I've just done 2 gigs with my new Thomann review voucher funded Berry BDI21. Its bloody awesome for the money. My Sandberg/Genz Shuttle9.2/ Barefaced BB2 x 2 gig rig sounds huge. Fat, warm, slamming and with a real lovely tingle up top with a set of new strings. Probably the best £18 bit of kit you'll ever get. Trouble is, its made me want a Sansamp VT Deluxe programmable thingy to play with now...........

SOLD NOW --- HARTKE VXL Bass Attack preamp/di box FOR SALE

[s]For Sale[/s] SOLD Hartke VXL Bass Attack pre amp/di box - i'm sure you know what it is http://www.samsontec...dals/vxlattack/ Its sat in the bag and not getting used so might as well get shot of it.......... Will pop pics up Sunday VGC and no faults I have changed the knobs to ones you can actually see the markers on (unlike the original chrome ones which were bloody impossible to see) Would px for a Tech 21 VT bass pedal (must be mark 2 version with speaker defeat on it) or a VT Bass Deluxe with cash adjustment from me Collection from Herts/Essex border or will post at cost Cheers for looking :-) -
Thanks for that, I think if thats the case then the BDI would probably be the one for me as I can get all the fattness and big sound I want out of my various valve heads and my SWR500. Not suggesting my SWR sounds like a B15 . . . . but I think Rumble Heads are close to the SVT sound ? Shame I can't get an online supplier to send me both rack units so I can try them out and then keep one and return the other ! . . . wouldn't that be an amazing online service !! Cheers,
Try Thomann.......

I believe the VT version is aimed towards the Ampeg SVT and B15 baked in sound and the BDI is a less coloured preamp.

We do it pretty much every weekend - I am blessed with a totally locked in drummer and a proper showman frontman, the groove is nailed and the singer gets the crowd to sing the key change at the end. The rest is pretty straightforward although there are some pretty interesting bass frills under the key change if you listen closely - you can get away with straightening it out a bit there though. Always goes down really well and I love playing it. At the risk of embarrassing myself heres a dodgy recording done in a pub of us playing it - it shows what you can get away with if the crowd are in the mood! https://www.dropbox.com/s/4sxg9vpzq8jnc3g/Living%20on%20a%20Prayer%201.mp3?fb=1 the singer had a chest infection btw.... he's normally a bit better at it We also do Keep the Faith occasionally which is fun too. Hugh McDonald is just a great groove player - when you pull their songs apart you really appreciate his approach.

I wouldnt say my Euro has a fat neck at all - its somewhere between a jazz and precision but closer to a jazz imho. The US ones do have thicker necks front to back, i played a few and the Euro is def slimmer.

Have a "top bloke, buy with confidence" type of bump Mark! I was the previous guardian of this cab - the corner split was there when i bought it and never caused me a problem or spread as far as i could see and i consequently never felt the need to fix it. Its a great cab - light and powerful and a bargain at this price.

Yup, just the scratchplate
Get 50 people to turn up...
That's it - all you need and all the landlord cares about in most cases. 50 people spending a tenner minimum each = £500. Band cost = £250/300. Happy Landlord and repeat bookings :-)

Martin bought my gig bag - top bloke, easy to deal with and swift transaction. Cheers!

Thats exactly why all my basses have Hipshot DeTuners on them now :-)
I am going to London the next two Saturdays (2nd and 9th) to rehearse at Husky studios, if you are able to deliver then I will purchase. Pm me :-)
Sorry CyberBass, i am not in London at the weekends - usually just on Tues, Weds or Fridays depending on work schedule. I could however leave it to be collected at a bike shop at Newington Butts (the Elephant and Castle end) which is a stones throw from Husky Studios. I can drop it in there on Tuesday this week for you to collect at the weekend. I will need paying in advance via paypal ideally.

Rock crowd pleasers with more challenging basslines
Sanctuary, by the Cult, a little mind numbing for the discerning Bassist but usually wins the crowd over.
If that's a challenging bass line I must be playing it wrong! -
There attitude was not rude it was just that I felt brushed off and to me it felt like they did not care they basically say sorry you are not happy please send your strings back to the retailer as you bought from there but it does not answer anything I asked them in my email so I do feel very brushed off
They weren't rude. They offered you a perfectly reasonable and standard solution that would apply pretty much to anything you bought anywhere. Maybe a bit of subtlety got lost in the translation of the communication - remember, it will be a German replying in his second language. Thomann would probably just say they'll send another set anyway if you had followed the standard procedure and contacted them. Its not really worth their while to be shipping £15 items (which cost them about £5) backwards and forwards. You cant be bothered to stick them in an envelope and pop to the post office. And now you're slagging Warwick off on a public forum. Quite disappointing really. I'm out of here.......
