5. This is my favourite, purely for its simplicity, sorry about the quality but it is a copy from a tape of a tape x 2 then converted to mp3. Was recorded for a single but never released in 1979(ish). https://soundcloud.com/arc-rock/plastic-girl
6. This is what James Jamerson was all about, very subtle bass lines that by and large didn't overpower the song but it is only when you really listened to them in the songs you realised how his technique shaped the song and made it what it was. As they say it's all about the groove. Hope i've explained that well enough
7. yep a really good read filled with some good info. the only thing i didn't like was the size of the book would have been better if it was a bit more compact but that's me being a fussy old git :-)
8. Bought s decal for a sixties build project but bought a vintage neck that already has the decal on, so have this for sale as no longer required. Bought it from here http://www.northwestguitars.co.uk/replica-fender-61-63-precision-bass-waterslide-decal/ £14 delivered (which is what I paid and I'll include my receipt in the package). Bank transfer if possible. Cheers Tony
9. Thanks Skankdelvar much appreciated, also thanks to everyone else.
10. I'm soon to embark on a FrankenFender project to build a 60s Precision bass. I've got a vintage 60's Mighty Might neck (Rosewood) and really wanted a Sunburst body but can't seem to find one for a reasonable price. I don't think my spraying skills will be up to doing a sunburst finish so I've resigned myself into probably buying a bare body and spraying it myself. To keep it authentic looking i want to use a colour that would have been available in the 60's (60 - 68), apart from the obvious Sunburst, Artic White and Natural, what other colours were available? Googling it doesn't seem to get me anywhere for a definitive list. Any help much appreciated. Cheers
11.
I had to take 10 years off with a similar non sock related injury.
Been there and done that 30 years ago and still suffering, no wonder my chiropracter can afford to buy vintage Fender strats!!
12. Will be looking at this with interest over the coming weeks/months. The decal is the worst part for me so easy to screw up. Are you going to be re-spraying the body or stripping it down to bear wood?

14. I did enjoy that, without looking I scored 86 out of 100 by naming either the song or band
15. A Bontempi Bass (Woolies Special) feckin awful, the action was higher than an electric pylon!! but it did its job before I did a "Who" special on it one practice session.

18.
If I like something I like it, and I'll explain why to anyone who is interested. I don't understand why anyone would feel guilty or embarrassed about such a thing.
Spot on, i was embarrassed at liking certain records when I was younger but now don't give damn what people think, I like it because I like it. Uriah Heep - Top band, absolutely lover the Byron era especially when Gary Thain was the Bass player.
19. Welcome to BC - have fun By the way, some really nice gear you have there.
