Hi, I love playing flats and halfrounds and also the tone of active EMG's so I was thinking that this combo may work quite well for me .I wondered if anyone out there uses flats with EMG's and if they are pleased with the results?. I hoping for more pure EMG tone with reduced finger/fret noise. At the moment I'm using Status round wound strings, except a set of EB flats on my Sandburg

Nice one, from my experience Burns guitars are really well put together (Englist/Korean and now Chinese) and really true to their roots. I gig a 12 string lead regularly (see link) and also have a 6 string cobra. Well there's a local pub in Nailsea (just off the M5) where they don't mind us making a racket. They do the usual Sunday meals/bar stuff but have a nice long room at the back with good access from the car park. If there is reasonable interest I'll make some inquiries. If you bring your Sandburg that would be cool as I always wanted to see a KT.

When was that Video shot then? The original must have come out in the mid seventies?

I guess it has to be my LTD ESP Surveyor 405 because its my go to bass both for live work and recording. Thats despite having owned some very nice basses. Love the sound, I hit sounds I like simply by flicking between the pups, they are nice but not so expensive that I worry about them At one with my bass

Having read the post from the start it sounds like the type of discussion we have a lot. I'm all for trying to refine, improve things. If you get in that mind set its good fun. Where it gets out of hand is where you start getting personal and start people start telling people how to play. Thats not the case here. ooh and good luck at your gig.

Most of our stuff sounds fine without and it would be simple enough to trigger intros etc. A more simplistic approach will probably work fine live.

Ambleton may be easier what do you think is the best way tpo trigger them. The drummer with a pad maybe or some pedal. Hi, I'm rehearsing in an originals band and it is is going well, The main issue holding us back is that we haven't been able to find someone to play keys. On our recordings we use quite a few loops, both during tracks and to create a soundscape. We have been trying to carry that over into our live playing with our drummer playing to a click track. In theory its fine but In practice this isn't working too well because we're finding it a bit restrictive and it sounds horrible if it goes wrong. As a result we're looking for simple ways that we can trigger pre-recorded loops and sounds via our PC, has anyone got any suggestions of how to do this or even better is there anyone in the Bristol/Western area who fancies playing some keys?
