1. I've decided to get rid of my Peterson Strobostomp tuner, basically because I just don't like the readout on it. I've had some history with this.... I bought it, and for the first time a few months ago decided to plug it into a mains adaptor, and it went bang. It was officially dead, smoke and everything, so I contacted Peterson to see if any replacement parts could be bought. They were more than amazing and sent me the whole new innards for it, so the only original thing I had to keep was the metal casing. (the blowout was my fault, its american voltage and polarity and I just overloaded it with the adaptor I used. Using it on the battery is fine though, and it last forever....) I fitted the new guts, and its obviously as amazing as it should be now. The only thing to intrigue me now is that the note encolsed with the new insides said "We've sent you the new improved version." As I looked and compared it to the old insides it was true, this one has one more switch inside the battery compartment (3 instead of 2) and my only guess is that they've sent me the new Strobostomp II innards (although i'm not postive.) Anyhow, everyone knows how superb these things are. Here's the link to the Peterson website so you can read for yourself why they're regarded as probably the best stage tuner available; http://www.petersontuners.com/ But the website should just say; Does everthing, its bloody great. You can save your own preferred odd-tunings, its got settings for basses/guitars whatever, including the buzz-feiten system, plus tonnes of other stuff for capo tunings/drop tunings, a D.I output, and god knows whatever else. My only problem is that I just don't like the display readout. It takes me ages to remember which way is flat/sharp and it just gets on my tits. So what i'm after ideally is a swap with or without cash adjustment. I'm after a decent pedal tuner, but may be tempted with a rack tuner (not Behringer, already got one and the trackings toooooo bloody slow for me.) May also possibly be tempted with a multi-fx, let me know what you have... Its never been gigged or even taken to rehearsals, i've had a cheapo behringer tuner pedal in my floorboard. Anyway, heres the beasty shown working (so you know i'm not flogging a lemon) and let me know if there's any interest. Cheers!
2. Righty-ho, I've had this sat around for bloody years and i'm never going to get around to doing anything with it, so its up here as a freebie to anyone interested.... Its actually a Squier bass from the early 90's, but i've never seen one in the same shape since. It began life as being black, then I sanded it to its natural finish as it is now. If you wanted to get it up and running again you'd need new everything, (pups, bridge, jack) maybe the meachineheads are ok but I think the rest is kaput. But the neck has a lovely fast slim profile to it, and when it was my main gigging bass (around '94) it sounded bloody lovely. Anyway, its here with me in North London (Enfield) and I want it gone, so first to collect it can have it. Please don't ask me to post it because I really can't be arsed to box it up and make the trip to the post office, unless you were gonna offer me some strings or straplocks or something, then I might be persuaded.... Anyway, here it is. The pics are crap, but then its not exactly a 2G custom bass....
3. Lead guitarists.....Grrrr...... Best of luck to you Peter mate, its always a massive learning curve when you join a band and play with other people, and even if this particular project hasn't worked out this time just remember that no experience is wasted. Keep plugging away at it though my good man, something will present itself to you soon enough.
4. Hey again matey, if its still up for grabs i'll take..... Chord Bassics http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/020/details.html £3 posted Cheers! Just let me know your PayPal addy and i'll send over the cash plus the extra 50p. Lovely job!
5. I'll have it! Cheers amigo, what a star you are. I'll PP you right now.....
6.
Is this still for sale please?
It most certainly is... I was going to hang on to it, but I really can't see me using it anytime soon so it might as well go to a new loving home.
7. After buying a new 4x10 at the weekend this is definitely surplus to requirements, so it really does need a new home. I'll possibly now trade it for a set of passive Jazz pickups, and i'm also interested in either a tremelo or octave pedal. Anyone before the dreaded eBay.....?
8. Cheers for the cab my good man, its bloody lovely and I can't wait to gig it at the weekend.
9. I've just put this on your other thread, but i'll have the 3U if its shallow depth. Cheers dude!
10. If the 3U is shallow depth then i'll have the bugger! Can you PM and let me know when you get chance please dude. Cheers!
11. Yep lovely job, just bought a pedal from him and it arrived exactly as expected, well packaged and posted quickly. Cheers fella!
12. Apologies for not answering the questions sooner fellas, but here's the best I can do.... The dimensions are 43cm depth, 56cm width and 61cm height. It was built by Ian (chopthebass) on here, but as far as i'm aware he's now moved to Canada so obtaining any more information could be quite difficult! It looks like its been built by standard chipboard or some such wood, but its difficult to tell by just picking it up as there's no wood on view to see. Its got heavy duty black metal handles, and yes its front ported. Last bump on here before I decide to keep it.
13.
Hi. Are you bringing the 15" cab back down to Bristol at all? cheers Matt
Yeah I can do, i'm going around that area next weekend (30th/31st) so I could bring it with me....
14. Well I need the space now, so the Ashdown copy is up for £60. I think thats a fair price for a fantastic sounding 15" cab.
15. I've got some from a jaco-jazz copy I bought, PM me your address and stuff and i'll chuck them in the post to you. If you could PayPal me a couple of quid to cover the postage that would be great.
16. Thank god someone's bought this, I was busting a gut and ready to sell my kindeys to get the money together to buy this! A bargain indeed sir.
17. Peavey sold pending the usual stuff...... Ashdown still available, sounds fantastic folks.....
18.
Hi, do you know if the peavey is fitted with Sheffield® TVX 1035-8 speakers?, I may be interested in converting it into a stereo 8ohm combo. any chance for a price for shipping also - thanks. Justin
Sorry mate, really haven't got a clue what the driver is without opening it up and looking at it, and its gonna be 100 miles away from me for the next couple of weeks! And in all honesty it would be crazy money to ship it, these things aren't known for their portability....
19. Man i'd love this, but no cash till the end of the month... Have a bump on me for a fantastic practice amp.
20. Ashdown copy 1x15 cab, its 300 watts and 4ohm. Built with original Ashdown grill and covering, it has twin Speakons at the back and apart from some of the covering coming away a little round the back (but thats literally a 5 minute super glue job i'll try to get done a.s.a.p) is in superb condition. Fitted with a Fane driver, I recently listened to this side by side with an authentic Ashdown 1x15 and to me it sounded better, much less wooly and much more responsive, especially with a low B. It comes with a fitted cover, and really does sound super schweeeeeeet. Heres the tasty little sexpot...... Now after £60 for this, or will trade for bass stuff. I'm ideally after a set of passive Jazz pickups, but also interested in maybe a octave or tremelo pedal. This is with me in North London so its ready for collection, or I can possibly deliver either of these to Norfolk/Suffolk/Essex, or most places between London and Bristol. Cheers y'all!
21. How good condition is it matey? I might know someone after one, any chance of pics? Cheers!
22. Lovely job, thanks everyone, i'll get on it!
23. I bought my first neck-through bass recently, and I need to find someone to set the bugger up for me. I've done the best I can with it, but I like my action to be as low as possible, and with this neck-through design I just can't seem to lower it enough. Normally I would put a shim in the help it out a little, but thats a no-go on this. If anyone knows someone who might be able to do this for a reasonable price then please let me know. I'd much rather the cash went to a BC-er than a faceless shop who'll charge silly money for a half-hours work! Cheers y'all.
24. Yeah if you decide to split it then gimme first dibs on the 4x10! As far as i'm aware all the Yammy cabs are 4ohm. And are you interestede in amps or basses as possible trades? Cheers!
