1. I think the Italian customs hold up problem can delay packages for many weeks (I've read about situations where 8 weeks is not uncommon) which ultimately leads to dissatisfaction for the Italian buyer but no knowledge that the problem is homegrown. I assume that eventually many of these 'missing' packages do arrive at their intended destinations but it's such a minefield that many Ebayers choose to refuse to deal with Italy.
2.
I heard Italy can be especially dodgy but I've never found out why.
My understanding is there are two main problems with sending to Italy: One is their customs checks which can take weeks to complete and, obviously, the buyer doesn't realise it is being held at Italian customs and registers a non-delivery and probably negative feedback. The second problem is corruption (ie. probably a high level of theft) within the Italian postal system. I have noticed more and more Ebayers refusing to send to Italy.
3.
Also..am confused how 3 on a dial is perceived as less. My dials always start from about 7 0'clock so 3 is VERY loud. 9 0'clock would be a tickle.
There may be confusion here as some are describing the O'clock setting and some are describing a setting of 3 as 3 on a scale from 1-10 so their 'dial on 3' statement is actually around 9-10 O'clock.
4. Had a great deal with Lee for a lovely cable. A pro seller. Cheers

6. Ordered a speaker cable from Dave in a bit of a hurry - he got it to me the following day...! Excellent service and communication and a fantastic cable. Cheers

11. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140426888303?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 My mistake - they are Alpha pots not CTS. Still an excellent deal I reckon.
12. Are you any good with a soldering iron...? You can get a re-wiring kit for a Precision-style bass which replaces all the wiring and includes a pair of CTS pots (volume and tone) and a nice orange-drop capacitor - for around £15. Then put a new set of strings on - try some Nickel strings if you want to keep the cost down - should be around £10-15. I would do this first - it may be all you need. Good luck
13. Or try a little mixer - they can be had cheap nowadays and it opens up all sorts of other avenues like recording with low impedance mics etc.
14. Hotrox are my favourite - I had a bad experience with Watford and if you search you will find others who also have: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=watford+valves+problem&sourceid=ie7&rls=com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&ie=&oe=&redir_esc=&ei=0uBoT7-MD9OX8gPGr82aCQ
15. ...and the 4ohm cab gives you no room for additional cabs if your amps minimum impedance load is 4ohms.
16. I can also vouch for the Roqsolid covers but their Ebay ads can become a bit much if you don't search accurately. I tend to knock out all the 'buy it now' sales right at the start so I never see them.
17. I would always suggest two cabs for flexibility - one cab for rehearsing and small gigs, two cabs for bigger venues. It's best not to mix speaker sizes IMO - go with two 2X10 or two 2X12 cabs as BFM has stated. Secondhand is a great way to buy and get maximum value for money.

19. I think I'd prefer to buy the three packs singly for a total of £60...or am I missing something...?
