1. Tony thompson and erskine for me.
2. I used to think they were just another band, but they have proved me wrong,i quite like them now, they seem to get away with being some weird 90s band in the 21st century.
3. My nude jazz band got 1000 for a new years eve bash at a castle in northumberland.Very cold.
4. Isnt dubstep just drum n bass with a new name,a bit like an eighth is now a ten bag? I must be getting old.
5. Are you fit!
6. An attempt to give talentless inept "RnB" artists some type of artistic credability, which to be honest dissapeared from the majority of black music quite a few years ago. Sorry just my 20 pence worth.
7. Im a big jonathan maron fan the first albums saw me through uni,i still love the decsending horns and busy bass on whatugot,i used to get so stoned to we the people.Good stuff.
8. This is utter sh*t to put it bluntly,no im wrong lets give him an O.B.E. like Gary barlow.
9. Bilbo,s got it in one! But if you are a lazy bastard listen to and steal anything by Ron carter.

12. get in to soul and funk/jazz music then the rest will come easy.
13. The most interesting walking bass lines, are constructed using arpeggios i find which in its most basic form is playing the notes of chords including the inversions, substitutes etc. You can also chuck in chromatic notes, scales etc,at least thats what i do,is it right? I dont know.
14. can you not just use chordal and modal shapes?
15. While im on it,no one has mentioned Dave Peacaock for ages or that bass player jamil i like from banda black rio! im going to bed.
16. nah mate,i see where you are coming from, but that styling was a trick,i mean im sure 16th/ghost notes was just really coming into its own in the disco period but it has to be one part of that snap i just have not got yet and im pretty good,i dont seem to have a problem with picking up 16th/ghost ala norman watt roy. Anyhow im not trying to replicate bernard just be able to nail his technique.
17. He was also a fantastic producer,im talking Jamerson status for his playing though.
18. I still cant nail this tune! I can play it and can nail most chic, diana, bernard bass lines but the timing/mute thing just is beyond me. I love the cest chic album so much its the reason i got serious about bass, guy pratts youtube version is ok but not like the original. i cant believe so little info is going on about bernard edwards,he was a master up there with Jaco.Any searching i have found always concentrates on Niles and the youtube stuff indicates Bernard was pissed off with the whole industry. Any fellow disco junkies who can play this line well?
