I had mixed feelings about the bass gallery. Not as good as the hype suggests. But better than stores on Denmark street! Think Bass Gear in Reading will be worth a visit next time I am down that way!

With in the space of one month I have recently bought two items from Julian, a genz benz stl 2x10 cab and then a genz benz stl 6.0 12T. He very easy to deal with. Initially I picked up the cab from his work place which was a bit of a trek, however when I purchased the next item he kindly arranged for his work colleague who lived near to me to trandport it so I could collect it locally. The conditioin of the equipment is immaculate, very well looked after. He also waited until I had the full funds to purchase, despite other people wanting to purchase, could not impress enough how great this guy is to deal with. A+++

Currently I have the genz Benz stl 3.0 combo. Even when I add a 2x10 cab, it does not seem loud enough. I need it only to be backline as the band goes through FOH. I gave given some thought to upgrading to the 6.2 I may need some grit for rockbsongs, but also play dance and funk, usual function stuff. I Woyld appreciate any thoughts on the difference in the sounds of the heads. Earlier in the thread it is suggested that the great sound of the 3.0 FET can only be found in the 9.0 or 9.2. What does the clean channel on the 6.2 sound in comparison? Thanks in advance.

It's the depth I have a slight issue with. Can play as quick or as fluid on more technical lines. I found the string spacing to be wider than the bass collection. But I prefer it for slap lines. Much easier on the Spector. I believe the doug wimbish model has a thinner neck. I am using a genz Benz 3.0 at the mo. But will be selling that for a 6.2 model. Just not quite loud enough despite going through p.a. Our function act blasts out dance and rocks tunes! Sound very clean through genz much better than my old abm 500. Uk made amp. I have played through GK 700rbii. That sounded great also.

I have a euro and I put in an Aguilar obp3 pre amp. Gives me much more sound scope great basses. Quite heavy after a long gig. But the sounds in the wood, but that's compared to my back up which is a very light bass collection sb320, which I put the tone pump in. Seems to work well in that bass with Bart pups! I just wish the euro neck was thinner! I have a rebop cherry red 4 string for sale if anyone knows someone who wants it! Out of interest what amps do you all pair up with your spectors.
