  1. There was one posted on here a while ago, some Japanese site where you could basically customise a P-Bass to your liking, but you could only do it for a P-Bass.
  2. Looks like a melted Yamaha TRB 6 string

    Cello

Been a cello player for more than half of my life, thanks to playing cello and bass guitar I was able to pick up double bass super quick. But out of the three cello is definitely the hardest to play well, at least I think. Not sure how easy it would be to pick up late since i've been playing it since I was 9. Double bass would probably be easier to pick up, seeing as the strings are also in fourths, going from 5ths to 4ths was probably one of the hardest things to get my head around when going from cello to bass. And i'd imagine bowing would be hard to get to grips with. I'd strongly reccomend getting lessons if you go for cello. Although either would be a great new instrument to learn
  4. Another one to consider is the non-export CIJ Jazzes, I've got a defretted sunburst one and it definitely looks and sounds the part!
  5. Up for grabs are 4 Tuners and a Bridge. The parts are from a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz bass (Nothing wrong with them at all, I just swapped them out for black hardware for looks). The Tuners are your standard Jazz/Precision tuners and come with all the parts (screws etc) needed to go straight into another bass. The bridge is a standard fender style BBOT Bridge (Unfortunately I cant find the 5 screws) All the parts are in great condition and havent seen much use/wear. I'll take £15 (inc. P&P) for the lot Cheers, Jack
  6. Hey there, Up for grabs I have some reflex jazz bass pickups and some jazz bass pots etc. Not sure how old the pickups are but i know the company made them around the 80s/90s. They are based on EMGs more or less. Were in my VM Jazz but I have recently put some Seymour Duncans in it. The pots also come from the VM Jazz, has Both volumes, tone and input socket (all connected together) Would be great for any jazz bass project anyone may have going. 30 for the lot (Inc P&P) Cheers (Will add pictures later today)
  7. Maybe try both basses and see which you prefer. But based on my experiences, i've had a highway one jazz and own a jap 62 reissue jazz and the 62ri was miles better in my opinion (always can be a bit hit and miss with fender though).
  8. I think it definitely depends, voted boring because i've turned down perfectly fine basses because they are black, doesnt do it for me, but certain basses for certain situations look great in black.
  9. One thing to try if you are stuck between choosing rounds and flats for fretless are ground/pressurewounds. I have them on my fretless and they sound nice and bright but dont wear the fretboard as much as rounds do!
  10. Definitely try a fretless or two before committing any real money. I have a fretless Fender CIJ Jazz and I absolutely love it! They go for around £450 or less on here Edit: Also, heard nothing but good things about the Squier VMJ Fretless
  11. My CIJ Fretless Fender Jazz 62' RI 18th Birthday present I vow never to sell!
  12. D'addario Nickel plated steels on fretted and Rotosound Pressurewounds on fretless
  13. Thanks for the advice, I'm not really sure what the issue is, but im talking Volume and Gain both on full on a 180w amp, and the volume is about what I would get with a standard fender jazz with the volume at about 40%. And if they were made to emulate EMG's, thats not really the sound im going for. But if the pickups are active and require batteries as someone mentioned, this is a passive bass and whoever put these pickups in did not rout a battery cavity, which could be why they are so quiet. Cheers
  14. Its a Squier VM Jazz and the previous owner has put some "Reflex" pickups in it (never heard of them) and they are really quiet, so i'll be changing the pickups no matter what.
  15. Hey there, Up for sale is my DOD FX-25B envelope filter. It deserves more than to be sat gathering dust as it does now. Its quite old, as they were discontinued a while back, therefore making them a bit rare these days. Controls are pretty simple: Blend, Sensitivity and Range (L-R) (Will upload some pictures soon) Looking for £25 Cheers, Jack
  16. Thanks for the advice, seeing as all the reccomendations are out of my range, it seems as though i'm just going to have to save up for a more expensive pair. Cheers
  17. Hey thanks for the replies, yeah Ideally i'd get a set of fralins, but like I said, i've only got around 90 quid to spend on them
  18. Thanks, I've heard good things about them, and they are really decently priced. I just dont have any experience with things like this
  19. Just thought i'd add that its for a passive bass
  20. Hey there, I'm looking to throw some new pickups in a Jazz bass, its my first time upgrading things like pickups and I really am not sure what to go with. I mostly play jazz, but I like a nice bit of slap every now and then (MMish) and love the good old Jaco growl type bridge PU sound. So does anyone have any reccomendations? (Been looking at Dimarzio Ultra Jazzes and Wizard 64s) Also, Must cost less than £100 for the pair!
  21. Thanks for the interest. The bass is now sold
  22. I prefer the tort plate too, but I do have a white one lying around somewhere if anyone would prefer that
  23. Yes it is standard. And for a couple more photos of the bass, look no further than TheGreek's pics, for they are of the very same bass
  24. Price drop! £400
