  1. I miss on this one…. Again! 😕
  2. This was the bass I used in this recording. Florida Sky:
  3. @StuartB, I understand the concern, especially if that website does not show the result of your query. Like the comments above, there are internet sources, including Talkbass and the Fender support website that cover this — based on the serial number, it’s a 1985-1986 Japanese Fender. Here’s from Fender: https://support.fender.com/en-us/knowledgebase/article/KA-01874 Just to add, here’s a back story… I bought this same bass twice. Yes, I sold it and bought it back. I sold this to person A years ago… person A sold it to person B… and when person B had it for sale, I bought it back. I never doubted its authenticity and it definitely sounds great. I don’t mind keeping it, but I just can’t contain my GAS.
  4. Here’s the serial number on the headstock:
  5. Thank you for all the lovely comments. GAS makes us do silly things.
  6. SOLD I know I might regret this, but I’m selling my beautiful Fender Jazz Bass, 70’s reissue, MIJ, and it comes with a gigbag. It’s been setup well and the neck feels comfortable. It has maple neck and fingerboard, with white binding, 20 frets, and pearl block inlays. It has a 3-bolt neck. The body looks like swamp ash (I’m open for corrections), with a black 3-ply pickguard. The bridge has been upgraded to a Gotoh high mass bass bridge. The strap and the strap locks in the photos are not included (sorry). It weighs 4.25 Kg (9.3 lbs), and is based in Stevenage. Until my schedule is more favourable, it’s for collection only. I’m looking at £720 including the gigbag. Please do send me a message for any question. Thank you.
  7. I’m interested too, but it’s quite a distance from where I am.
  8. *** SOLD *** ✅ For sale: Hartke Bass Attack VXL (box and user manual included) ✅ Price: £50 if collected from Stevenage… or add £5 for postage to a UK address. Harke features its tube emulation on this preamp… Personally, I try to use it sparingly… around 10 o’clock for the harmonics, and 10 o’clock for the mix. Together with its DI feature, you’re all set to play. Feel free to search the web for more details about this amazing gear. If not because of my new gear(s), I won’t be selling this. Though I appreciate that everyone has their own taste when it comes to tone, this is a gear that I think I’ll GAS again in the future.
  9. Thank you. BTW, the 5Kg is from our bathroom scales, so, I’m questioning its accuracy.
  10. Is this still available? I’ll send you a PM.
  11. Just posting this here for reference... from Mica's post in 2007, 15th of January... http://alembic.com/club/messages/393/35325.html?1168958508 "The Persuaders were originally the same as Spoilers but with our Activator electronics. Traditionally, a Persuader was about $200-300 less than a Spoiler for that reason. The purpose was to showcase our Activators. There are Persuaders with PJ, JZ, and AXY pickups. There's some with only one pickup too. Controls were one or two volumes (depending on the number of pickups) and a single filter control. We discontinued the Persuader because of the obvious confusion with the Spoiler basses."
  12. Thanks, @Clarky. I think the controls (knobs/switches) between the persuader and the spoiler are different too.
  13. I am very much open to corrections. The serial number is etched on both the control cavity and on the truss rod plate. Based on the serial number 90P xxxx USA, it is a Persuader. http://alembic.com/support/reference.html
