    i once played a 5 string squier precision, it was like playing a cricket bat, honestly.

    the musicman sterling is a high end model, in this case the same style as the sterling by musicman SB14, it has a smaller body and a more skinny neck, and sounds very very similar. The ray 34 has a fairly chunky body and a neck similar to that of a p-bass. the SUB bass is more like an actual musicman stingray than an SBMM ray 34 as it's made in the USA with actual musicman componentry but cheaper wood and paint jobs. Very nice basses, i used to have one, but i didn't get on with the neck, very precision-like.

    I managed to bodge an OLP neck to fit on my musicman SUB bass body, proper bodge, but it fits, just. Also i think the reason you don't see any musicman style necks made is because EBMM have a very proactive (for want of a better word) legal team.

    i didn't know you could get them in arctic white? i thought it was either black or natural.

    daaaamn, i'd love me a dargie (not a huge fan of the dargie 2 though), and also i'm pretty sure olive gold is still in production. EDIT: ok looks like i'm wrong... that colour didn't last long

    since when did these come with maple necks?? lovely bass! that would be swamp ash body and maple neck btw EDIT: that's a streamer not a corvette, d'oh! still ash body and maple neck though

Rich.[/quote] cheers, it has one of the best necks i've ever played, so comfortable and fast! and it does sound absolutely brutal with those coil switches pushed down! i run mine with cut bass and boosted mids and treble though, cuts through really well for metal and with my ABM with a bit of valve drive.... christ i think i just wee'd a little!
