2.
Yes. The Paradriver has a sweepable mid control rather than a presence knob. I've owned both and much prefer the Paradriver. (From the same bloke Silddx & Clarkey used, I think).
So in terms of sound output are the very similar or is there a big difference??
 3.
Ooops.. I just hit the buy it now button... lmao
Now you didn't want to do that did you...hahahaha Call it finger slippage cos you fingers a sweaty due to the heat or was it the GAS !??!
 4. Can somebody explain what the difference is between the Para driver and Bass driver DI is??

 9.
As an odd twist... A colleague at work was in a relationship with the lead singer! I missed the programme (as did she; she had no idea that they were on) does anyone know if it is on any form of freeview/iPlayer/youtube?
Warwick, yup it's up and playing now on BBC IPlayer-Dragons Den

 11.
Anybody see Dragon's Den last night? I didn't myself but I gather from GMTV this morning that one of them has 'invested' in a band. They were on this morning, seemed OK, but nothing special I thought. Lead singer plays bass (Yamaha RBX-shape job). Virtually inaudible brass section. Lyrically pretty good. Wonder if this will do them some good or be the kiss of death. Thoughts?
Like you I didn't see them last night but saw them on GMTV too. I thought that when Peter Jones when asked what they were like replied "think Coldplay with amphetamines in your tea" my thoughts were he's big em a little. When they started palying I thought yeah Coldplay on downers not uppers in your tea!!!!! They were pretty average to say the least, I bet that there are a few BC member's bands that can wipe the floor with them!!! In fact I know this to be true having been to a few BC's bands sites I think that they were kind of in the right place at the right time. As for their future who knows with bands everybody knows how the music industry isn't in good health in terms of sales etc. Maybe a good short term punt because of the exposure they're getting at the moment, but long term...who can say. that's a whole differnet kettle of fish, a lot of things can happen to a band in a short space of time. I'll reserve judgement on them for now.
 12. Has anybody tried the DR coloured strings like the black beauties, hot pinks etc, at all? If so are they any good, how do they play and do they last for long just normal everyday noodling around not gigging with at all.
 13.
Wow! Anything to do with Mr.Clarke is going to be something special. I'm also waiting for SMV. If you haven't heard, have a look at www.smvmusic.com
Me too for the SMV project. Read the interview they gave to Bass Player mag and it sounds awesome!! They said that they should be doing European dates in the Autumn...we hope!!!
 14.
Excellent bass, the Corvette $$. Still thinking of getting another one. 17.
Wooks bought a bass of mine. Was a pleasure to deal with him, even if he did make me skip a heartbeat saying the bass was in two!! But ye, all round great guy and wouldn't even hesitate dealing with him again. Jake
I did say it had arrived in 2................................ the bag and the bass, which was true!! Sorry I couldn't resist it. It was a pleasure to do business with you mate and thanks for everything!!
 18. Bought Jake's Warwick Corvette $$. The bass was as described, if not better. The deal went through smoothly and Jake kept me informed in every way throughout the deal. He's a really cool guy to deal with, and has made this an easy process. I wouldn't hesitate again in the future to buy something from Jake, he's a credit to Bass Chat! Thanks mate, you're a star!!
 19.
After a combined practice time of not that long find myself struggling with what should be fairly easy stuff i would have thought. I checked out the beginners lessons that have been sticky-ed in the technique forum and can play the first lesson (U2) with fairly good timing, but my left hand speed is shocking going up and down the neck from the 7th fret to the 3rd, then back to the 10th. Ive also noticed that i have practically no dexterity in my fingers whatsoever, will this get better? Its a big worry.
I've been playing and learning myself for around 9 months now and I know what you're going through. My finger dexterity still leaves a lot to be disired, so don't worry too much. As my tutor keeps saying it's not how fast you can play something it's how accurate!! It doesn't matter how fast you play something because with speed comes mistakes and these are often mistakes that cannot be rectified in the long term. So start off slow make sure you get it right and accurate first, then slowly speed it up. But I know how frustrating it is not to be able to play tracks that you like. Or to be able to play certain patterns etc. But you have to learn to walk before you can run. I play along to a metronome for timing, you can get loads of free pieces of metronome software online. But the main thing that my instructor keeps telling me is make your practice time FUN and don't let it become a chore, enjoy what you are doing. These are all wise words! I hope this is of some help?
 20.
Sorry, just clarifying - You talking about the conception or delivery?
Probably a bit of both

 22.
I'm digging my DR Black Beauties at the moment! They look, sound and feel great. They're on my Warwick. Got D'Addario Nickels on my headless, they're not bad. Got Warwick Yellows on my Jazz, not bad either. Got some LaBella flatwounds for my fretless but I haven't finished putting it together yet. Think I'll be using DRs from now on. I get most of my strings from the States via ebay. Much cheaper than buying them here.
Can you or anybody that has delt with retailers in the States recommend anybody and possibly add links here please?? And give price examples and whether you've been stung for any duty too!!
 23. This looks a bit quirky Skull Bass There are few other nice looking basses in their shop too. I wonder what they will play like? Anybody had a punt on one of these at all?
 24.
MB1. Strings and gauges do matter a lot!... as individual as your choice of bass and amplification!......The Torture Never Stops!
+1 on this one MB1. I've only been playing around 9 months and I've found this out quickly!!! Bloody expensive this bass lark!! Are we bass players just a bit fussy with our gear or are other musicians, like drummers and guitarists the same too?? Do they experience GAS in the same levels that some people on here do, me included in that statement
