  2. There's a couple of reasons,imo....................the production cost..................and folks 'ill still pay the money.
  3. Loved their stuff up until Relayer, Squier was a huge influence..................and now I think, some things are of their time,...... and that time has gone. Oh well...............sighhhhhhhhh
  4. Always been drawn to the bass line in 'any' music. Initially inspired to play by the likes of Dennis Dunaway(alice cooper), Trevor Bolder(the spiders)and Jim Lea(slade). I like the sounds it makes more than the sckreechy sckreechy widdly widdly thing.
  5. Cliff's a top bloke to deal with, and the unichorus I've just bought is the dogs b.....ks.
  6. Hi Whistler, did you get sorted? Are you honouring gigs as I was looking foreward to seeing the band on the 3rd of May (if I've got the right Whistler) My cup of tea................pm me. Dave.
  7. Been toying with the idea of acquiring one for a while, because I've heard good reports ref. the fast neck.................not keen on buying a fender 'out of the box' because imo quality appears to be inconsistent unless you enter the custom shop price bracket; although having said that, I have never heard of a bad Geddy Lee bass.
  8. May well be interested in the badass for my MIJ 62 Precision. It's got Hipshot HB3 tuners fitted and a decent bridge seems to be a logical step as far as up-grading goes.
  9. Just heard that the house will be ready to move into from the 30th of March...........cheers for the info gents and hopefully we'll get settled quickly
  10. Cheers for the heads up gents,..............and @blademan 'I may well take you up on that offer' cheers!............anything in Bicester, MK, or around Oxford?
  11. Cheers for that Gents..........stayed at the White Hart a couple of weeks ago and went to see a band at the Kings Head.......can't recall their name, only caught the first set......it had been a long day.
  12. Cheers for that, I'll give it a go...................
  13. Hi, as the title says, I'm relocating to Aylesbury, and was hoping some of my fellow 'plankspankers' could give me a bit of a heads up on the local music scene. I'm currently in a rock covers band and I'm honoring gig commitments until March/April when I'll be moving to HP19. So, if I can get to know where and when buskers 'open mike' nights are, decent rehearsal rooms, best place to advertise my bass playing services etc, I can get settled quickly and get on with what I enjoy the most.................playing bass LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers
  14. as appears to be etiquette. I've been playing bass, off and on, for quite a while and this forum was suggested to me as a means of accessing the fountain of youth and knowledge held within................
