1. Sounds like a nasty injury your guitar player had....what happened? Cool solo cover by the way!
2. Hmmmm, wondered what happened to Jaco's 360.
3. Ok, Manring influenced but still gorgeous sounding. http://www.youtube.com/user/Zander4724
4. This chap seems happy! http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...tke/LH1000/10/1
5. I've been thinking about getting one too, I like the simple approach they've taken with the eq, great price too!
6. I need it! Skint and nowt to trade.
7. Fender shape for me, purely for comfort and it's been a huge while since I played any other make, acoustic basses I find too uncomfortable, had a Charvel once, although it was more or less Fender shaped, still not right for me. It's being familiar with an instrument that matters to me, sounds stupid but I have to have raised pole pices on my pickups, not for sound but for my thumb position, I need a P guard too because the screw just behind the E string is also an anchor point for me. Bolt on is another one for me, interchangeable necks marvelous idea!
8. Phwooooa!!!!
9. I've never seen/heard any, so I thought I'd 'ave a look around and found that Robert Trujillo has a signature set!
10.
I'll give you £40 plus the £23 for postage. Even if I can't fix it it'll be handy for parts. Cheers, Stu.
Pm'd, cheers Stu.
11. Righty ho! I have here a HA4000, now....the reason I have it listed as cheap or offers is this: I can't figure out why the damn thing decides to cut out half way through a gig and other times sounds great! Not being an amp fiddler, I can't be arsed with it, I'm sure it's something stupid but I have no patience. The amp itself is cosmetically in good condition, all controls are smooth and working, jack inputs are sound etc. The case is in good condition usual wear, nothing bad, the latches work fine. So, I thought perhaps there might be an amp fiddler who'd be into having this to make reliable again. I dunno, maybe swap it for something stupid or make a silly offer....just for the record, last year 48 hr postage, £150 compensation and tracked was £22.99....so If you take care of postage I won't be expecting much in the way of cash
12. Felix is a bit good too!
13.
Dave's price for a more or less normal P bass was £1800 last time I asked .. Just to give you an idea as this one would probably be about the same amount of work to build .. oh and about 9 months...
You're kidding me!
14. Mr Dearnley in Splott Cardiff, loves a project. 02920 462953, but I reckon you should take it to him with those MASSIVE boots you wear!!
15.
This question is a bit like asking "what car should I get?", and that answer is like saying "... Ford". For a first bass, I'd definitely second the idea of forming a relationship with a local music shop, because they can give you advice on strings & accessories, and (if it's a good shop) help with setup. It doesn't have to be expensive - these days, all but the cheapest basses are generally decent - but a poorly set-up bass can be a real enthusiasm-killer, like trying to learn to drive in a Beetle with a dodgy clutch.
Yes....FORD: Fix or Repair Daily...ummmm I can't think of one for Fender Don't go to a music shop, there are more people here that won't bullshit you if you buy secondhand and if you stick around, you'll find out that people here REALLY love their gear, a huge percenatge of gear for sale here is always in very good condition...lots of geeky, brainy, bass folk
16. I doubt he'd have to shop around for endorsements....surley they'll go to him!
17. I'll narrow it down for you....Fender
18.
Now call me silly . . . . (YES I'M SILLY ) BUT I took my Fender S1 Precision apart to change the the stock pick-up to a Lindy Fralin and ended up putting it back together as is cos' it looked a right faff to do. Extra wires for the usless S1 and all that gubbins. I suppose the answer is to pop the new pup in 'wire for wire' but has anyone actually performed this operation? What do you do? Cheers for you help Ade
I know what you mean by faffing around....I thought the same when I changed my S1 Jazz pickups. Not a fan of the S1 myself!
19.
that humbuckers post is right- a musicman style pickup will beefen* out your sound. *am i allowed to make words up in order to answer his question?
Beefen....tis a good word.
20. Maybe consider some pick ups
21. I've seen a couple of Billy's clinics, really good stuff! You actually think he's going to come out blasting two hand tapping stuff...he actually came out playing REALLY good rock bass. He did eventually get around to his solo stuff...marvelous!!
22. Cheers Clive!
23.
Hi, I'm new on here so hope this is the right place to post this... Anyone own a MIJ 62 Re-Issue Jazz bass? Thinking about getting one and just wondered how they compare to the MIA basses? Does anyone knows if they're made of Alder? Thanks for your help. All best, Rob
All down to taste in how they compare.
