Playing with my amp, I thought one way to get that sound, was to cut the mids all the way (directly the other way of Lemmy's sound).

I grew up on bands like Overkill, Exodus, Anthrax etc. and always liked the way the bass sounded on many thrash bands - a "ringing" clanky tone. Anyone knows if it's the amp settings, effects or string action that brings out that tone? Tommy Goober from Toy Dolls has his own way of getting a very unique sound, very low string action 😉

Hi I am looking for a protective thingie for my amp. What term should I be using when looking something online - a rack, a case (some cases are explained as 2u or 3u - I just want a cheap way of protecting my amp when I tranport it to a gig etc.

Got a lot of good old Trace Elliot stuff, so I am trying various combinations. If anyone already has tried to match different cabs, what are your experiences putting two cabs together? Currently I have a EBS head linkes to three TE cabs, but the TE head can’t go under 4 ohm - so two cabs is the limit with the TE HEAD

The price are almost identical, so what say ye: Mooer Tender Octaver or the TC Electronics SUB ‘n’ Up? Main focus is the to - a nice warm bass tone is essential

I have both (Bass Soul Food + MojoMojo) on my board. I prefer the BSF because I think the Mojo is pretty dark and "Motown-sounding". The Mojo is nice in its own way, but if I should pick just one ....

Got one, and I really like it. Looking for something just like that for another pedal board - doens't have to get wilder than this....and the blend function is essential. Any suggestions?

Been looking for a new P-bass, and are focusing on the Steve Harris bass...or maybe even Nate Mendel bass. From Youtube comparisons I like the SH tone better than the NM. Any comments, experiences etc? Thanks

Thank you for that great insight. I have two other Trace amps, but this AH500X is by far the heaviest. Big, beat up and only working on one channel (originally a 2x500 watt amp) but monsterous sounding.

Really? You prefer the MAG? I can get the MAG 600 for a third of what the AMB 500 cost. I have horrible stories og the MAGs blowing fuses constantly, anything you have experienced? Thanks for your input

Thinking of replacing my bass head with an Ashdown. I have two offers to choose from, the ABM and the MAG. Price is almost the same. I will be playing through a Trace Elliot 1x15 and a 2x10. Can you help me pick the best head of the two (or maybe point my interest towards a GK instead)? I play blues, rock and hard rock Thanks
