Weird, I've been watching that exact clip for ages and have learned the tune - it's always on my YT recommended page!!

Just a thought, is there an option to tell it you’re using headphones rather than into an amplifier? I have that option in my Roland and it does make a huge difference. When you select headphones it’s quite different to the output to an amp. Makes sense to have that option - otherwise I guess you could make models specifically for each category, with cab sims off for cans...

Personally I think Fieldy’s bass sound and playing are perfect for Korn.

It’s funny how some see slap as a completely different way of playing. I mean it kind of is but I like my slapping to sound similar to when I dig in, and blend it in with normal playing. I think when people hear the word slap bass they think of super fast nail gun antics rather than something more subtle. Think about a John Entwistle’s typewriter technique. That’s basically slap.

Ah cool well then it’s all practice I’m afraid. I find sitting in front of the TV absent mindedly slapping an octave probably helps with timing. I’m even known to slap a desk when working. Start off with a simple slow pattern and try to maintain it for a while song.

I love slap. Especially when it’s used sparingly, like a little pop here and there’s within a fingered line. Perhaps that’s the key - start throwing some slaps into normal bass lines to build up a better, smoother technique. Normally people rush it. Lay back with it and make it groove.

They’re long enough for thru body stringing if you want to buy I can’t on my P.

Aye the first bit is muted. No effects on main bass kick but there’s a second track with some envelope filter and a third track with some bass fuzz. The strings are 40-95 which is the same gauge I use in roundwounds so they feel very nice to play. Tension is low, very supple. I don’t think anyone else does flats in such a light gauge.

When I’m happy with my instruments I start looking at accessories. The perfect strap to match the bass. Gig bags. Even strap pins. I’m the same with watches - having more watch straps and pin bars, cases and pouches than I know what to do with. At least that stuff is cheap(er) but it all adds up. I’ve had to tighten my belt a fair bit recently so have been able to reduce spending quite a lot as I’m very happy with what I have.

Disappointing to hear. I used to work with them but for the last couple of years they don't reply to me either. Guess they don't want the business.

Pretty sure it’ll be parallel as series won’t give you pickup blend options?

I’ve used Kompoz before. I just visited again with a view to doing some more collabs and I see it’s been massively updated and improved. Worth a go I think, I’m sure it’s mostly free but think you can pay for an upgrade that gives you extra features if you use it a lot. Cheers
