian slip, sorry
25. Just use the code BASSCHAT at checkout http://www.londonbas...om/buy-tickets/ This is valid until Sunday so be quick! We'll be at the show - I'll have some polo shirts, lanyards to give away and soon will post a list of 'meet times' where you can meet other BC members and have a cuppa. Cheers ped
