    I agree with all that is being said. I played thin jazz neck basses for years and recently purchased a jazz copy off ebay which turned out to have a wide p neck on it and enjoy playing it more then my cort gb74 now.

    I love my GB74 I have owned it a long time and never really felt the need to replace it, I love the versatility of it and the way neck feels when playing. The electronics in active mode are not the greatest, especially the mid boost function and it all sounds a little fake but switch it to passive mode and it growls away and responds very nicely to different playing styles How long have you owned yours for? and what colour?? Blue is best but natural looks lush aswell I am interested in the pickups and eagerly await a picture. Many thanks Lucas

    Luckily I have some copper tape from when I did my cort gb74 and my Pbass project so will do the jazz aswell cheers

    All sorted now thankfully. I get a hell of alot of hiss when I turn the tone up though, is this normal for single pole jazz pickups? (especially cheap chinese ones I imagine)

    RIght I checked the wiring diagram and it looks the same. how would I check for bridged contacts?

    as above^^ the master tone pot goes from killing the volume on both pickups one minute to adjusting the tone the next min and the neck pickup pot then assumes the role of killing all the volume?? It baffles me lol the bass in question is [url="http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130757890443?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649#ht_1215wt_1397"]http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130757890443?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649#ht_1215wt_1397[/url] (not the greatest but the auction I won was £61 delivered, I adjusted the truss rod a considerable amount and then set the action nice and low and it plays reasonably well now but has a p bass width neck so is not the quickest) any ideas on my electrical issue? plan is to junk all the electrics eventually and pre amp it but for now I would like to resolve this issue.
