1. Nope. But I got in contact with Alan yesterday and ordered some new S.I.T. strings for it!! Replacements aren't that bad to get hold of. The highest and lowest are the ones which you can't get at local store. But Warwick and Circle K do them as well as S.I.T. The S.I.T. ones last ages before losing their brightness, so highly recommended Once again guys, thnaks for all the kind words. It is very much appreciated. I'm trying to look as this in a positive light. I can still play (which is something I couldn't do when I first got ill) and this is a chance to get another fantastic instrument. An opportunity which I'm lucky to have, especially as funds get a bit squeezed when you can't work.
2. Thanks again for all the kind words guys. It's really appreciated. I've had a couple of really interesting offers for trades. I've had a think and: Trade-wise, 5, & 6 strings fretted and fretless. If you have interesting idea then I'm willing to listen. If you're coming to this late, the price for the 9 is £2800 o.n.o.
3. Oh I don't know Dan. Could be just the thing. Thanks for your kind words.
Anything you want to trade for it man? Have a look in my sig. I'd love this to be part of my ERB fleet.
Thanks for your message Binky. Sorry but the Nordstrand isn't really my thing. I do really appreciate your offer though. Trade wise: Really looking a 5's or 6's. Fretted or fretless as I play both. As for brands, well Sei would be a first choice. Feel free to throw ideas at me though. There are too many brands to try and name
4.
Bring it to the EA Bassbash, you might find a buyer :-P
It's an awful long way from Glasgow, but if anyone is really a definite buyer then I would personally deliver it or meet up with them within a couple of hundred miles or so from Glasgow.
5. Thanks a lot for all the kind word guys. It is much appreciated, more so because times have been so hard. I won't even go into changing of medications and the side effects. Turning into a hermit as well !! I'm still managing to play, just nowhere near as much as I did.
6. Thanks Charic. It's all in fourths so it's a lot easier to play than it looks!!
7. Unfortunately, I've come to the point where I'm having to sell my 9 string. As some here know, I suffer from M.E./CFS and chronic pain and have done for 6 years now. I don't play bass or guitar anywhere near the amount I used to (hence I haven't been on here much lately) and the 9 is really getting neglected. It's a fantastic instrument, brilliantly built by Alan, but as I say I don't really have the physical strength anymore. Not that this bass needs a player to be built like Arnie, I'm just not up to it. The bass is in brilliant condition. I can't gig, can't work and hardly go out of the house(!) so its literally only been outside on a few occasions. Spec: Body: Ash w/mahogany top Neck: Maple/wenge Pickups: ACG w/Hipshot piezo bridge Electronics: ACG-01 preamp, low battery indicator, switches for coil tap & piezo on/off. Comes with a Hiscox case. Price is £2800 o.n.o. If you have an idea for a trade + cash then just PM me. Serious enquiries only please. Trades + cash is always an option, just let me know what you have. Looking at 5's or 6's fretted or fretless. Sei is the first preference, but throw any serious ideas my way!
8. I found this hanging on the wall at the local Cash Generator store It just needed some TLC and a new jack to bring it back to life. Sounds absolutely huge and great with a pick. Muted lines sounds especially great.
9. Sadowsky do a Restoration Polish which could do what you want. If it's just a clean then lighter fluid is good to get rid of marks (be careful, well ventilated area, wash cloth after use), likewise saliva or moist breath. For polish, anything from a guitar store is good, but avoid silicones if looking elsewhere. I use a a Gibson Hi-Gloss polish which is great (comes in a pack with string cleaner and fingerboard conditioner).
10. Fair enough!! Tyler's best known for his guitars. The colours of which include 'Burning Water' and 'Psychedelic Vomit' ! If the Sei was a 5 string I would have bought it outright.
11. How about a James Tyler 4 string. That Sei is the only bass I'd ever trade it for. (It came from the Bass Gallery as well) To everyone else reading this, I've played that Melt bass a few times and it is awesome.
12. I do like that Siggery bass. He makes some great guitars as well.
13. Really sorry to hear about your circumstances. Hope 2012 gets better for you.
14. That is a truly wonderful bass. The coin is a lovely touch as well. My Mum helped me spec my Sei bass which makes it that much more special.
15. Had to go and find the website after seeing this and there's a few different brands on there. Loads of bass eye candy. Some really great looking basses!
16. I sold my pedal steel to Dave and he couldn't have been a nicer guy to sell to. No problems at all, every communication was clear, payment was quick as well. Truly a pleasure to deal with!
17. I use http://www.p4d.co.uk and get a choice of DHL, City Link, Parcelforce etc. Used them a few times now and no problems. Their customer service is pretty darn good as well.
18. Yeah, the learning curve is a bit steep. Worth it for the sound though!!
19. This pedal steel was made in the States in the 80's and is a "Little Buddy" made by the USA Guitar Company. As with most pedal steels it has 10 strings and is tuned to E9. Having only(!) 3 pedals and 1 knee lever to change the pitch of the strings it's a beginner's model. An ex-pro player was good enough to come over and give me a few pointers a couple of weeks ago. He played this Little Buddy and said that it's pretty good. It may not have the finesse of a pro model but they cost thousands! I have been careful to use the correct cleaners and lubricants to make sure it plays as well as it can. I even searched out an oil which is used for guns as it's light, doesn't gum up metal parts and contains Teflon! This pedal steel comes with it's big hard case, the copedent chart which lists the string gauges and how much each pedal/lever raises or lowers each string (steels just use electric guitar strings), an Emmons learning course and a old copy of a Pedal Steel Guitar by Winnie Winston which is considered the bible of pedal steel tuition. The only problem is that the little button of one of the tuning keys is missing! That's all! The tuner still works though! A Little Buddy pedal steel, in black, is currently on eBay for £500. I'm asking £400 o.n.o. Postage inside the UK will be £20. This is a great way to get into pedal steel. Maybe you just want to have this in a studio for Pink Floyd moments or want to get into this unique instrument. Nothing sounds like a pedal steel!! If you need any more info or photos, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
