1. I had an electro-acoutic Crafter 5 String and sold it because it was impossible to intonate the B correctly as the bridge was wooden and had no adjustment. I got fed up with band members saying I was out of tune. Sounded nice but it depended on the amp it was played through, the Roland Cube was best.
2. Why not ask him to take the neck off and either ship it both pieces together or even seperately? It reduces the size and value....
3. Think Tribute production now is in Indonesia and they are going up in price.....
4. Hi Pete Good to see you as a BassChatter: I spoke with you around 18 months ago re my trio Idle Hands: do you still do functions in that duo? We're quite busy with Weddings and functions: if you are ever passing one of our gigs, pop in and say hello! www.myspace.com/idlehandstrio Cheers Keith PS I remember you were the first person I saw with a 6 string bass, 15? years ago!
5.
Alright guys - I am reading the latest Bass Guitar Magazine, and have come across the Bass Cellar advertisement. Jesus H Christ - I have never seen such bad spelling, on such a small ad. Here are the mistakes, with smaller errors italicised. Bass Cellar - London's Leading Bass Guitar Speacialist Nothing sounds like a hollow body. Vist us to find Hofner Violins..... Mark bass amps are the leaders in light weight amps which is why we make sure we keep thier full range in stock. Asdown cover every ones needs. From thier electric blue.... GK - Vist us to see thier range of versatile amps. Warwick - Handcrafted in Germany using exotic tone woods, these supperb basses start at just £599. Pretty piss-poor, no?
Yes, I saw that when the magazine first came out and had a bit of a chuckle....
6. I had a red one which is now with another B'chatter: it's a really nice bass to play, well balanced and some good tones for a passive. Don't buy new, the guy selling one on here was selling the more expensive one with a longer top horn for around £600 I recall, don't know if he ever got rid of it? The body is detachable and the knobs are concealed.....
7. The bass is in Kettering but the pickup is in Wolverhampton......sorry , I'll get me coat!
8. ....this was discussed when it was last up on ebay, it ain't a JD seems to be the consensus....
9. The 'Squire' 5 String precision has to, because the 4 string Precision pickups cover 2 strings each, so with 5 you would need 1 larger than the rest if you kept the same configuration....
10. weird as he has other basses and guitars for sale, the Precision is priced more realistically although it's a "bitsa"
11. It can't be as "it is one of the top models in the £350 price bracket"... To be fair his local music shop may have charged him top whack on it but in this age of the internet it takes no time to do a price comparison.
12. It it me or is this vastly overpriced? Yes, I know it comes with a genuine case.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-SQUIRE-5-STRI...t=1218802104993 PS I've spelt it the same as the vendor.
13.
Hehe, not sure if yours is the same Delberthot, the one ive got is a "Citronic"....that kinda sums it up right there. There's no captive nut,its a threaded alluminium strip behind the steel frame.I think the strip is very soft alli, for how much you pay better quality stuff should have been used.I can get another strip from maplins to double it up but you shouldnt have to really. They did strip very easily before the screws nipped up. You pays yer money.....you takes yer choice i guess.
Why not return it and get a replacement? They are sold with a 12 month warranty......
14. Was not aware the little markbass II head, (which is what this essentially is) had a limiter: if there is distortion something ain't right in the signal chain....
15. I am doing a Shuker 1-2-1 build- your- own course in September, that way you get it in a week and and all(nearly) your own work. Mind I'm not going for anything too exotic in wood or shapewise.
16. and a bump from me. mine is identical!
17.
Excellent! Can I play? Here's my Single-Cut Bolt on 5: It's back at Jon's at the moment, having a bit of a service. I'm missing it quite a lot! Cheers, Rich
I was at Jons on Thurday and saw it there: I'm doing a build your own with him in September, a 5 string Jazz style and was looking at woods...
18. I thought "The Wirral" was distinct from Liverpool and "scally" free.......?
19. It does have an XLR out which is a Jaydee trademark....but nothing else on it looks like JD's handiwork from my recollection of the Roadie I used to have.
20. I'm sure http://www.roqsolid.co.uk/page.html?id=7&a...t8io9gcav2v6es2 would make you something?
21. I'm a member of the Talkbass "Mark Bass" Club.......
22. Nice looking Bass, I have an identical 5 string L2500 so have a bump on moi.
23. Goods have to be fit for purpose, the fact it almost burst into flames is a safety issue: I would be talking to Proel who I have always found to be very helpful.
24. A lacksadaisical performance should be enlivened at the break by checking your 9 v batteries in your active bass with your tongue......
25. One or two of you may recall that at the recent Yorkshire Bassbash, we were kindly donated a Tanglewood Bass, Gig Bag, Hard Case and Tuner by Rhino, and an Extreme Jazz Bass by Strings and Things/Beat-It Music in Baildon. A number of Raffle Prizes were also donated too. The Raffle raised £40, thanks to all who bought tickets and it was decided by those attending that we either auction or raffle the Basses on the Basschat site. The Tanglewood Electro-acoustic Bass was auctioned and the winnner at £200 was Paul Cooke. The Extreme Jazz Bass and Hard case was raffled and won by BassBunny, tickets sold amounted to £245 A Stagg Practice Amp was then kindly donated by Solo 4652, won by Bremen, we raised £35 in ticket sales. Each winner was asked to nominate a music-related charity and the following funds have now gone to Musicians Union Benevolent Fund: £125 (Nominated by Bassbunny) Nordoff-Robins: £120 (Nominated by Bassbunny) Drake Music: £200 (Nominated by Paul Cooke) Jailguitars: £ 35 (Nominated by Bremen) Basschat: £ 40 (Nominated by Yorkshire Bassbash) I'd just like to thank everyone who participated in the Bassbash, Raffles and Auction and reassure you all the money has gone to these Charities with the exception of Jailguitars: I'm just waiting for Billy Bragg to get back to me!
