1. Need to pay my phone bill before my phone gets cut off bump. Happy to take less than sensible offers.
2.
Is that a russian muff pi I spy? I guess that one isn't up for sale?
it is indeed. Very much not for sale. Sorry.
3.
sounds like crikey!'s tour can be summarised with the sentence 'get a decent van'.
Won't be making that mistake again. 30,000 miles in a 1993 ford transit costing £500.
4. Our last tour has been dubbed the Disastour... had to do the whole thing without our frontman when he got contracted 15 weeks work the week before we left. 1st day away the vans wheel bearing exploded, taking the stubb axle with it. 4 cancelled gigs and £350 in repairs. Picked the van up on the monday and drove to Reading. Van broke down outside the venue, got towed home, arrived at 6am. up at 8am to start repairing the van, arrived at the gig an hour late to find none of the rest of the band had arrived either. 4 days later, the other wheel comes away when the ball joint fails. got towed to an industrial estate in leeds. Had to unload the entire van while it was still on the back of a truck because it was being backed up to a wall. Stood in the rain for 2 hours, using our clothes to cover our gear waiting for our mates van to come and take us to the gig. arrived at the gig 10 minutes before we were due on stage. Did the gig soaking wet and freezing cold. Got a lift back home with all our gear that night (arriving at 6am again) and cancelled another 3 days of tour. Carried on 3 days later in Ipswich in 2 cars. Did the gig, one car was borrowed and had to be taken back. 3 of us left in Ipswich with a 2 seat car. Next day, drove to Halifax, arranged to meet the other band by the football stadium. Waited 2 hours, other guys went to get food just as the other band arrived. Then had to wait for them to come back... 3 hours behind schedule we set off for Halifax, 7 people and all our gear squeezed in to 7 seats in 2 cars. Got to Halifax, drank too much, fights occurred between band + punters... arguments ensued with the landlord and security, support bands singer/guitarist leaves never to return. Driver then wakes up still drunk, 2 hours behind schedule after staying up drunking til 8 am. Get to the next gig (gateshead) support decide to leave the tour that night. continuing the tour on our own, we go to Hull. Do the gig in Hull, leaving the next day, car number 2 has lost the key for the petrol cap. Petrol cap has to be broken off, car 2 goes home, taking 4 out of 6 band members with it. Forgot to mention, car number 2 is a 1982 mini that doesn't start, it needs bump starting EVERY time. anyway me and the guitarist are left in Hull, with all the gear, no gig and nowhere to go. no battery on either of our phones. Walked in to town, bought a phone charger, got my phone working, found a place to stay in manchester (after having to pull out of the liverpool gig that night) Then we drove to nottingham... met up with the rest of the guys again, went home that night. Had a day off. Tour finished up on the saturday at Camden underworld. We're on stage at 6pm, frontman arrives at 6.30pm. Next tour was due to start on Friday. Turns out 3 of the band haven't booked this tour off work. first half of the tour is cancelled completely for us... Disastour.
5. bump. Now reluctantly for sale, still prefer trades where possible.
6. Clearing out all the pedals that I don't use every night. These have all been toured and are cosmetically not perfect but all function perfectly and always have without a problem. Behringer EQ Pedal - EQ700 - £10 posted Zoom 506 II Bass Multi FX - £15 posted Will accept payment via paypal or bank transfer or cash on collection (minus postage). Cheers for looking.
7.
Can you put it up to about £800 so I don`t keep looking at my bank balance Amazing looking bass.
I wish i could get £800 for it. Then i could play bass AND eat this summer.
8. Trade wise im leaning towards jazzs or Warwick corvettes... The Corvette being the only Warwick ive ever liked. or something Stingray ish. Open to any offers though.
9.
Got a Warmoth 54 P-Bass in Gold Sparkle. Loved its tone, but had the chance to get a original 51' so.. Picture attached Here are the specs: Mahogany Body featuring a 'Daze-O-Matic'® Gold Sparkle Finish Wenge Neck with Ebony Fingerboard Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder Pickup CTS 500k Pots Gold Electrosocket & Paper in Oil Cap Schaller Tuners Gotoh 201 Bridge Warwick Just a Nut III Schaller Strap Locks Gold knobs & String tree Includes Later Era Gold Precision Bridge Cover
wow. Not sure the P sound is for me right now. That is... a statement of a bass. Maybe one day. Thanks.
10.
Oh that is just lovely! What would you value it at in terms of trades and/or even an outright purchase?
Thanks. Obviously it's not a true Fender... but with the parts involved i'd imagine it's of equal value to a Jap Fender... but im very open to offers at the moment. Not sure i can do a straight sale, as this is my main and only reliable bass and I can't really risk being without an instrument for too long. If it was to be a straight sale i'd probably let it go for £350.
11. some interest but still available. can be heard in this vid: http://youtu.be/lBp17sEoLdI
12. I've decided to put this up for trade. Ive been touring it for just over a month now and its been an absolute joy to play, but doesn't quite sound right for the music i'm playing. This is the original description i got from Rasta when i got the bass. "The P bass has a mighty might maple neck with 60's Fender Precision logo done rather well, US Fender Pick ups, Ryder Sonic blue body, Tort Scratch plate, CTS pots and string through body oh & a P ash tray (its made to look like a 60's reissue) - plays beautifully - the neck is great - as good if not better than my old Fender 57 Jap P. " It really is a very good bass. i've been debating whether to keep it for a while but ive basically decided to keep on swapping until i find something i wana stick with. here's some terrible phone pics: Theres a few dings but it's in generally pretty good condition. I'm open to anything trade wise, so let us know what you've got. I've sold some other things so this is no longer for sale, just looking for trades. Ben
13. This is the best pic i could find of my rig... Fender Precision> Fender Tuner> Russian Big Muff> Behringer EQ> Boss SYB-5> Boss LMB-3> Orange Bass Terror > Ashdown ABM810. LOUD. The ABM is ancient... thinking about going for an SVT pretty soon, they seem to work better with the Orange. Considering trading the Precision too.
14. Just finished a tour with the OTB. No problems with it at all. Sounds amazing with a Fender P through an SVT cab. Got it in a flightcase now ready for more touring... I don't know how people don't like these amps. Plus it looks hilarious sat on top of my 8x10. keeps me happy every night.
15. any chance i can try htis out? been thinking about one of these.
16. been touring one of these for 3 weeks now through my abm810. This thing is huge. it fills 300 capacity venues with the volume between 1 and 2. absolutely insane amount of volume.
17. I either use everything i own, or its of no value to anyone because it just doesn't work any more... Ive been in this position a few times but ive always needed all the gear I own, and had to find other things to sell. If i thought i could get any money for them, i'd sell my first few basses. The ones with pickups missing, no paint dodgy fitting hardware... The pedals could go before anything else. Then the 810... and i'd borrow cabs... if it got worse, the orange amp could go, DI the bass. If not, i'll sleep on the street and use my hardcase as a roof.
18. I dont even own a gig bag. The hardcase is relentlessly thrown around vans/venues most nights of the week. just couldnt ever risk it. plus a hardcase is easier to tape/stencil up with band names etc.
19. If this was a different colour i think i'd have bought it by now... Is the grey really as light as it looks in those pictures?
20. aaaand this is what happens on tour: TOUR VID 1
21. bump for tour being in full swing...
22. May be up for trade soon.
23.
I would let my Stingray go for about the £600 mark mate. its in the buying section, not black and maple though. Check it out, defo lighter bass than my MM Sub as well.
Will PM you mate. Anyone got any experience with the Ray34s? Could be an option.
24. I think im gona have to keep an eye out for a bargain... I'd love a used ray, Black and maple. I'm gona have to find me some work. Cheers guys. Any more suggestions would be appreciated though, might be something i havent thought of yet.
