  1. A little follow up. I got a fairly cheap acoustic bass a couple of weeks ago. It was a second hand item, so it was €45. For that price it needed som attention, so it spent a few days with a luthier I know. After a complete setup it was a pleasure to play unplugged. People who say that acoustic basses are useless must be doing something wrong. I like sitting at home doodling on my cheap acoustic bass unplugged - I play that thing more that I plug in one of my electric basses. Plugged in at practice with the band is another world. Feedback is a thing to take into consideration - there are ways around it, but you should know it takes some adjustment. The sound (plugged in) isn’t as smooth as it is unplugged - but I would suggest everyone to try an acoustic at home - it’s pretty fun
  2. Hope I hear your thoughts of it when you get it
  3. Anyone got an acoustic bass Ibanez acoustic basses
  4. Any experience with Ibanez acoustic basses? It will not be my main bass, just something to grab for a session with a couple of acoustic guitars. I plan to plug it in Ibanez

  8. I am looking at a left hand acoustic guitar at a good price - only thing is that I am right handed. Would it be needing work on the nut/saddle to play it ”right handed” (a reversed Hendrix?)?
  9. I am currently looking for Yamaha -should be good value for the money. If you can find a Yamaha LL - go for it
  10. Ignition is made in China, right? Where is the Contemporary made?
  11. We have a practice room and and need a bit more power for the vocals. Got hold of a Europower (2x250 watt) mixer and an active monitor (The Box MA 100). I would like some more balls and power from the system, do you guys recommend larger (active/passive?) monitors or a sub? Newbie into the world of PA
  12. Those I know who have tried it complains about it not being quiet, but a lot of hum. Since it’s hard to get inside to the electronic stuff I guess it would be hard to fix
  13. Are they any good?
  14. Yep, I have a cheap copy of the Beatles bass. I like it, even that it's a cheap discount bass from Harley Benton
  15. I am looking for a semi hollow bass. From a YouTube search I had my money ready for the cheap Harley Benton - I also hear some people complain about the noise from it, and since it’s a hollow body, it’s not easy to get in and shield the electronics. Any suggestions to something midpricey semi hollows you have experience with? Epiphone’s Jack Cassidy should be good, but also it bit over my budget. Help my out guys
  16. More and more companies are selling small power amps, EHX even has a few in their normal pedal sized casings. Have you ever used on, perhaps this little low-price 100 watt from Harley Benton https://youtu.be/r-zwQiXnm9o?si=V4AzgrxTekYrVfmc
  17. Thanks for your help, and yes - the bass is in good condition (although the P-pickup wasn't right on the dot....but it is now)
  18. Thanks a lot for answering
  19. What compressor in the Zoom multifx do you use, and can you show me/explain what settings you use? I need the compressor to even out the output from the different strings on my bass. Thank you
  20. The tiny Harley Benton power amp, will that work on bass too? Would fit nice on a board along with a Zoom multifx.
  21. Looks great Al Krow, I don’t have my Zoom here at Home at the moment, but I will give your patch a spin when I get the chance. Thanks mate
  22. Thank you kind Sir ;-)
  23. Can you share the settings used for this patch?
  24. N These days I just use the tuner and the Sansamp clone
  25. I have seen a pic, not the most pretty bass, but I pick sound over looks
