    SOLD

Great precision here, a real players bass, currently with flats. I had been searching for a nice precision for a while and when I got this one my search stopped! PICTURES TO FOLLOW, Link here: http://www.basscentre.com/british-bass-masters/bruce-thomas-profile.html This has been gigged by the previous owner so has the odd mark here and there but nothing nasty. It also has some discoloration of the pole pieces Weight estimated at 4.3kg, around 9lb 8oz. I love the look and feel of this. Great color, classy pick guard and a bridge cover fitted...nice Note: I have since settled into playing short scale 4's and long scale 5's so this isn't being used. No case of strap included. Can post at cost.
  2. Trades/offers? Maybe a headless passive 5 or a trade for an interesting 4 passive with money my way. This is a G&L custom MJ-5 lightweight, with painted headstock and "empress" wood body. It only weighs around 3.6kg, which is around 7lb 15oz. Superlight and well balanced for a 5. It has a great action and is a pleasure top play. Great colour that really looks great under lights. It's great sounding bass that suits any type of music and is much more user frindly than the L series. I have used it in a very loud heavy band and to record on an acoustic track. Note: The band is now gone and I'm playingh 4's, which is my reason for sale. It was pretty much as new when I got it and remains in similar condition. It comes with it's G&L cert. and case. It is packed full of usable tones and will suit any form of music. £1,100 Demo here:

  4. Love these, got one already. GLWTS
  5. I have great memories of this gig (see link) as one of the best gigs and performances that I saw back them. Very memorable and technically brilliant. Zappa shared the stage with the rest while overseeing the whole performance. It was the best! https://vintagerock.wordpress.com/2015/03/23/frank-zappa-newcastle-city-hall-13th-february-1979/
  6. An old post now but I just picked up a used USA fallout from here and it doesn't disappoint in any way. I was cautious as I couldn't find very much about them so I wouldn't have paid the full price for it (or any other bass to be honest). My ears tell me that it is a great guitar so if you have the disposable dosh check them out!
  7. That looks a killer and a great spec. I was about to pull the trigger but reckon the 35 inch scale would throw me as all of my other basses are 34". A very good price for a capable instrument. Good look with the sale!
  8. Well I have to say that your post has but me off buying one of these unseen. One thought about the above comment though. G&L pickups are hotter in general and you can't max out the tones and volume and expect to get the best from them. I have had an L1500, L2000/2500, and a Skyhawk and ASAT Special 6 stringer and all of them play better with the volume dialed back a touch. That approach opens up a really rich world of beautiful tones from what I believe are fantastic instruments. Enjoy your new bass.
  9. Hi, any7 suggestions to avoid me going down the usual Amazon route? I normally use Thomastik or Elixur
  10. Brilliant bass, I want it but don't need it! Very cheap for that kind of sound quality but expensive for a toilet seat GLWTS
  11. Updated 1st post to include trades and in that this is probably a limited edition rather than Elite Custom. To all intensive purposes they are the same guitar (thanks Jay). Ed
  12. Hi, apologies for the late reply. I prefer not to export far the way things are at the moment. I had a possible buyer the USA but am not comfortable to ship far ATM Thanks.
  13. Thanks, A buddy gave me some "stuff", like round granules to try. Thinks it should do it, although I prefer to source a Burns replacement if I can
  14. Hi, not sure of the exact weight but it is somewhere in the middle? It isn't lightweight. I would guess at over 10lb but less than 10.5.
  15. Sigma BMC-15E 4-String Acoustic Bass w/ Pickup - All Mahogany Body This Sigma BMC-15E 4-string acoustic bass guitar with no significant scratches or dents at all. String with Thomastic flats and sounds amazing IMHO. I have had this bass for a few years and it is a favorite but I rarely use it and want to buy something else. It comes with a soft case. The last time was to record the "sliding bass line" in Blue and Hazy (see below) "The bass itself is an incredible instrument. The all mahogany construction is very durable, offers up a very deep and rich tone, and looks great! The bass was built before CITES imposed the regulations on rosewood, so this model has a rosewood fingerboard and bridge as well. The bass is also outfit with Grover die-cast machine heads as well as a bone nut & saddle. Overall the quality of craftsmanship, the simplicity of design, and the excellent hardware and materials make this one of the best value for money acoustic basses out there." Here are some general specs on this model: Top: Solid Mahogany Back & Sides: Mahogany Neck: Mahogany Nut: Bone Saddle: Bone/Compensated Fingerboard: Indian Rosewood Scale Length: 34" Width at Nut: 40.1mm Tuning Machines: Chrome, Grover Diecast Finish: Natural Electronics: Fishman Isys + (Chromatic Tuner Included)
  16. Trades? well I play 5's but would like a passive 4 to put flats on, a "string through" Fender Mustang or similar short scale or a 90's USA P bass with money either way. This is a Burns "limited edition" John Rostill Shadows Bass, 1964 reissue from the late 2000's. It has a white polyester finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Full 33.5 inch scale. It has been well gigged so read the condition report, but is still keenly priced. It plays well and sounds great and gets positive comments when used. A Fantastic instrument for a retro or modern band. It is currently strung with flats. It is a very usable instrument The Shadows bass (and Burns guitars) are collectable and are not currently being made so this is a rare chance to get one of these at this price. Condition report: This bass is well used and has numerous small marks from normal use and a lacquer crack near the neck joint (pictured). There is one tuner key missing. The mechanism can still be tuned by using one of the other "push on" tuning keys although I am sure that the new owner will want to replace it. Note: As Burns are not trading at the moment I have been unable to get a replacement key but I see that they plan to begin trading again soon.. It comes with original Burns imitation alligator/wooden construction hard shell case, which is tatty, well used but still in one piece. Specifications: Original Burns Vintage Style 9Reversed Gear) Machine Heads Nut Width 43mm Scale Length 331/2 inches Neck made from Canadian Hard Rock Maple Fingerboard is Indian Rosewood Burns Gear-o-Matik Truss Rod Gearbox Body is American Alder Featuring Burns® unique Rez-o-Tube™ Aluminium Floating bass bridge unit engraved with : BURNS REGD.DES. Chrome palm rest 3x Original Nu-Sonic type pickups Master volume 5 way pickup selectorTone control for neck and middle pickup Separate tone cut for bridge pickup Push/Pull tone pot for 2 extra pickup combos
  17. A heads up that I'm still looking for one of these...😎
  18. Heads up...still looking, although I have a plan to cunning fashion a replacement if I get stuck Bass sounds the biz BTW Ed
  19. A big thanks for all the feedback, I take note of all the comments, "I'll keep on keeping on". Started home recording my new stuff yesterday and will try and get back to the studio before Christmas! 😎
