1. For sale my Fender 1976 Jazz bass which I bought off Wombatboter in Jan. Love this bass but due to a recent purchase of a jazz bass I'm really not sure this will get the use it deserves and I really only need one Jazz bass in my collection. The bass has a refin by Marty Bell In 1999 one of the best refinishers, he uses thinner lacquers, the sound could be better than with the original thick lacquer. The neck also needed adjusting and was taken to a Belgian luthier and he gave the bass a good set-up, gave it a refret. Pickups are Seymour Duncan SJB1 from 90's, electronics is original and the bass has a Badass bridge. Ash body, maple neck, pearl blocks, white binding. Nice Weight - 3,8 kg - 8,4 lb. Not original case but will be well packaged in a padded gig bag. Low action, This bass delivers the classic Jazz ingredients, has a nice Miller-slap and a nice growl when played fingerstyle. Pictures and video curtiousy of Wombatboter as they are much better than I could take/play. This is a players bass rather than a collecters item and deserves to see some stage action. Looking for £1300 (which is what I paid), can include shipping in UK in that. Not really looking for trades as I'm trying to free up some funds and reduce my collection a bit. 2. I'm not sure how much extra the block inlays were as I didn't get a quote without but they can't of been much as I've seen basic cali TT's going for about the same price as I paid. I think Sandberg prices have gone up since then though as I was quoted higher but session said they could do it at the old prices. Session Musik were great. My only issue with them is that you can't pay by card which was slightly annoying but if you use the postoffice's website you can send money anywhere in the world without any charges. My bank wanted about £30 per transaction which was really annoying as I paid a deposit then balance so there would have been 2 charges. In fact I found it quite hard to get a quote. I contacted about 4 UK suppliers (as per the list on Sandbergs website) via email and they didn't even bother replying. Session came back to me really quickly and gave me prices on a few options as I changed my mind. I even spoke to them on the phone prior to ordering to check everything as they called me to discuss everything and make sure I was happy with the spec. If a tough choice re colour etc. I kept changing my mind but I think you need to go with your gut and stick to that. Worked for me. My toughest choice was whether to get aged or not. Glad I didn't on this one but I definately have a GAS for a hardcore masterpiece one now.
3. The pre amp is great and there isn't really any difference in volume between passive/active, the active mode just sounds better.
Sandberg really seem to have improved upon every aspect of the fender design. Germans, eh
Couldn't agree more and anyone who is thinking about buying a new Fender should consider a Sandberg instead. Even the Pots feel really solid and good quality.
4. Sounds great, punchy, clean but really warm too. Has a great slap tone. I normally prefer passive given the option but this one sounds much better in active mode.
5. By the way, your new bass looks great Sod Facebook buy some shares in Sandberg!
6. I'm with you there Ash, I'm definately selling a bass or two. They are simply not going to be used much now.
7. Cheers Dan, the blue really is an amazing colour, looks much better in the flesh than on the internet. The bass is really amazing to play and sounds really great. I'll get some more pictures added to the sandberg thread ASAP. They blow new Deluxe Fender Jazz basses out of the water and are about £400 cheaper if you buy them from Germany. I should know as I sold one about 3 months ago.
8. Cherry Sunburst with Maple neck for me. Get the white pearl inlays though. Its not gonna cost much extra and they look the business on the maple neck.
9. Thanks TRBboy. I took a bit of a risk with the marley blue as its not a colour I would normally go for and was hard to see what it would turn out like but when I opened up the case I was really really pleased. Its looks great and the maple neck and block inlays go really well too. I would have gone for the roquefort as that colour is cool too but you can only get that on an aged version which I decided against. I'm already considering selling my 76 Fender and placing an order for a hardcore aged version in Roquefort blue though!
10. Okay it arrived yesterday The photo doesn't really do it justice as it was taken on my phone but its looks amazing and sounds even better. Really glad I went for block inlays in the maple neck, they look great. The build quality is really good and the components feel really good quality. Basically I love it. Highly recommended for any Jazz bass fans. Session musik are great to deal with too.
11. Just recieved an email this morning from Session music that my bass has arrived and is ready to ship! Photo's as soon as its arrives.
12. I've got one on order, Cali TT. Should be here in a couple of weeks. I'm really excited. There shouldn't be any import duty as you will have paid VAT when you bought it (so long as the company is in EU), I'm pretty sure there is only duty to pay on stuff purchased outside of the EU.
13. Orbital, Underworld and Chemical Brothers are all worth checking out. There are loads more too but they are good quality electronic music.
14. Simplicity is important for me too. I had a delux Fender Jazz a while ago and there was way too many options on it. Active/passive, 3 eq, active pan etc, I much prefer simpler 2 volumes and pan on my older jazz bass. I'm not so bothered about the neck to be honest. I have enjoy playing my stingray and acoustic when the mood suits and they have much fuller necks. For me it really depends on my mood, like listening to music and I like a bit of variety.
15. I sold Ted an effects pedal, quick payment and pleasure to deal with. Recommended to anyone.
16. Hi from another Salisbury Bcer.
17. Hi Si, Are you selling it on here as I must have missed it.
18. Good price from a trusted seller so not surprised this went quick. Got any jazz basses SI?
19. I had gas for a ric but changed my mind now.

21. I can't see what he's bothered about. Rickenbacker can't make enough basses to keep up with demand as it is so it not as if they really need more business. If you want a ric then you'll buy one if you can afford it. Surely imitations just strengthen the brand awareness as more and more people are exposed to the look and then seek out the real thing. I don't think it did Fender any harm. Perhaps that is why they started the Squire brand though.
22. + 1 to that. I love mine too. Wish this one had been available when I was looking as I had to buy mine from the States.
