Traben

Lovely stuff my man, I have two Trabens (a Phoenix and a Torrent custom) and they're both awesome. And i had an Array like yours (but 5-string in natural spalt-maple) but sold it. But thems nice basses, top banana.
4. If you still have the headphone extension lead i'd love it cheers mate. Meant to reply to your post this morning, but bloody 'pooter crapped up...... If you could let me know if its still available that would be top banana.
5. Whats the gauge dude? If they're .40s or .45s i'll have 'em off ya'. Cheers amigo.
6. After being eBay scammed (bugger) this is back on the 'bay. Its only got a few days to go, so any offers better be pretty sharpish! Would ideally be after a 5-string, but whatcha got? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IBANEZ-BTB406-QM-6-S...1QQcmdZViewItem Cheers y'all!
7. Well, after much deliberation i've decided to EvilBay it. I'm ideally after another nice 5-string, but if anyone has any offers please make them sharpish! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warwick-Katana-5-Str...1QQcmdZViewItem Cheers y'all!
8. Make an impression?! I'm 6'6", 16 stone, and quite often drunk. Yep.
9.
Then again, every music chain seems to hire the wrong people, maybe musicians shouldn't actually work in the shops as they tend on the whole to think they are better than the customers.
HURRUMPH!! Couldn't (generally) agree more. The store in Norwich is really well stocked, the guys working there seem nice and helpful, but its massively overpriced. (i recently looked at a 2nd hand Ibanez they had up for £450. The exact same model sold 2nd hand from another music store for £180. True.) I do actually like the chain, i've been to probably about 8 over the years, but the snobbish "i'm a muso, bow down to my superior knowledge" attitude i've seen displayed by 90% of the staff is dreadful. And if you're female and walk in there to buy something, its something else; "oh, you want a guitar do ya' love? What colour were you thinking of?"
10. I think its amazing that this post has gone from a guy playing bass, to snobbery about his "lack of flow", to the reasoning about why Britain is poop. Is it me, or has this got a bit too serious? I think the guy's cool for being able to do what he can do, and not being afraid to share it. And when it comes to "playing faces", i apparantly don the stare of the keyboard player from Sparks.
11. Magnifico! Cheers fellas, lovely job. And if anyone unearths any more photos from this years March bash i'd love to see 'em. Thanking you!
12. You, Dood, are a gentleman and a scholar. Cheers amigo!
13. The Futura is a bolt-on, and of all the basses i've had/will have, this is the one i'll always keep. When there's another bash i'll bring it along so you can see for yourself, the necks like a ruler and it really plays itself. It don't look nuthin' special, its passive with only a volume/tone/pickup control, but it sounds like a brontosaurus clearing its throat.
14. Howdy y'all, Just wondering if anyone still has the photos or vid from the Northampton bassbash, seeing as BassWorld is now defunkt. Would love to take a looksy at it all again. Thanking you, -Jase.
15.
Those Trabens are wicked, I've never seen one in the flesh, but I love those bridges. They did one with a large sun shape for the bridge, it looked fantastic.
Yeah, in all honesty they're the best basses i've played for the money. When you bang the strings through the body, the sustain is Spinal-Tap worthy. And if they're good enough for Bootsy and Dirk Lance, they're good enough for my sh*tty playing!
16.
On the half rack blank plate is an old Ashdown name plate , just because it was laying about. I'm thinking of half rack FX or a straight half rack compressor to fill it properly. All suggestions welcome.
Suggestion; Sell me the wireless and tuner for £50.
17. Some lovely shots there, especially like the one with ruins in the background. Very Clannad!
18. HA! How bazaar! Just as soon as you put that, there's one for sale on here. Looks nice too.....and a VERY reasonable price. (My Concert CMG Custom cost me £699, and this 5-string is up for £350!) http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3026
19. Many thanks for the offers guys, but in all honesty i'm really after another modern 5-string. I love Jazz Deluxes, but not more than i love this Warwick. Its a real shame i'm thinking of letting it go, but when it comes to over a grands worth of bass, it should feel perfect in my opinion. Cheers anyways though fellas.
20. Divvy, i've also got a Laney RGB500 combo, with upgraded Celestion 500w driver. It was in my car when i took the pics, Duh.......
21. If you scour ebay for long enough an old 5-string may turn up. The concert CMG was available as a 5-string (Dave Ellefson used to play one) but they're rare as rocking horse poop. And if you do ever buy a Jackson, get a pre-1999 model, before Fender bought them and turned them into absolute plop.
22. Heres my 6 beasts of pure satanic power; Traben Phoenix, Traben Torrent, Ibanez BTB406QM. Jackson Futura, Jackson Concert CMG Custom, Warwick Katana. Yes, i AM heavy Metal.
23. This is my little lot. Yamaha BBT500H (bloody love that amp) Behringer Bass V-Amp Pro (think it sounds great for the price of it) Peavey 410TX and 210TX (great for the money, takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'!) Peavey Minx 110 Line 6 Bass Pod Live XT Dean Performer Acoustic (all my bedroom practice-gear)
24. I hope i don't upset too many sensitive souls on here who don't like feelers ( ) but i'm thinking of parting with my Warwick Katana 5-String. I've had it for about 3/4months, and it was love at first sight. I recently upgraded the hardware to all black, and it has the most versatile tones of any bass i've played. The twin jazz pups cut through the mix like butter (hence the naming of it the Katana) and can go from smooth and round to gnarly-as-you-like. Its never been gigged, just home use and a day of session work. Its swamp-ash body finished in "Honey Violin", with a 24-fret evangkol and wenge neck. Its in superb condition, and i bloody loves it......... but....... I'm not sure if i should persevere with it, but i just sometimes feel like i'm "fighting" with it. I've had the bridge adjusted so its at its maximum string spacing (which is about 17mm) but i've got big ol' hands (i'm 6'6") and i'm finding it difficult to get any precise popping action going on. I'm just checking around to see if anyone might possibly want to trade something for it. Preferably another 5-string of similar value (unless its a proper special 4-string) and i'd consider lower-priced basses with a cash adjustment. This cost £1200, with another £75 for the upgraded hardware. Anyway, just thought i'd see if anyone might be interested.
25. Man, i wish i had the money for that Washboard, they're bloody lovely..... Have a free bump Amigo.
