Sounds like you need to check the wiring - could be a loose wire from the socket to the speaker. Could even be a dodgy speaker cable.
4. "The Curious Incident" are looking for a bass player. I'm too old to apply - stuff seems interesting, sure it would suit someone here. Dont have any contact details but Im sure with a bit of detective work... Youtube vids here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r30T9osr9v8&feature=relmfu
5. Once again myself and Matt did swapsies - My old Epi Tbird + Cash for my VMJ. Once again flawless transaction (we have agreed to pool our basses, its easier!!) top bloke - If I had a sister I'd let him marry her!
6. Both have the same value pots (they're 250k CTS pots). Yes I could turn up the gain, but seeing as the difference in output is close to that between an Active and Passive, it kind of defeats the object. I'm more concerned that there is an issue with the pickups as the output difference is so noticeable so i want to clear up any other possible problems that could cause the output difference before screaming that the pickups are duff.
7. I have a set each of these. They are in virtualy identical precisions. I've noticed the Thumpers seem to have a much lower output than the Trad's - its really started to bother me now. Have emailed Andy at Wizard but not heard back yet. Am I being a total noob, or should the Thumpers have more "oomph" than the "Trads"? Wondering if its a wiring or earthing issue on my part (both are self builds). It's a shame as I love the darkness of the Thumpers.
8. do your lot ever play "Midnight Cruiser" live? I'd turn up to a gig just to hear it..lol. Has a lot of meaning to me and one of my oldest friends... oh the memories.
9. Is it just me or does the nut width look more like a P?
It Has Fender Mexico Under the Controls, Plus i Went to My Local Guitar Store and Ask about it, these Said Its Mexican and Looks like its 95 Maybe
Blimey.. they fitted the whole factory under there? No wonder Jazz's are so heavy.
11. I've had three metal ones - two solid brass, one chrome plated brass. No issues whatsoever on a P, guess it would be no difference with a MM.
12. Logo looks like it has been applied after painting - you can see the join line where it's sitting proud of the paint surface. You can get those logo's (It's the '70s design) for £20 from a store in the UK.

14. Not tried the CV but own the VM. The VM certainly punches well above its weight. Thinking of parting with mine (it has the VM '77 neck on it with the Pearl block inlays and white binding and the VM '70's natural body so it doesnt look as "OTT" as the standard VM 70's) as I have serious GAS for another Epiphone Thunderbird but I just cant bring meself to do it. Been like this for weeks! Feels quality, sounds quality. Mine...
15.
I love that 4005, Mani has been my bass idol for many years, and I always wanted it, this is as close as i'll get. Thats going nowhere, its probably worth nothing anyway apart from the Ricky parts! how can you not love this, I'm very upset now! ;
Sorry, not a huge Rik fan unless Bruce Foxton is holding it..lol
16.
I know, I'm thinking the same, I'll never be able to replace them. I just need some space. I've only regretted selling one bass, and these will join that list i fear!
Go on, get rid of that stanky Rik instead... would take up the same wallspace as these two.
17. I'd be tempted to sell something else - they are beautiful. If they were mine I'd be lining up to sell a kidney before I parted with them.
18. Pity your board isn't PCI-E - I have an Ati 3870 in the parts pile.
19. have a "would love it but im broke" bump. Unless you fancy a VM Jazz to keep the Pink one company!

21. and theres more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1oA668h6IU After watching that the first time since joining this forum and confirming the mass of talent that is infiniately more versatile and musicaly adept than me, I have actually sat down and said to myself "Dave, you actually are quite a reasonable bass player" I
22. Me Likey. Vaguely similair vein to what I'm trying to get off the ground.
23. I upgraded to a set of Wilkinsons on my Phil Lynott alike bitsa. Didnt think they would fit the headstock due to the large footprint - to be fair the stock tuners are pretty good quality on mine.
24. Just goes to show. I'm sure that there are a lot of cheaper pedals that would do the same job. But you could apply that to Vintage basses to. You're paying more for the "mojo" than the actual items function.
