1. I done made me a noodle. It's more pot noodle than anything quality and no loopers were harmed in the making of this noodle, though it would have made it slightly easier to play!! Noodle It was played on an Aria Pro II Magna Series 5 String w/ EMG pickups into GK MB500 Fusion into Zoom H4n. B Channel with high gain on the valve pre.
2.
Were you planning to ask for their opinion, or will your guitarist be able to make up his own mind about what he likes?
He'd like an Ibanez, but he's sensible enough to get what he needs if that doesn't suit. Unlike me who wanted a P-Bass when in reality there are thinner necked 5ers in a PJ configuration which may actually suit me better! Thank you, we'll try PMT in Northampton. A jolly to Brum with pub stop does sound like a good idea to though 🙂
3. Are they any good? I got the feeling that PMT weren't that interested, musical items are a commodity to sell rather than something to be interested in if that makes sense.
4. The guitarist in my band wants to buy a new guitar. Any ideas of a guitar emporium where we can go to check out the options? I know the good places for bass gear but I'm a bit lost when it comes to our skinny stringed brethren. We're in Northampton BTW, so London or Brum is perfectly acceptable for travel.
5. I think we might be going to see Terrorvision in Coventry next month. I need to beat the troops into shape so I can get the right number of tickets!
6.
Mr Venom spends most of his time in the audience so he doesn't need much room on stage.
Or *on* the bar, or in the street!
7. Out of curiosity, what's the pickup and EQ like? I'm idly thinking about turning my P into a PJ but using a Dimension pickup.
8. That's an interesting approach to a drop D tuning. I've never seen it before. Does it cause any issues with not being able to play an open E or I guess you just learn to work around it.
9. I'm sure there was a thread on here about practice/ home studio spaces, but I can't find it. Anyway, after a tidy up and moving some shelving around this is where the music is made in our house! 10. I'm going to get one in this month. Promise!
11. It may stay worthless then, I'm rubbish at taking pictures of anything! Thank you all for coming along today, it was great to see you and have the support for this crazy idea
12. And we're off people are here as well which is always nice
13. IT'S BASS BASH DAY! See you all in about four hours
14. Try and buy a 5 string Precision Deluxe to find out the meaning of hen's teeth!
15. I was hoping you would, but as it's being built for someone I didn't like to ask
16. That's a shame. Still, it won't reignite your 5 string P-bass GAS
17.
I will have a listen later on and vote. Seems a couple less noodles this week?
One of those was mine, despite having all month the deadline snuck up on me
18. I use really thin picks by the sound of it, Dunlop 0.6 ones.
19. Nothing about how it was better back in the day or using music stands?
20. I've never been able to play finger style with any kind of flow or consistency and when I started playing I didn't know I wasn't allowed to use a pick
21. Before I forget, does anyone fancy a raffle? Bring something to go onto the table if you do.
22. Bum, it's the 30th already, are riffs in this month?
23. It's next week! Hopefully you're all excited and looking forward to it
24. I find mine is a faff to tune, I have to do each string a few times before they all stay in tune, but I agree, it's not the evil invention it has the reputation for.
25. I was going to do a Northampton Saints one. But I didn't get round to it and and sold the bits. There's a P-bass neck on here somewhere with a yellow faced headstock
