1. KRK Rokits 5 are a great set of active speakers. Very popular I have the Mackie MR5's, which are essentially their version of the KRK's. Personally wouldn't go on separate amp and speakers since you are using this for recording purposes and it'll save a bit of room under your desk
 2. My American Jazz. My swiss army knife, go to bass for any job.
 3.
The PSA-230es is rated at 200ma, if the Mooer is 128ma (I haven't checked), with your other pedals, you're probably approaching 150ma in total?! This, in my experience, is where noise and weirdness starts to get introduced as you run out of power to draw from. Think of MA headroom as wattage........you wouldn't run your 200watt amp at 200watts, it's going to start crapping out My rule of thumb is to have half of my supplies rating spare, considering I use a 5amp Gig-rig on one board and a 1amp T-rex on another, I genuinely keep things quiet Si
Yeh Si, just checked and the Mooer draws that amount of power. Hmmm may need to go for the GigRig then. But before I splash out on that, will try with a separate power supply.
 4.
I reckon you have clock noise from the Mooer breaking through to the 9V line. You could try wrapping the Mooer's 9v supply cable around a ferrite ring - you can get clip-on ones from Maplin. Either that or different socks
Okay I'll get one and see if that helps, thanks Haha, that didn't work either!
 5.
the boss tuner has a buffer in it so i would think that wont be necessary, in fact seeing as you have three boss pedals i wouldnt be worried about a buffer. are you supplying the mooer from the supply out of the tu-2? or on the same daisy chain as the rest?
I tried it there again Andy and I was having the same issue. In fact, after unplugging and re-plugging the pedals back in the same order in the picture, the wurly sound stopped! still a concern though.
interesting - i'd not have thought it would have made a difference. nice to be surprised - it shows you've still things to learn
I spoke too soon man, it didn't
 6.
also you could try supplying the mooer of the tuner its an isolated supply i think so might help. andy
Yeh putting the mooer just after the tuner has helped Andy thanks But to improve the the signal to noise ratio, would a buffer be worth it? And the gig rig?
 7.
try connecting the mooer to the daisy chain, but not wiring into the signal chain - is it still wurly ?
Yeh its still sending a Wurly sound
 8.
sounds like the mooer doesn't like the supply it's being fed. it's quite a current-hungry pedal at 128mA - which boss psu are you using ?
Using the Boss PSA-230es. Was thinking about The GigRig Generator, but never got round to buying it. Would that on it's on help solve the problem?
 9. Board laid out below: Tuner EQ Chorus Mooer Echo Clone of Ezekiel 25:17 When the Mooer echo is on the board, there is almost a whurlitzer sound (due to the echo sound itself probably) even when it isn't turned on. Would a buffer solve this, as well as any other tone problems? I've been looking at this: http://www.reallyawesomepedalboards.co.uk/shop/custom-pedalboard-interface/ as a possible solution. I am using a Boss power adapter so would that have any influence on this?
 10.
Get a proper flight case. Secure it, but don't lock it - if airport security decide they need to get into your case they will do it in the easiest and fastest way possible. Don't detune the strings. The strings and the truss rod balance each other out. If you detune the strings you also need to slacken off the truss rod (and then get the bass set up all over again when you reach your destination).
Okay great thanks Can get my hands on a proper flight case thankfully. What about powering pedals in the US? Do I need one of those voltage regulators or would a single converter be okay?
 11. Heading to SXSW this year and unfortunately i have to put my precision in the hold. The entire journey: Belfast to NY | NY to Houston | Houston to Austin So many prayers will be said to make sure it arrives safely. I am probably gonna use my fender fight case, or I may be able to borrow a proper flight case from a friend. Whats the best way to store the bass? Should I de-tune all my strings? Put alot of socks around the bridge?
 12. Hello fellow bassists, After 9 months of writing and recording material, myself and two previous members of Kerrang Award Winning 'In Case of Fire' launched our new band FLAWS today. Currently, we do not have any material online, but it is coming very very soon. If you like Biffy Clyro, Mew, Minus The Bear or even the aforementioned, we hope you'll enjoy the new material.
 13.
Mechanical switching like that does have a little pop as the switch is switching between the circuit and the output jack, whereas Boss and similar pedals have the buffer bypass and are silent, basically because the signal is always going through the circuit. Bypasses vary, cheap ones can be poppy and/or can wear out rather quickly. Contact cleaner may help, but more than likely it is just the sound of that switch, unless it has gotten worse? Even the highest quality of pedals can have switches that fail. I had a both a Darkglass B3K and 3Leaf Wonderlove that both needed their switches replacing, although i think that was due to the builder having a few teething issues with their soft touch relay bypass. Bloody lovely switch though
Don't think it has gotten worse, the Mooer is only a month or so old, and the Ezekiel, although custom, is about 3 months old. May look into the LS-2 though, may have to squeeze it on somehow
 14. Thanks guys for your help. Putting the Boss Chorus pedal at the end didn't make any difference, so it'll just be something I and the sound guy will have to deal with from now on
 15.
It might be a result of the last pedals in the chain being true bypass (assuming the Ezekiel is I've never encountered one but boutique stuff is usually true bypass and the Mooers are) so there isn't a buffer to stop you hearing the click as you engage the pedal. True bypass isn't the answer to everything. If the Chorus is a Boss one (which will have a buffer) try putting it last and see if that solves it. There are other variables but it might. I used to have a Boss DD-6 last and never had the issue at all. I now have a Boss LS-2 lying around for this eventuality. If I set up with a true bypass pedal last I will stick them in a loop through the LS-2 (which should remove the click because you are engaging the Boss switch and the other one is already on) or just put the LS-2 in line after the pedals. As always with such advice I provide the usual YMMV disclaimer...
Thanks Chris, yeh I'll give that a go tomorrow after rehearsals and let you know how it pans out
 16. Hi guys, After getting my pedalboard sorted, I started to notice that when I press my Mooer 'Eecho' or my custom Ezekiel 25:17 distortion pedal, which are PUSH button style; they make a click sound through the amp. Whereas my Boss tuner, chorus and equalizer do not have this issue. The chain is Tune - Equalizer - Chorus - Eecho - Exekiel. I am currently using the official Boss power supply and daisy-chaining it over the 5 pedals. Could this be causing the issue? Cables are all fairly new, patches and main jacks. Thanks for the help guys.
 17. Finally got round to buying a Pedaltrain Mini after much hesitation whether to purchase it or the Nano. From Right-to Left (following the signal path) 1. TU2-Tuner 2. GEB-7 Equalizer - Considering switching this to a Sansamp Tech 21. 3. CEB - 3 - Great for subtle and over the top chorus songs from the 80's 4. Mooer Reecho Pedal - Used only when I use my double bass bow. Great to add a little texture. 5. [Clone] Ezekiel 25:17 Bass Distortion - This thing is a beast. Check out samples of it on YouTube, POWER - Currently using the Boss PSA230ES. Probably not favoured by many here, but does the job and is small and neatly fits in the bag. CABLES - GYC Slimline cables for all pedals (Picture was taken before I bought two more for the Reecho and Ezekiel.
 18. Just a quick ask guys if anyone has done the same as me. Finally got my pedaltrain mini which is a beauty and I'll do a review on if anyone is very indecisive like myself. I can't afford yet to buy the GigRig distributor and power supply yet, so I thought I could take advantage of my boss supply, since its only 2 months old. I have a daisy chain to run from the tu-2 to the ezekiel 25:17 and I have done this before, without any problems, but just thinking as a long term thing, would the boss supply be okay? It would be 5 pedals in total. Thanks guys.
 19.
I must build one of those Ezekiel's too. Sorry for not having posted recently, but have been busy making pedals :-) Since my last post I've managed to complete 2 RAT's, Colorsound Bass Fuzz, Big Muff (never got round to putting the clean blend in it), Dyna Comp, Keeley 4 Knob Comp, Zen Drive, Red Llama, Sparkle Drive, Tubescreamer, A couple of utility boxes and today I finished a Greedtone OD. I'm addicted!
Its fantastic man. To be honest, never liked bass distortion until I heard this pedal
 20.
I've had a pedaltrain for years, always changing it about and never had to replace the velcro! I think it'll last a lot longer than you think. And sooner or later you'll want a pedal that isn't a Boss pedal, so I'd make the switch now!
Very true! thanks
Heavy Duty Velcro (the Velcro stuff, not hoop & loop tape from £savers) will hold your pedals solid. The adhesive on the tape is solid too. Have a look at these chaps for boards (a member here)... https://www.facebook...somePedalboards
Those look fantastic!
 21. For the past 7 years I have used a Boss BCB-30 and only recently, had one of the famous black locking tabs broken off. However, more varied session gigs have called for me pedals and a bigger board. I really like the look of the pedal train stuff, specially the Pedaltrain Mini and have been recommended by various people. But, I can see myself going back to my Boss board every now and again, due to spacing available on stage. If I went with the PT Mini, it means applying velcro to the pedals, then occasionally taking them off the board and putting them into the BCB-30. If I am constantly taking the pedals off and on, surely the velcro will slowly come off the board and I will have the hassle of re-applying it every few months? Or am I doubting the power that is velcro? Should I just take the hit and go for the bigger Boss BCB-60? I really don't want to, but it means, no velcro and easy switch to the smaller board. Thoughts/opinions?
 22. Boss GEB-7 Equalizer. No matter what amps I may have to share at gigs, I can always go to this and adjust to get my tone. 8 years going strong
 23. Always wanted a full toned bass distortion pedal that didn't lose any bottom end. A good friend of my who builds pedals occasionally recommended the Ezekiel 25:17 for a clone option Used it a last week at probably one of the biggest shows I have done and it sounded awesome in every sense. Loads of low end a pretty cool Blend on the right hand side as a foot control to take the distortion in or out.
 24. Varies, but I like to keep POST. What I want out front, is what my bass sounds like on stage. Most engineers don't seem to have a problem with it, or in fact even bother asking me which setting it is on. If it's gigs where I have to do the sound, it will also be Post, but roll off the bass on the mixing desk EQ, as it can get a bit rumbly!
 25. Related thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/198947-going-on-my-first-tour-suggestionstipshelp/page__p__1967423#entry1967423 Just to give everyone an update on how the tour went and also to thank everyone for your advice! Some of which I should of took on board more than others! Overall, it was very much a success, with all of the shows going well, good merch sales and no car breakdowns or fall outs . McDonalds and take-aways were kept to a minimum and alcohol consumption wasn't overly done. The one major issues I had were that I am quite a light sleeper and with three guys who snored, it was hard getting a good nights sleep. The ear plugs did help, but they are uncomfortable when sleeping on your side, and the white noise thing didn't really work. I did eventually get used to it, but some nights were particularly hard. Packing long johns and thick socks were a blessing and packed just enough to get me through 8 days. Staying with girls is so much better than staying with guys. Cups of tea and bacon sandwiches are always provided for One recommendations from the original thread, which I should have used was to make time for myself. Near the end I was just getting frustrated with everyone, for no reason. When I was coming back to Belfast by myself, that time alone was kinda what I needed and wished I used it on tour. Again thanks to everyone for their advice. The experience didn't put me off the idea of tour, even though we stayed on people's floors and the lack of sleep, it added to the adventure that it was Can't wait to do it all over again
