1. I'd love one of these too! I love the fact they were designed to wear

Sold

That's a great price, lovely bass!
3. I've bought and sold here, all transactions went great, all the people I've spoken to regarding buying and selling are great. If I did end up in a potential sale and the seller decides otherwise..... fine, all it takes is a quick pm...no harm done I don't think there is anything wrong with the For Sale, trading, wanted etc forums here at all. For the majority of the time I'd say they were used sensibly.
4. He's a genuine guy and is always prepared to talk, listen and help the lesser known players of the world...he'll answer your messages, he'll always answer the phone and if you miss him, he calls back! What else do you expect from a bass player?
5. I wouldn't touch that with a bargepole!
6.
As I said earlier I would like to see him live as I'm sure there's a lot to see and feel from him. He's in good company and it's great that people report he is approachable, when the fire of youth settles down he has the chance of turning into an important voice in European jazz. Just remember though Jaco was 18 when he started playing with Metheney and they had a lot down by then, taste and skill!
True Jakesbass..... as much as I love Jaco and all he did, bass playing and technique has moved on since then, even Jeff Berlin says he doesn't have the technique that players have today. I think it's good for Jazz today to move on too, I reckon he has taste and skill, even if he's only shown us a little..after all, he is a full on Jaco and Weather Report head, so isn't it better he takes it further rather than clone it?
7. I don't tend to move around too much, other than when you're naturally getting into it. Not really bothered about showmanship or image or "putting on a good show" I'm more interested in playing well, how we sound and whether we're tight or sloppy. If a band is cutting it on the night.....showmanship follows, whether you move or not.
8. I'm fine with players using mind blowing technique....I love it ( I'm 40 ) but what's really special as Rumble mentioned is groove, I need to listen to more but I reckon he's capable of both technique and groove at the same time.
9.
By taste and restraint I don't mean that I wish to tie him down and lick him; I mean that what I've heard from him so far shows an imbalance of technique over musicality. I'd like to see him in a group where notes and phrases are more carefully placed. Mark
Yeah, I got what you meant but he's young isn't he? Perhaps it's all just coming out, maybe that type of player matures and slows down, maybe we'll see it in a few albums time. I haven't heard or seen much of his stuff so I shouldn't really judge him just yet but already he's making me want to hear more.
10.
I'd love to see him do something like that. With a bit of taste and restraint coupled with his chops, that could yield a mighty fine performance! Mark
Why do you want to restrain him?
11. Ha Nigel Tuffnell...I'll tell him that! So, I'm Derek Smalls then?
12. Nah, Bug and Don are good guys....Sound guy? DI? PA? ......I dunno, how the other half live eh? Ha, I got no chance of hearing myself with those guys....it's like "here's my guitar and there's the door if you don't like it" Don must be the loudest guitar player I've ever played with.....always got my ear plugs, it really is too dangerous to play with those guys without them!
13. Yes, we could do without all these guitarists.....pain in the arse, if I had my way, I'd have all of them shot OR make it law that only one is allowed in a band..yeah, that's better.
14. No worries mate, bring it along, chuck it in my new Hartke gear if you want, or bring that Ashdown Fly you just bought!
15. I didn't play the Quo gig, ( We weren't going to get paid so I didn't play ) the boys said it went ok though, Rob played bass. Glad the band is going well mate....Tidy Darts!
16. Jarrad boy, how you doing? Pretty well by the looks of things! Jase.
17. I enjoyed the video, I don't know much about the guy but his technique is great, it's everywhere, without blurting over everyone else, very quirky chap it seems....I watched a vid called A Very Simple Song (think that was the title) hmmm, not my thing but that's always the case for me with bass players, I don't / can't get into everything they do. I'd rather watch Swallow do this than a slap fest though.
18. For me, there's huge Jaco and Weather Report influences, not saying he's a clone though. I've only heard a little of his stuff, his effect use is pretty darn good too.
19. Didn't John Mclaughlin say something along the lines of...he was the new Jaco??? One or two notes more than Jaco though
20. They look really well made, the four string Jazz models are a bit tasty looking too! They have some sound files, which is always good, not my cuppa on the active side of things though.
21. 6 out of 8 practices cancelled, a gig you organised cancelled, ill singer, drummer not turning up, also paying for sessions you don't use, which is so annoying.....I'd be on the phone ranting, bugger the beer and chat.
22. Mix and match is great, I've had good results from a Peavey head and Marshall cabs, Trace amp and Marshall cabs, Trace amp and Hartke cab is a good one too. All down to taste though, there's no rules saying you have to have a complete rig
23.
Nope - anthropomorphication is for girls...
Try getting in touch with your feminine side bilbo.....it's fun
24. I'm down to just my two Fenders, fretless and fretted.
25. I think there's one called Slow Gold.
