1. Any B3 owners who want to share their preferred overdrive settings? I haven't found anything that works in my band, but I have found both the BB Bass Drive and Sansamp emulation nice for home practice - but in a band situation I really don't think it works all that good. I need a reasonable smooth overdrive, for straight 70's rock and pop. Thank you for sharing
2.
What don't you like about the tone of an MIM?
I had the Fender Classic Series '50s model, and I just never godt used to the wide neck and the tone of the bass. The Sandberg Electra is much better in my opinion
3. Thanks for posting everybody, let me explain a bit more. I already own a Sandberg Electra, the best bass I have ever owned. I also have had MIM Fenders, and honestly I wasn't impressed with the tone. Wihout checking prices I think Maruszczyk and Schecter is priced way higher. Yamaha and G&L sounds interesting, I will check them out. Squier is always interesting, I've had a few of those and I will ry them sode by side to the Yamaha and G&L. Thanks to everybody who contributed
4. I have played the Electra series, both jazz and P-bass. I actually own the P bass, and in my opinion it's a winner. I've had Fender mexican P-basses too, but the Electra is my preferred choice. If it was stolen or broken I would get a new one without any hesitation - can't recommend it enough!
5. I am looking for a new P-bass, no more expensive than the obvious choice - a Fender mexican edition. I really don't care what name is on the headstock - anyone have recommandtions for good choices within that price range? Good sound and quality built are my requirements

Zoom B3
When you've created a new patch just save it where you want , for example, A1, A2, A3 etc. This replaces the factory preset. For stand alone effects do you mean move them around in the effects list? They can't be moved but you'll soon get to know the order of the list and it only takes a few seconds to scroll round the list to find your favourites.
Thanks ratman, that was just what I meant
7. I have the 15" model. I have used it for a few smaller gigs, and in practice with a band. Loud little thing - but I wouldn't use it with a loud rock band

Zoom B3

I just got around to mess around with my B3. Is there a way to delete or create new patches, so the few patches I want is stored First in the bank? Can't remember how many patches there are from the factory, but are there room for additional patches you make yourself, or do you have to delete some of the presets first? Same thing with the stand alene effects, can they be moved, so my favorite effects are stored just beside each other? I'm not that tecnical, but I hope to get to know the B3 so I can get as most out of it as possible. Sorry for the newbie questions
9.
Can you post some pictures.
Sorry, don't have any at the moment
10. Been offered this head, as a trade for my Hartke LH500. I don't know much about the TE head - but I played a TE combo once, and it sounded great. Maybe some of you can fill in some of the blanks - is it 300 watt at 4 ohm, and how would you compare it with the Hartke? Been using the Hartke (actually with a Trace Elliot 4x10 cab), but not completely happy with the sound. I replaced the Hartke with a TC Electronic, and it sounds great with the TE cab. I am setting up another rig, and have been offered the Trace Elliot GP12 head for my Hartke LH500.
11. Thanks for your input guys. I will take a closer look at the BC212
12. I am using both 4x10" at the moment, along with a 1x15" - hooked up to a 500 watt head. I am thinking of moving towards a 12" setup, two cabs with 2x12" og 4x12" in all. I like the tone I hear from EBS CL 112 EBS ClassicLine 112 - Mini Size Configuration 1x 12" + 2" Frequency Response 35 - 18k Hz Sensitivity 94 dB Power Rating 250 W RMS Impedance 8 ohms Height 38 cm / 15" Width 49 cm / 19" Depth 34 cm / 13" Weight 17.5 kg / 39 lbs The TC Electronic BC 212 are almost as good (but obviously has 2 speakers) TC Electronic are about to roll out their new line of cabs, the K cabs (also 2x12") If I were to hook up 2 of the above cabs to a 500 watt head, what should I go for? I would really appreciate all inputs, experiences etc. I am moving to 12" due to weight and tone - I really care a lot about tone.
13. Been offered a combo (2x10 + a 15" ext. cab) for about £130. Is that a good amp, soundwise? I was actually thinking of getting a Ampeg PF 350, for the cab I already have, can the Ashdown producere the same power and quality tone?
14. If you are thinking of getting a TC Electronic BH 500 bass head (like me), you should get it now. I just learned that it's gone out of production, and the company will focus on their BH 550 instead. The BH 500 is great for the price, so if you want one - and see one left in the shop - get it now
15. Thanks, I'll go with "smoother" rather than "louder". I had a Behringer BVT 5500 a very short while. It was loud, but smoothit was NOT. That one had to go, so at the moment I use a Gallien Krueger MB200. Great little thing, but I was hoping than getting 500 watt would give me more power, that the 200 I have now.
16.
I've got both amps & I love them both! If you can afford both, get them both, as they are equally loud but have differing features. The LH500 has a simpler EQ, a good Valve Pre Amp & an effects loop. The BH500 has a tuner & mute facility, a great compressor and a more expansive EQ.
Thank you for answering. At the moment I have a 400 watt 4x10" Warwick cab (4 ohm). How about the tone from the two amps, do they sound the same, or is one "warmer/fuller" sounding than the other?
17. Looking for a powerful and low priced head. I like both the TC Electronic BH500 and Hartke LH500. Both within the desired price range and wattage. For playing party music from the 60/70/80's and no metal whatsoever, what are your thoughts on these? Alternatives in the same category would be welcome, thanks
18. Actually I went for a Fender 50's Classic. I picked out 3 Squiers and 2 Fenders, and sat down with them for an hour. After one hour, this one came out a winner
19. A guy I know actually bought a Affinity P bass. Got a used US Fender pickup and put it into his Affinity. He's now a happy bassplayer. Thank you for all your help, I will try out all 3 CV P basses, If I can find a shop somewhere, that has them in stock
20. Thank you for info, yellowcar - Nice to know
21. I'm done with Jazz basses, just sold the one I had. Now I'm looking for a buddy for my Sandberg P-bass. It's gonna be a Squier, on that I'm pretty sure, but what model? First I was thinking on the fretless P, but then there are the Matt Freeman model, the Classic Vibe, the Vintage Modified..... There are no retailers I can try them all out at, so I try to get you guys to point me in the right direction. What Squier P-bass will be a good choice? I play in two bands (southern rock and a folk/blues band) The tone are nice from the fretless I'm told - but so are the Matt Freeman. I'm looking for a fat, rich oomph from the bass, and an easy playable versatile instrument to handle. BTW - I will be putting flatwounds on it, the second I get it What to do, folks?
22. I have Fender flatwounds on my P-bass, and I love the tone I get. I tried flats on my J-bass, but I really didn't like it much - so I actually sold the Jazz bass I'm mostly a P-bass guy, so I better run out and get another P instead of the J I sold - and Fender flats will be on it in a jiffy
23. Yep. I put some flats on it, and I like the tone it gives me - so I now have flats on all my basses
24. I like flatwounds - I have them on my P bass, and it sounds great. The other day I was putting flatwounds on my J bass, and I don't think it sounds all that great. Then I got the idea of putting them on my SR600 instead. Anyone using flatwounds on their SR bass - and do you like the tone you get?
25. Hi Can anyone tell me about a ten years old HA5000? Worth buying? I don't know about the 2x250 watt thing, but I have 2 400 watt cabs at 4 ohm, is that a go or no go? What ohms can the HA500 operate with, and would a new LH500 be a better choice? I think I could get a new LH500 for twice the price I will have to pay for the ten years old HA5000. Thanks for all info
