1. Thanks for the comments guys; it was good to meet you both, and so far so good with the Lakland (I would like to say that I've now met about a dozen fellow BCers since joining a year ago or so, and have traded from afar with a few others, and every one has been a thorough gent - what a top class community this is, and it's a pleasure to be a part of it) Regards, Phil
2. Just bought a Lakland DJ4 from Pete - pleasure to meet and deal with, and top bass too. Many thanks.
3. Long overdue feedback, but did a swap deal in a Tesco's carpark with Colin - wish I could remember what I brought (it's an age thing) - but I was very happy with the two guitars I walked away with, and Colin was a real gent to deal with.
4. I've just sold a Sandberg to Alan - lovely guy, and a pleasure to meet him. (I'd just like to add my seal of approval to all the others on here)
5. ....and it still is - honest! (Thanks Mark)
6. I think that will be my next step, although I initially thought there may be some interesting swap deal to be done via this forum. Oh well, I'll give it a day, then hang a price on it - and thanks for the kind words.
7. .....or would consider a swap for a 4 string bolt on Warwick Dolphin...............or something Jazz-esque.
8. ...or my Musicman Sterling HS with natural finish, currently posted on this very forum at: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44082
9. You can - it's a five way switch, but it still doesn't quite fit the overall sound (just a feeble excuse for a GAS attack, truth be told!)
10. Rowbee - It extends the bassiness on offer, big time. Trouble is, it's that tight punchy sound that I'm after, but can't quite dial in. I can't complain about the guitar; merely about my own fickle nature and ever changing preferences, and subsequent cost. Jigsaws in the next life, methinks. Jigsaws and a healthy bank balance = achievable Bass guitars and a healthy bank balance = impossible
11. My Musicman Sterling 4 string just doesn't suit the new band's sound, hence it's up for grabs. I would like to end up with a 4 string Fender Marcus Miller Jazz, or something very similar, and it must be with the natural ash look. Now for sale - £750. 12. A 'final bump before Ebay' type bump
13. A 'Any P-Bass takers?' type bump
14. A 'two down, one to go' bump.
15. Guys, Many thanks for the advice. One new Switchcraft jack socket and a bit of fiddly soldering later, and it is a mended guitar with a normal appetite for batteries, rather than a serious habit for them. (Anyone else with a battery hungry Warwick please take note) Thanks again.
16. Keith, Okay - understood. I also have a MiM P-Bass with a Gotoh bridge and a Kent Armstrong humbucker pickup professionally fitted, probably of similar value to the cab. Picture attached - is this of interest? (If I had the cash at the mo' I'd have the cab off you sharp'ish, but I'm running on empty) Regards, Phil
