  1. It's a shame @AndyTravis if you still have to sell gear, including the Ripper, to afford the significant house re-fitting work needed to help Iris. But ultimately a bass is wood and wire and your family's health comes first every time. Hopefully the generosity of the BC community makes a meaningful dent in your outlays to help your daughter. Very best wishes, Clarky
  2. Thanks Bert, I have added link to OP
  3. Closing on 60%. What a fab community
  4. Nearly 40% of the way there .... woooo ooooh, living on prayer
  5. As not everyone will naturally read a Gibson FS ad (can't think why), this is to draw your attention to a fundraiser to help BC stalwart Andy Travis and his daughter Iris. See within this ad. Cheers Clarky https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/503434-gibson-“the-ripper”-1976/ ... and here is the JustGiving link https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/mark-clark-3
  6. Up to 665. The neighbour of the Beast
  7. Let's help Andy Trav's daughter Iris.

  8. Deeds not words are needed here. Don't sell the bass Andy. Let's behave like a community and help one of our own. I'm in. Here's to Iris https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/mark-clark-3
  9. How does £2300 posted in Tweed Fender-alike hard case sound? Wearing 40-100 Dr Hi Beams, not TI flats
  10. Utterly gorgeous bass, GLWYS Andy and hope it sorts what needs sorting
  11. Bump for reasonable offers
  12. However, here are some I took today, with DR Hi Beams 40-100 on in place of TI flats, bit more snarly.
  13. Check my update in this thread from Aug 23rd, I reposted the pics there 😀
  14. Sorry to hear that. I am an ignoramus on matters electrical but have you tried a squirt of contact spray? Maybe this would help if there is some dust or similar built up (especially if left untouched for some time)?
  15. Exactly!
  16. The necks on Wilcock basses are the mutts' nuts! Wish I could snaffle this to go with my Mullarkey but alas funds are not there. GLWYS, this is a fabulous bass!
  17. Here you go and an underneath shot, showing feet and some scuffs
  18. I know I wasn't going to bump this but I want to reduce my collection and it's just sitting in my bass rack. So try me with a reasonable offer if this rare bird takes your fancy! (No trades obvs due to cutting down collection)
  19. I have three rigs. I have not used any of them in the past 15 months since I joined The InSect as there is always back line supplied at our gigs (or I just DI from my Tech 21 BassFly Rig). Although this Terror Bass rig sounds phenomenal in a traditional rock and blues context it isn't as flexible as my MarkBass combo so I have decided this is the one to go (my 3rd rig is a small combo for my double bass). Great sounding V1 TB, which does the full 500W at 4 or 8 ohm (unlike V2), in a cool sleeve made by BC's 2×18 making it look like a scaled down AD200B full-fat valve amp. Coupled with a vgc OBC112 cab with padded cover. Will only sell as a rig, so no separate offers please and it's pickup only from a public space near me in SW13 Barnes, south of perma-closed Hammersmith Bridge. PS, the TB amp has the usual soft padded bag as well as a tool box as a hard carry case if you wanted to convert it back to the white, unsleeved 'regular' look. The whole shooting match for a bargainaceous £495.
  20. Just looked at Bass Direct website and there's an ad for some new La Bella super polished strings. Errr is it just my mind but does the description with asterisk look, ahem, fruity? If they had put a bigger gap between the O and D it would have helped....
  21. Was just the bass into a Tech21 Sansamp Bass Fly Rig v1 with DI out. Easiest load-in ever!
  22. Blast from the (recent) past. Just a random bump to see if anyone happens to be looking for one of these rare birds
  23. If anyone wants to see a Mullarkey in action, here is some footage from our gig last night https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/7919-how-was-your-gig-last-night/page/739/#comment-5332908
