1. like some of the guys said I don't personally notice a difference and i love the look of both so i often find myself in a pickle trying to choose.. i guess it just which one looks best with colour your matching it to
2. i hate the x factor with a passion it represents everything that is wrong with the music industry today
3. by choice ... guitar just never made sense to me, i know that sounds odd because they are quite similar but i have always been more of a rhythm man
4. a pint at 10:30am ... you sir not only deserve you new amp you also deserve a medal
5. it tends to be the cheaper basses that have the sticky neck.. although I picked up a MIM precision in PMT and that wasn't too silky
6. is this a burglar checking if there's a market for a bass hes about to steal ??? lol
7. when you get older... people tend to die when they stop doing things, its almost like because they have no purpose their body just shuts down Take from that what you will
8. I don't know about the other guys but I used a combo for quite a while as the venues we were playing in those days were the size of shoe boxes. I personally think if you are in a position to buy a nice amp and cab and you are certain that bass is for you... why not?? have fun with it! One bit of advice would be to get one with a headphone socket (for those late night practice sessions) and preferably an Aux in for playing along with the songs your learning
9. Well on Thursday I finally received my order from PMT... the bass and the amp are awesome I'm very impressed with the quality of both items but the service has left a very bad taste in my mouth and kind of ruined the whole buying experience if I'm honest. To be fair the assistant manager did manage to cough out what I thought was the start of an apology, but I'm afraid its little too late I will not be returning. Oh and yeah... the bass I ordered was a maple fretboard... erm well it kinda showed up in rosewood instead... I'm not bothered because I like Rosewood... but i think that says it all and should let anyone know whose thinking of buying from them the kind of people and service your likely to encounter
10. well update on my situation... i still don't have my bass. i'm really starting to lose my patience now... if it doesn't come today I am demanding a refund ...
11.
That's a crank having to wait for your bass to get to the right shop for delivery. What board did you go with, Maple, or Rosewood? An Am. Std., Olympic White is a solid Fender color. When your bass gets in, best of luck with it. I think you made a good choice with the Am. Std.
yeah i have just rung them now and guess what it hasn't come in yet but rest assured they will ring me when it comes in... not!!! i went with the maple fretboard ... which is unusal for me as i like a rosewood fretboard
12. someone missed english at school obviously
13.
Sadly, I really hate going into music shops. I often get the impression that the staff think that the shop is only there for their convenience, not that of the potential customers. Yes, it must be difficult trying to compete with the online warehouses, but other indistry sectors have similar competition and have raised their game in order to offer something that an online retailer can never offer - genuinely personal service. Pete's story about the Epiphones is amazing but all too common. Instead of trying to offer something different to the Thomanns of this world, they badmouth them (which is probably bordering on slander) as they know that they cannot compete with them on price. In the last couple of years I have bought quite a bit of gear, but most of it has been bought second hand from here or a couple of other similar sites. I realise that I am not helping music retailers much, but then again I am happy to buy used gear. It is really only strings that I buy new and once again I have found that the online traders like StringsDirect and Stringbusters offer great prices and good service. Why would I go to a shop to be sneered at because I am not spending a grand on a new guitar? Imagine if other high street retailers showed such a snobby attitude to their customers? If the butcher laughed in your face because you only wanted a pound of mince and some chicken bones for stock! Or the fishmonger ignored you because you didn't come in to buy the whole tuna from the window display but only a couple of haddock fillets for tea. I think some music shops deserve to be experiencing hard times. Unless they respond to the current market with more sensitivity, they deserve to go under.
to be honest in future ill buy online.. ill simply go to shops to try out stuff and then buy online.. i didn't want to become one of those guys but after this past week i have lost all faith in them

17.
Interesting story, but I have to ask what's the dealer adding to the sale process if someone insists on buying an unopened product? They can't open it to check for any faults or transit damage. They can't open it to do a set-up. And if it is returned because of a fault, they can't be sure that the customer didn't do the damage because they've never seen it before. I take the point about not wanting to buy a returned product, but in this case the dealer is just acting as a box shifter - in which case why not just buy online from the cheapest source? Possibly even the manufacturer themselves, if such a customer trend became really popular. PS: That adverts states "in original packaging" - it doesn't state "in original unopened packaging"
you got a point there
