1. He's very tasteful and very much the ensemble player at the moment. I wouldn't for a minute agree his sound was thin though especially with that P and the Ampeg rig.
2.
I think women appreciate a bit of honesty. If I met her I'd tell her that if she jumps in the shower and puts a comb through her hair I might give her one. She'd be all over me.
I took this as sarcastic and ironic, self-deprecatory wit. We should realise by now that The BBC struggles with getting the quotes to work and doesn't know how to get the emoticons up so I self-edit the comments. It makes me shudder to think that anyone actually took this seriously. Though it does reinforce what I've said before about the importance of emoticons when communicating on line. I really hope The BBC comes along to the next bash so that people can get a handle on it all. I whole heartdly agree with Jamie though when he says that people ought to think before they post. In work I continually have to listen to piss-takes because I am Welsh. I know these people are not racist and they would never say the same things about black people or Muslim Pakistanis or the like but I know it's all good natured. If it wasn't they'd get some serious flak. Lighten up and see this monkey's humour for what it is. PS - BBC, I think you're a t****r!
3. Just looking to for a straight sell, thanks.
4. Bump.
5.
Now Newcastle is entirely at the mercy of GuitarGuitarSoundControlSoundsLiveGenericMusicShopChain. Dammit.
That really is a disappointment - I bought a marshall valve combo (which I still have and use) from Wally in Rock City back in the eighties, that was a cool shop, they had loads of goodies in there. I bought a Kramer guitar from a small shop next to the Baccus from a bloke called Rob who taught me to play Midnight Rambler as part of the deal. That shop used to feature in Spender if IIRC.
6. Skylines are fantastic. Bombproof build quality and great sounds. I've got three and wouldn't swap 'em for any Fender or MM.
7. Is the leather sofa included? It really sets the bass off well.
8. These are fantastic and still fully supported by Korg. I had one and used it every day. Korg support is superb - I dropped mine and broke a switch and Korg fixed it and returned it under warranty even though it was a bit old. This link takes you to the specs page and you can even look at (or download) the manual... 9. You know what these are and how good they are. I only really ever carried this as back up and used it for recording and now I have other (less expensive, lower quality) back up to sit at the bottom of the gig-box. Here's a link to one: http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/10052 Still boxed and includes original manual. £100 shipped in the UK. Thanks Sean
10. Due to me now having redundancy with things I can practise with at home, something has to go, so this is it. This link will let you see the specs and prices etc http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/fl...3308/a/r/e/base The optional extra power supply is included too... http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/?keyword=tas...nufacturer_id=0 It's all still boxed with the manual, even the peel off plastic screen cover is still on it. £95 shipped Thanks for looking Sean
11. He may be sh*t hot with his technique but I bet he couldn't bitch and whinge on a forum as well as some of us!
12. Ronnie Wood. Apparently he influenced Stanley Clarke from what he did with the Jeff Beck Group. Back when Bill Wyman quit The Stones there was a rumour that Ronnie was going to switch to bass and that Mick Taylor would return to the band. Sounds potty now but I remember that being the talk of the day.
13. I bought two sets of strings from a seller on ebay in the US and they were sent USPS and they disappeared without trace! When I notified the seller he sent some more and they arrived in about two weeks with the usual customs and handling charges. Still cheaper than UK purchase though.
14. I love the colour combination.
15.
I'm also after 5-stringer, but, when I took Ibazzy, I didn't think about slap very much.. And, now, damnit, I got problems with it - 5th string is not that serious problem, but, fret spacing 16.4mm, if I'm right, and neck pickup is not that far from fretboard ( as I've noticed only Now ) - as I'm using two fingers to pop the strings, keeping thumb and two fingers right in position becomes a Thing. I like slap sound very much, but, all in all, it looks to me that my Ibazzy's for everything, but except slap I know, it's all in work, and I'm working, though, how do you guys struggle with 16.4mm spacing if you even struggle?
I had a serious look into an SR1005 Prestige and had it at home for a while and just couldn't slap on it. My Lakland 55-02 (19mm) is perfect for slapping, no problems and is just as fast for me as the 44-02 but the DJ is much faster to play than either (or that's the way it feels to me anyway) The 55-02 is great for long grooves in F - it's the ability to play in position more comfortably that I like about the 5 string.
16. Fingers crossed.
17. Only about twenty for me last year which was the fewest in many years.
18. Not the best photos but you get the idea?
19.
if you want my honest opinion, i don't like either much. it could just be the strings, i don't know... sorry.
You stick to the chromed ones. Nice looking and practical for shaving too!
20.
Although recently I hear that he's made up with Fender and they are doing a MK sig model.
Ooh, how fantastic, a signature Stratocaster, what a novelty. I played a Schecter Telecaster guitar like Pete Townshend's and it was fantastic. I believe that Pete Townshend played Schecter guitars in the Eighties for much the same reason that MK did. That MM/S CAR bass in the bottom pic looks great and is a nice take on the Stingray/Sterling model, in fact I think I'll go and let my chums on the EBMM forum know about it, I'm sure they'll be ecstatic.
21. Welcome to the board!
