1. Wire it in parallel - you'll get a lot more top end, and more bottom too, at the cost of some output & mids. G.
2. I have a small hand & like slim necks. Currently my #1 bass is my Peavey Cirrus BXP V with the 35" scale. I think string spacing on this is about 16mm. My #2 bass is a Hohner B Bass V, 34" scale with souped up electrics. This is even slimmer than the Cirrus. I also have an OLP Stingray V which, although having very narrow spacing, like the B Bass, the neck is deeper back to front. I really like the tone I get off the OLP, but because of the depth of the neck, I'll be putting it up for sale on the Forum when I get back from Scotland next week. It's the one I had at the Moffat Bass Bash. If anyone wants first dibs on it, PM me. I played Neepheed's G&L 4 at Moffat & it has as slim a neck as I've ever played, but I don't know how that'd translate to a 5er. Geoff
3. If we're down in Ilfracombe at that time, I'll toddle over. G.
4. Where are you based, Rob? G.
5. No pics, no bass!! I saw a fretted go on Ebay about 2 months ago for £350. G.

7. Yup, I'd be interested...... G.
8. Drink earlier!!!! G.
9. A John East U-Retro will fit your bass perfectly. You might want to try it with whatever pre you install before messing with the pups. G.
10. I've had 4 bits of gear from the local Crap Converter - first was a 1979 Ibanez Studio ST-105 with hard case for £180 - both guitar & case in excellent condition - still my No1 guitar. Second is my 1986 Westone Thunder IIIb Fretless 4 for £140 - again with hard case & both excellent - really nice player, my No.2 bass. Picked up an OLP MM 5er recently for £150 & a perfectly unmarked 150W Line 6 Spider II 2x12 for £160. I also got an Award-Session 4x10 100W bass amp for £80 which I turned over pretty quickly. It turned out it had a blown cone, but CC replaced it, no quibble, within 2 days. Anything decent in there going cheap in the last 4 years, I've had. G.
11.
That's a shame dude. Who will I corner and force to try out my 5er this time?
................probably me........................ G.
12.
Hey it'll be great to meet up in person Geoff. I can reintroduce you to your old J body which is now a little different to the last time you saw it too.
Hiya Rich, yes, it did occur to me!! G.
13. I'm on the Nanpantan (North) side. PM me when you feel like a natter. G.
14. I don't know about Nottingham, but 20 mins down the road in Leicester, there's Sheehan's. Pretty much know what they're doing in there. http://www.sheehans.com/ G.
15. You could try a 5751 in V1, but you'd lose a little volume.... G.
16. I've an Ampeg Portabass 1x12 cab (the one with trolley wheels 17"x17"x12") with a Beyma B200 12" 250W@8 Ohm in it. The horn's been removed & a tube put in as a port. It's pretty much around the size you're looking for. Could be talked into parting with it............along with the Crate Powerblock I use with it.......... G.
17. I'd really like to get to this, but I'm supposed to be visiting my kids in Glasgow Sat & Sun!!!!! Monday I'm supposed to be going to my mate's at the Horse & Hound Bonchester Bridge, so I wouldn't be far away if I could come down a day early. Could I pay at the door? OK, just re-arranged some visits & it looks like I'll be attending on the Sunday. I'll be carrying my OLP MM (for sale) and my Westone Thunder III Fretless plus the UK-built MAG400 head and a compact (*not* Barefaced) 15" speaker. I'll also have my MiniRigO'Doom - Crate Powerblock & Ampeg 1x12 Portabass with Beyma B200 driver (250W @ 8 Ohm) - also for sale. Geoff
18. The last time this happened to me I nipped the heads off the screws, removed the pups & clamped a small mole grip on the shafts of the screws - as said above, took a long time, but came out. G.
19. I use it for everything. Has stereo out, stereo line in, line out, headphone out, EQ, gain, master, compression, chorus, tremelo, phase, noise gate, reverb & delay. Enough amp models for fun & a few cab sims. I use mine into the FX return of my Crate Powerblock & Ampeg Portabass 1x12. G.
20. 2nd not pss - I'll try & get to the 29th. G.
21. I was going to suggest that you use the graphic equaliser in Media Player to cut your treble & boost low-mids, but on this laptop I'm Windows 7 & Media Player 12 & I can't find the equaliser - it doesn't seem to be in 12, but I certainly use it in Win XP. I boost the low mids & flatten the top end somewhat & it makes the bass come through better. I only have an old pair of small Labtec speakers but they're ok. G.
22. I take it you're listening through headphones? G.
23. Where are your Nottingham gigs, Gaf? And I *might* be in Devon in September. Geoff
