1. NOW SOLD, PLEASE REMOVE This is a bit of a reluctant sale but i'm managing with my 300Watt trace on less than "1" volume and the GK isn't getting used. I LOVE this amp. It has the tone switch that gives you a great scooped sound, you can switch channel for a distorted sound, there's an input for an MP3 or whatever, the cab angles back... It is a really great amp in a small package. I don't want to sell it but it just isn't being used and I want to raise cash to blow on a new bass... The only slight fault on this amp is that when you plug a jack in to the headphones socket it doesn't mute the speaker, so it's more of a "line out" really. I'm sure this is an easy fix if you need it to be. Pictures to follow soon...
2. For Sale: A black Westfield P-Bass with a few small basic mods. I'm giving up on the project to upgrade this in to the ultimate P-Bass due to lack of time etc. - so this becomes someone else's opportunity. Here's the details: Black P-Bass, rosewood board Mods: Wilkinson black bridge with chrome saddles, black knobs, black strap-locks (Schaller style) I've got it strung up with some old worn-in Ernie Ball flats and it has a pleasing sound, easily gig-able. Nice to have as a knock-about bass. Photos coming soon... I'm also selling a decent P-Bass pickup if anyone is interested in adding that to this bass...
3. I'm going to buy a load of second hand Squiers, sail out to a buoy a few miles off the Scarborough coast and anchor them down so that the waves smash them in to some rocks, limpets grip on to them, the chrome tarnishes and they stink. £500 each, anyone in??
4. It even looks wet on the big welts under the bridge. Is it wet? I don't understand!!!???
5. Still available
6. Aha - the current body is a Westfield P Bass copy, and the bridge is a Wilkinson P Bass copy so hopefully that shouldn't be a problem?
7. interesting, hadn't thought of that one
8. I like that a lot! Congrats
9. Hi everyone, I bought a G&L Tribute 4-string bass neck recently, all maple. It's excellent, needs some sharp edges sorting on the frets but otherwise its great... However...! The neck has an extra fret to a standard Fender P or Fender clone neck. It fits perfectly in the neck pocket on the body I want to use with it (Westfield P Bass body for now) but I'm unsure what to do about the fact that the scale is slightly thrown off. Do I remove some wood from the body to extend the length of the neck pocket (would also need the pick-guard trimming too)? Have the neck trimmed back? Source a different body? Ideally I'd like to source a better body over time, but now I know the neck isn't right for a generic P-Bass body I'm not so sure of my options, and I don't want to spend too much on getting this right. All advice welcome!
10.
Bit of an obvious one really, but in my gigging days it was nice not to have to invent excuses to prevent inebriated punters getting their grubby mitts on my livelihood.
YES!!!!! Have heard many a story of musicians crying as a massive biker wrecks their gear...! Also there's growing your hair long and "being" Paul McCartney if that floats your boat.
11. Mine arrives on Friday, really great deal for the neck, delivery and import fees. It's going on to a black bitsa P-Bass, everything black except an all maple neck... Am hoping this is similar quality to a Fender MIM neck?
12. Paul_S thank you for posting a link to AWB! Absolutely love them, "Put it where you want it" is an all time favourite of mine. Oh yeah... basses. If your friend leaves it with you that long I think it's yours already surely?!
13. I've seen some brand new kack-handed Ricky basses with walnut bodies and maple fretboards... They look amazing, I would love a Ricky, but I'd be so scared of damaging a £2,000 instrument I wouldn't buy one even if I could
14. Can't wait to play it in anger!
15. Had this for a month but moved house and only just got all my gear together... Here it is, Trace Elliot rig!! Can't wait to get it properly fired up with a full band
16. Nothing left handed there... No surprise 😢
17. Let us know how it goes! The bubinga fretless corvette is calling my name...!
18. I'd pluck it (Upside down)
19. It's the volume control on a passive bass that I don't understand!!!
20. I find cash converters seem to price as if everything is new, rare to find a bargain there these days
21. Saw this in the window of my "local" cash converters (local to where i grew up) for £999. It is a thing of beauty... Thought you guys should know about it. If i was right handed and rich you'd know about it because this would be an "NBD", but i am sadly not rich
22. thanks guys, i used the TE 2x10 version of the combo years back for a rehearsal and loved the amount of "punch". Happening across this for a crazy price was too good to turn down, and i can always sell on the extension cab if its not getting used. It was a toss up between this and a Warwick sweet 25.2 - hope i made the right call.
23. I got offered a great deal on a TE combo (GP7215) 300Watts with 15" speaker, 7 band EQ, etc. and a 2x10 extension cab... off to pick up on Saturday. Very, very excited!! Have played the 2x10 trace combo and figured this would be a very flexible rig... then i searched the forum and noticed a good handful of these GP7215 combos for sale - any reason why, or just the cyclical nature of GAS? I'm hoping this will settle as a versatile gigging and rehearsal rig for whatever style i end up playing next...
24. I had a German made Warwick Streamer LX lefty: maple body, bell brass frets, gold hardware, active eq, possibly the most beautiful wooden object i've ever seen... Bought off eBay in 2007 for £450 cheeky bid with a hard case... It just wasn't perfect. It sounded great, I even invested in a Warwick sweet 15 amp which complimented it very well. I had to sell in 2009 to fund some training which helped my career progress but regret the sale now, especially at £550. I'm seriously considering buying a fretless warwick pro series in bubinga - to me that *should* be the "warwick sound" but there are many others on my GAS list!! I just can't understand the price hike for the German made instruments recently - is there any explanation for this?
25. Hmmm... quite fancy the all maple if it will fit on my Westfield body P-Bass project...
