  1. Shame about the distance, I have a Stirling SB14 that I could trade.
  2. 4.5kg on the bathroom and luggage scales which is putting a few people off but it feels really nicely balanced to me and I regularly switch between it and a Mustang short scale and the difference isn't horrendous.
  3. Just looked but nothing in there from today.
  4. Sterling by Musicman SB14 3 band EQ, 3 way selector switch, hum cancelling phantom coil, nice slim satin finished neck, basswood body. 4.5kg on the bathroom and luggage scales. This was an itch that I had to scratch but I've seen something on here that I fancy and I don't like to have more than 2 basses at any one time. Collection from Whitley Bay or I could possibly meet up within a reasonable distance. Could possibly post if you wanted to arrange your own courier/insurance.
  5. I've done both but kept my backline gear and was eventually bullied into using backline again by the rest of the band who use in ears but still use backline and an acoustic kit. I have to say that using in ears and a preamp pedal instead of backline was a revelation, not just for the amazing sound quality of the bass but also it helped my singing, protected my ears and stopped me playing my bass really hard just to be able to hear it. I would say that it's a bit isolating using in ears and no backline and I think my ideal scenario would be to use backline but just played at sensible volume with the PA doing all of the work out front. Sadly that the rarely happens in a rock covers bands with 2 guitarists! 😭
  6. Hi everyone, I have an Ashdown 1x15 neo cab that I'm using with an Ashdown ABM 500 head. It has a buzz at a certain frequency when played at gig volume. I'm guessing it's not the speaker as I can stop the buzzing by pressing on the grille with my foot. I've checked all of the screws holding the grille in place and they are all nice and tight. Other than removing the grille, I'm not sure what next step might be. Has anyone had this issue before and how did they manage to fix it? Cheers
  7. Ashdown ABM 500 watt EVO 111 bass head. The usual ashdown bells and whistles, i.e. valve preamp/drive, solid-state power amp, compressor, octaver, flat/shape button, footswitch out, effects send return, tuner out etc. I bought this fairly recently but I was originally looking for a 2x10 combo and now that I've used it at half a dozen gigs, I'm thinking that I'd prefer a 2x10 combo after all. Collection from Whitley Bay or a possible meet up within a reasonable distance.
  8. Sorry to hijack this post but the ABM head and your 1x15 cab sounded great. Good advert for ashdown though and I imagine this combo will sound every bit as good.
  9. I've just bought an ABM 500 head and 1x15 cab but would have preferred this. Bad timing. 😭
  10. I would have loved this if I'd not recently bought the America performer version. Mine is lovely but I do struggle resting my thumb on the smaller Precision pickup and prefer the full size pickup on this version.
  11. I don't have any packaging big enough but could arrange a meet up at Dalton Park if that's any good?
  12. TC Electronics BG250 Combo. 1x15 version. Good condition with all buttons and controls present and working. Lightweight and loud. Only selling this as I fancy a 2x10 combo. £150 collected from Whitley Bay.

  14. This is the best colour on this particular range in my opinion. GLWTS and sorry to hear about your health issues.
  15. This is lovely and a great price. Sadly 6 strings are 1 too many for me. GLWTS.

  17. These are great basses. I had the same model in a different colour, sold it and wished that I hadn't. GLWTS
  18. Fender American Performer Mustang Bass in Satin Surf Green. I love this bass and it has a lovely playable satin neck that I'll really miss, but I bought with my heart rather than with my head and it doesn't really suit the classic rock cover band that I play in and it's not getting used as it should be. It has a small ding on the top edge as you look down at the bass. It really does look worse on the photo than in real life(damn those highly accurate mobile phone cameras on portrait mode)! The colours in the photos vary from what looks like daphne blue to surf green but it is definitely surf green as shown in the last photo. I bought this new from PMT Newcastle in June this year(2023). Includes padded Fender gig bag. Ideally I'd like to hand this over in person but I do have an old hard case and a carboard shipping box if you'd like to arrange your own courier. I may be interested in trades for an American Performer Precision bass or maybe a 5 string bass. Drop me a line if you have any other questions. Here are the official specs: Fender American Performer Mustang Bass Satin Surf Green Highlights. Scale Length: 30" Nut Width: 1.625" (41.3mm) Neck Wood: Maple Neck Pickup Configuration: 1 x split coil 1 x single coil Number Of Strings: 4 string Body Material: alder body Body Size: full size Right / Left-Handed: right handed Fingerboard: rosewood fingerboard Guitar Style: mustang style Brand-new professional-grade Mustang Bass from Fender. Lightweight Alder body with a Satin Surf Green Finish. Short-scale Maple Neck construction, with a Modern "C"-shaped profile. Mustang Split Coil pickup in the mid-position, and a growling J-style Single Coil pickup at the bridge. Greasebucket tone circuitry allows you to shape your high-frequencies without adding extra low-end.
  19. Just sold Paul my Trace Elliot Transit B preamp pedal. Really easy transaction, Paul knew what he was after, made a super quick payment and the deal was done! Deal with Paul in total confidence. Thanks Paul.
