2. This is a lovely looking piece of kit. J basses aren't my thing normally but I like this. GLWTS
3. I have one of these and they are as described - fat. Lovely satisfying thump with little effort.
4. I've never play berg but I own a supertwin and a 2x10 from barefaced. These are both 4ohms and are a real one cab solution to a bulk and weight problem. The 2x10 is resident in a place I play every Sunday and the supertwin goes everywhere else with me yet can be soft enough to play in the living room without annoying the neighbours.
5. Recent transaction was smooth and hassle free. Basschat marketplace at its best. Do business with confidence with bassninja. Thanks.
6. I had the five string version of this. Beautiful piece of kit. GLWTS
7. Zoom B3 multi effects. Does what it says on the tin/box, very well. Great piece of kit which I bought intending to use to boost my sound a bit but a newly bought bass rig leaves it surplus to requirements. Might as well be being used by someone else. Power supply included but the instructions were absent when I acquired it. Instructions are readily available online to keep on hand on your tablet or phone; it's so simple to use they are not really needed if the truth be told. Price includes postage to UK only.
8. I had one of these and they are one of the loudest combos ive ever played. If you wanna be heard in a small light package they are the perfect weapon. Glwts
9. Got the new amp and cab a wee run out tonight. Cant believe how easy it is too be very loud and very clear without cranking the dial very far. Really impressed with this. I was concerned that I shud have stretched to the 800 watt markbass amp but theres more than enough from this. Id reccommend it
10. New supertwin barefaced and Little mark 1xcab solution for a space based problem. Safe to say i was grinning when test driving this after being encouraged to play it loud when its new to loosen everything up.
11.
Ooooh, ooooh, what'd you go for Mike?
On trying that 4ohm 2x10 monster of yours i wanted to go 4ohm to keep it to a one cab purchase as i know myself too well and another 8ohm cab to get the max from the amp would have been too much of a temptation. Went for supertwin.
12. Pulled the trigger with a barefaced cab. Lets see how it goes. Thanks for the posts and opinions.
13. Just read Kevs thread. Some questions answered to a degree about vanderkly, bergantino, and barefaced. I just need to pull a trigger and go with one. And im not even a little bit jealous of the darkglass amp neither ;-)
14.
Barefaced aren't that new - I bought my first one in 2008! Barefaced cabs aren't all the same sound either, there are two distinct ranges which sound very different, but even the 12" equipped cabs don't all sound the same. Alex is excellent at advising you on what cab would be most likely to suit your needs. Have a read on the Barefeced website for loads of information. http://barefacedbass.com/ I would guess both brands would do the job they're designed to do very well. Have a look at basschatter Kev's recent thread. I have no experience of Vanderkley so can't offer any insight, but I'm sure they're very good cabs. Frank.
Many thanks for this. Its the first time ive considered spending more than the cheapest option on a cab and my own understanding of tech lets me down. Ive been emailing alex over last week or so and spoken to someone else at barefaced by phone. All really helpful, just considering a different option to compare. Theres so many id get totally bogged down if i spread the net too wide. Cheers again
15. Thanks for the replies. I've managed to have a play on a barefaced cab loaned to me by a very kind local basschatter and safe to say I'm exceptionally impressed that so much volume comes from such a small box. So barefaced is loud, clear and doing it without having to turn the volume dial very far round. I think the 12" speaker may be the road to go down. As for wondering on why I asked about Vanderkly and barefaced ? Barefaced are new kid on block with apparently a reputation for doing very well at being loud and small. Vanderkly are like the Rolls Royce and if I was buying one cab I was simply wondering what was best at covering most bases; the new kid or the expensive luxury one. I play bluegrass music in a group but I also like to play metal, thrash, and - well whatever I happen to be listening to for fun. im not great at describing in words what a sound actually sounds like but I know what I like when I hear it, and I heard it from a barefaced can tonight. I'm maybe just fishing for a reason why a person wouldn't buy either of these, as I've read very little negative about either of them. Cheers
16. Ive a markbass little mark III 500w@4ohms Barefaced or vandeekley cabs are the options Which is the better buy ?
17. Evening guys Thanks for the comments. Sorry I haven't been replying as quickly and readily but my phone was playing up today when I was out and away from wifi No internet service etc on the hop. Bass is now sold. Many thanks for the interest. Mike
18. Here is my fender precision bass in gorgeous blue finish with maple fretboard. Only bought this recently on the forum here from Tom1946 and it its in the same condition as it was when I got it; the only thing is that I have removed the chrome vintage cover from over the bridge as its not m thing. I have it still so you can put it back on if you wish. Comes with decent quality gig bag. The black spot between the knobs was where a kill switch once lived, and this was the way I received it from Tom. Does the P bass thing exactly as it should. Some amp GAS has caused this and I need to offload some kit rather urgently. Postage included to UK only.
19.
Flogging (or not flogging) a dead horse methinks. I know the last few were sold of relatively cheaply by Fender, but these were a very well thought of £700 amp 4 years ago. Only a few half hearted bits of interest so I think I'll give it until the weekend then settle myself down with it. Cheers, Karl.
Pm'd
