1. A nice looking bass ! What about the sound , something to compare with ?
 2.
BUT before everyone wants to stab me for spamming, please hear me out! Mythste enjoyed my video and said I should post here. He sent me! So about the contest: It's run by Sandberg Guitars. They're giving away a one-of-a-kind bass - the first prototype of the MarloweDK signature bass. It sounds astonishingly nice. I need it in my life. Ahaha. The criteria was/is as follows: 2-3 minutes of original music, played live. I submitted a shortened version of my song 'Hammerhead' from my upcoming EP! [Click here to go watch it!] I'm in 2nd place at the moment, which of course is marvelous, but I really want to win! :] If you like my video/song and you want to vote for me, all you need to do is click the thumbs up button on the YouTube page. I really really appreciate it. OH! One final thing. I had this planned before the contest.. but I figured it'd probably be a good idea to say this now. If I win the contest, I'm going to release my EP for free (digitally) when it's finished. I was going to release it afterwards as a surprise thankyou! But yeah, maybe it's a good idea to say now. As an incentive to vote for me or whatever. I hope you don't hate me for posting this. I just want to win so badly! And Mythste told me to post here. Thanks for your time, have a good'un. Whatever you're doing and whether you vote for me or not. :] -Nick
We DON'T hate you Nick , thumbs comi'n
 3. I want Sadowsky so much ! In Norway , you have to sell your house , car(s) , wife , kids and your pets to afford one
 4.

Is that your rig ?
 5. Eden have some good combos. Ashdown as well.
 6.
Because this is not Talkbass and we don't judge people for their choices. Have a nice day.
Well spoken mate !
 7.
My Custom Precision Has Landed! There are various features that I like about Precision basses spanning the 50s, 60s and 70s. What if it were possible to bring them together in one bass? I like the 50s vibe, but I like the comfort of contours. I like the 50s-type pickguard shape and also the 60s-type 3-ply guards. A 51-type single coil pick-up is fine, but the 57-type split pick-up is more versatile... and a 70s-type 'F' stamped neck plate would bring to mind my beloved USA Fender 76 Precision... So I approached our own Howard Satterley (The Bass Doc) with a very dodgy Photoshop mock-up of what I wanted... this was the brief: Body: Alder in vintage white. 57-type contours and radiussing, with routing for 51-type control plate. 62-type 3-ply pickguard in mint/black/mint, cut to 51-type shape. Neck: Allparts Fender-licensed one-piece maple neck with skunk stripe, truss rod adjustment at heel. 51-type headstock shape. Fender 'spaghetti' decal under clear coat. Vintage tint. 70s-type radius. Synthetic bone nut. Black dots. Hardware: Fender strap buttons. Side-mounted jack socket in cat's-eye plate. 57-type bridge with threaded barrels. 51-type control plate with chrome dome knobs. 70s-type 'F'-stamped neck plate on black cushion. Kluson reverse vintage tuners. La Bella Deep Talkin' 760FL strings. Electrics: Seymour Duncan Vintage SPB-1 split pickup. CTS solid shaft pots. Ceramic disc 0.05uF cap. Am I a happy bunny? I played the bass at rehearsal last night. Now I know what 'plays like butter' means. The set-up is perfect, the action low and there is no fret buzz whatsoever from any string at any fret position. It sounds great, very warm and present...a bit like a Precision Bass, in fact. So yes, I'm a very happy bunny indeed! My Precision Bass GAS is finally over! Many thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Howard for his skill, endless patience and excellent communications. And thanks for all the bubble wrap, mate! Edited for extra pics, as requested!
My God ! What a beauty mate !!!
 8.
I'd say so!
9.
They just seem 'too good to be true' for the price. I played thru a Marshall mb 4x10 (same speakers I presume) last year and was not impressed at all. But that's personal opinion I guess. For an extra 100 or so could get a second hand ashdown abm 8x10, lovely cabs
You're damned right ! Ashdown ABM is the way to go. Amazing cab. Fat low end with crisp high and "cut trough mix" middle !
 10.
Having spotted a few for sale recently i was curious to know if anyone had tried them. They don't seem to stay with their owners for very long. Any reason for sudden changes of heart and selling on quickly. I was thinking of buying one. Cheaper option than an Ampeg for example. Dave
I have two Ampeg 8x10 , so I don't need anything else. About Marshall 8x10 : Some years ago , a friend of my brother use to play one big Marshall basscab , but he sold it , complaining about a boomy sound with no details . Impossible to cut trough the mix. But my brother said this was a very cheap Marshallcab from a "lowpriced" series. They have far more expensive 8x10 cabs with a thunderous sound , if Marshall is the thing you want. Good luck mate
 11.
Thanks everyone for your help, don't really know of any big music stores around my area so probably won't be able to test so I'll end up buying and hoping! I'm sure all will be fine as it seems like everyone rates them fairly highly! We will see! Thanks again Jack
One more thing : I dont use the biamp option at all. I just plug in my Aguilar DB 112 and my Ashdown 115 , both in 8 ohm , and I'm been rewarded with sound from heaven. The the biamp system was ,in the first place, ment to be for GK's own RBH and NEO series of cabinets. But again: You dont need the biamp system at all. Just plug and play mate., but be aware of the impedance. Use two 8 ohm cabs or one 4 ohm cab., to take full advantage of the amp. This amp has a minimum impedance set at 4 ohm. Again: Good luck mate
 12.
I'm so confused! Why does the website say 480+50 watts :s
Remember ! You need a special wired speakoncable for the biamp options. If you want to take advantage of the biamped horn.
 13.
Hi all, Another amp thread! Sorry :s just so undecided!! http://www.soundsliv...ck~ID~17082.asp Any thoughts on the above? Loud enough? Better value for money on something else? Thanks!
I think it will be loud enough . I have the little bigger Gallien Krueger 1001 RB II. Amazing amp. Very versatile active EQ, lots of headroom and of course - nice sounding. It's also built like a tank. Good luck mate. It's a good choise if you pick that one.
 14. Well : THAT'S outdoor porn !!! ....ubernice collection mate
 15.
Been playing bass for about 4 years now and used most string makes. ie rotosound, ernie ball, elites, fender, stagg etc Out of all the makes iv tryed i really cant find much difference between them, iv i had to pick one make i guess it would be ernie ball. i do however prefer nickel strings to stainless, Anyway what do you use do you have a prefered make
Finally , and many years ago , I stop searching when I bought my first set of DR strings. Exellent strigs with exellent sound . Expensive but...I would also recommend Thomastik Infeld strings. Pherhaps even more expensive, but..It's all about the sound isn't ?
 16.
For my metal band I was thinking of getting a pedal or two in the future just for scaring the pants off of the guitarist. I really want the bass to sound huge and fairly evil. Was thinking a distortion may do this but most that I have listened too seem to cut a lot of low end. Any recommended listening? I've not really ventured into pedals as of yet (have two) and so am pretty clueless.
Suggestion ? Yes : Markbass Distorsore . I use this one for metalgigs with my full Ampegrig. An evil , demonic and fat sound. I love it. But i also do jazz and a very very slight turn with the tubeoverdrive knob gives a nice warm growl to the sound. Happy searching mate !
 17.
I've got a tc bh500 amp with built in compressor but it cuts far too much frequency even at a very low operation. Who does the best compressor where u can control all parameters pl guys? Ta J
I just use a single pedalcomp. It's a Electro Harmonix "Soul Preacher" with only two knobs and a 3 way switch. Maybe that will be to less options for you ? Anyway , it's sounds great with my fullstack Ampegrig or my Gallien Kruegerrig. Good luck mate !
 18. I want Bergantino so much , but I'm afraid there's no norwegian dealers at the moment. Bloody shame.... But again : Stunning cabs mate .
 19.
Day light? ... nope again. You'll just have to trust me it is cream. That's it really. The corners probably need trimming in order to make them match the thickness of the 12mm ply walls but it doesn't bother me the way it is so I think I'll just leave them like this for now. I'm not good at getting my thoughts of sound quality over but all I can say is that this guy sounds "real". A P bass sounds like a P bass, my 'ray sounds like a ray, one of my '51 P's that I had fallen out of love with is now punching like a bastard again, my G&L L-1000 simply sings old school through it. They all just sound like recordings. I somehow doubt that the original cab sounds this good. So where did I get lucky? The bracing? Maybe I just stumbled over the correctly voiced internal cubic litre-age for the drivers. I dunno... but I like. Thanks for watching.
Exellent work mate . EXELLENT !!!
 20.
Thought it was about time for an update. Due to working part time/currently playing guitar (!) and having lost too many basses to credit card panic my buying and selling gas juddered to a halt. Luckily I'm very happy with what I have! Mostly familiar faces I'm sure. The mij jazz, the cij jazz and my trusty bass master funk. Momark 800 and ae210's and B9. All obbm cables. If I hadn't had to sell my gramma pad it would be just perfect!
Those Bergantino cabs looks STUNNING !!!! How's sound ?
 21.
I've currently got a Warwick WCA 210 Pro which is doing me just fine at the moment, although I'm looking to make the (ridiculously large) leap to a 810. I'm sure many people would agree that going out and splashing a grand on an Ampeg would be lovely, but also financially crippling. So here begins the search for the perfect compromise. I've been looking at the budget models mostly and the Ashdown MAG 810 being the one that seems to have the best options about it. For around £330 it seem like a bit of a steal, but it's therefore got me thinking "what's wrong with it?". So I was wondering if anyone has had any experience or has any advice? I'd be selling off my Warwick and using that money as a basis and then saving on top of that, so as you can see money is tight. Advice? Thanks in advance!
Some years ago , I had a Ashdown MAG 1x15 . Completely useless. A harsh , wizzy , ugly , bad etc. tone came out of the speaker , so I switched to a Ashdown ABM 1x15 instead. Lovely fat tone. So what I'm trying to say is : At least sometimes , you've get what you pay for . Good Luck mate !
 22. http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad235/finn_022/Moregearpics005.jpg I almost forgot this litte setup. Gallien Krueger 1001 RBII head , with GK 210 & Ashdown 115
