    Guess many people put off by my close ups of scratches etc - in the flesh they are less than it seems but, being a picky buyer myself, can't really fault them... However the bass is really wonderful, I wouldn't sell but I've come to realise I can only handle fretted 5ers with minimal competence...

    The OP means I guess that it alters the basic tone of the bass. A compressor obviously will affect dynamics, but it can be more or less transparent. Another issue is, if the tone is affected, whether you like it or not. I love my EHX Black Finger for guitar for the tone it provides - altering quite significantly the basic tone.

    When I had one, it seemed to make the sound duller, in slightly different ways depending on the setting. Now I am happy with my Carl Martin Opto-compressor, it slightly alters the tone but for the better. It is cheap as well.

    Sorry but I have no proper scales - it doesn't feel too heavy nor light, so I guess around 8 lbs would be about right. But I cannot be positive that it is definitely below that... Will try to be more precise on Monday if I can borrow scales

    Hi For sale a 2006 Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones 4 in pearl white/rosewood that I just got locally. Selling because it is surplus to requirements (I have a 44-60 already which I prefer). It is fully loaded with Aero pickups, an East DJ retro preamp, cavity shielding and two extra pickguards (white/white pearloid). Will ship with the original control plate so you can return it to its passive glory if you so wish. The bass itself is pretty much mint, but I am picky and the fingerboard feels to me rough where the block inlays are fitted. Also the pickguard doesn't tightly fit the control plate. The two previous owners thought these weren't an issue at all, so I concluded that it is my obssessive nature. The tone easily compares to my USA Laklands, which is a surprise! The DJ for me nails in passive the early Prince tone (think Let's Work). With the East pre the array of sounds is overwhelmming. I need to recover as usual from compulsive behaviour so will let this go for 600£, shipping to EU included in a standard Fender gig bag, but well protected. Trades will be considered (note trade value is higher), but would prefer a straight sale. Paypal accepted.     This was mine and playability is second to none! Really mint condition as well and it is fully loaded with mid boosts on each filter and the passive tone control which is a must imho. Btw, it sounds wonderful in passive mode if filters are not your thing. Glwts!
