1. +1 for these being good bits of kit, I have the VT2 but mostly use same settings as VT1. The headphones socket on mine has the same problems but doesnt bother me.
2. +1 on the last post, any tech specs would be appreciated

Feedback for Jacko

Bought a EBS 212 from Jacko recently and he's been a great guy to deal with.

Ashdown MiBass

Cheers for the confirmation. Thought I'd double check before going ahead.
I run My MiBass 550 through a 4 ohm Eminence Kappa 15" speaker I fitted in my old Ashdown Cab. Sounds great and is plenty loud enough to compete with loud drummer and AC30 equipped guitarist.
I'm planning on doing the same with an EBS 4 ohm 650w cab I got off here recently. It'll be fine just to run the cab off one of the amp outputs right? (provided I don't put another cab into the other output)

Ashdown MiBass

I just grabbed one of these amps the other day but has come without the manual. Does anyone out there have a digital copy of the manual they'd please be able to share or possibly scan in a hard copy (big ask I know)? Cheers
9. Great, looking forward to hearing your opinion on it.
10. Any further thoughts on this amp borisbrain? I've been looking around and this bit of kit seems to be the best bang per buck on a combo setup. Any idea what the frequency response is like? I can't seem to find any published data anywhere. Would you say that with EQ set flat the response is pretty neutral?
11. Cheers for the bits of info lou. I'm defintately feeling a bit of a GAS build up for the one of these. Now I just have to figure out whether to go for the 115 or 210.
12. What about a Kala U-bass? Same comments apply regarding di or small amp etc, but they seem to hold value if you wanted to get rid and they have some nice sounds which could be good for a acoustic gig.
13. Anyone out there know where these are manufactured? At the price point I'm guessing China, no that it make a massive difference if the QC is decent. I'm seriously considering a 210 to replace my Lowdown, but just can't help wondering what the catch is with this combo at this price? Anyone have any thoughts? Also wondering about the tweeter; is it relatively simple to turn it down/off as needed? I can't seem to find anything in the maual that's available online. cheers
14. Great bass I'm really interested! Are there any issues with fret buzz? Looking around im reading about frets needing levelling etc. I've also read that with some of these the bridge isn't grounded any idea if this one is the same?
15. I have a Squier PJ and a Warwick $$ so not sure about a proper fender P but totally agree with the above about different sounds and how difficult it is to get a P sound out of the warwick (you can get some way there though). $$ is a great bass though, very versatile and pretty high quality IMO. With the pick-ups in parallel mode you can get some really heavy sounds cooking if that's what you're after.

18. I'd give a +1 to bass guitar for dummies and also bass guitar exercises for dummies. I feel I've come on a long way by gradually working my way through them and improved my technical ability as well as improving my knowledge of the fretboard and music theory. I'm also a big fan of Scotts lessons although some of them are way out of my league at the moment.

burns sonic?

Thanks again big red x. I haven't had chance to see it in the flesh yet but hopefully tomorrow. I did think the lack of truss rod might be an issue but I guess I'll get a chance to see how it's behaving when I check it out.I'm really hoping it plays nice because it certainly looks pretty cool. Anyone else out there played one of these? It seems like there's very few of these instruments out there so I guess I'm not going to get too many replies but it seems like you might know a thing or two about Burns kit mate. I'll keep this thread updated once I have a go and if I buy it. Cheers Unol

burns sonic?

Hi mate thanks for the reply. I guess I'm really interested in what sort of sounds and tones I could get out of it, common problems, quirks and general opinion and thoughts and feelings about them really. I'm quite into playing alot of garage and old motown type stuff so I'm guessing it could be a nice. What wood were they made of and why was it superceded by the nu sonic Are a couple of things I was also wondering about. Here's a few pics. It looks like the wood from under the bridge is gone, also like I said it's now thru stringed and the tuners have been replaced. Cheers again

burns sonic?

Hi basschatters. Im a long time lurker on here but haven't really felt the need to say very much until now.... I've found someone with a Burns sonic with thru body strings for sale that looks like it could be good fun. I'm really struggling to find much info out there though. Anyone have any experience with these basses and some opinions they'd like to share? Cheers Unol
