Forgot to mention it's maple facings and mahogany core...
...and forgot to mention that it's got the 18v 3-band eq with mid cut/boost switch similar to an S2. I've owned an S2, and the Empathy's got much more punch, grunt and sustain...
 2.
I know they will... but at the moment there's interest, but a dearth of cash, I fear... time is running out...
YouTube passing 100 views celebration bump...
 3. Sorry... I need to 'thin out the herd' to raise funds for a new rig - if I may suggest going on bended knee to friends/family/cash machines (a necessary evil sometimes) then we can both be happy?...

 5.
Oh my goodness!!! I think that is my very first Sei Bass!!!! It was obviously fretless when I had it made for me back on 1995!! It's a great sounding instrument!!!
Can I arrange a reunion between you and your old bass?? I bet it cost a lot more when it was new....
 6.
At least 5 of those are mine. Nice playing btw. Sorely tempted (now I've gotten over the bridge pup) but I just don't have the floating capital at the moment. Speaking of which, imho you should wait until everyone's wages are in before heading over to evilbay.
On an entirely different matter, I'm an exiled Aberdonian - born in Irvine Place, and brought up in Bon Accord Street... f'like?

 8. ***SOLD*** Sold pending the usual... ***SOLD*** For sale, my Status Empathy 5 headed, made in 2000, bought only a few months ago from the original owner who hardly played it, hence fantastic condition. It has a true thru-neck, all the way to the bridge, which is no longer available from Status. The only tiny blemish is a repaired chip in the lacquer close to the lower edge of the back of the neck at the 12th fret, shown in the photos. A virtually as-new Status embossed Hiscox Liteflight case and a spare set of knobs are included. This bass is a rarity, but I'm having to 'rationalise' my collection to finance a new rig... It's only going to be on BC until next week, then it's off to The Gallery for a commission sale, and it'll cost you more there, so if you're interested I'd urge you to grab it NOW! £1600. No trades please, cash sale only. Dave
 9. Last price drop to £500, then it's off to eBay at the weekend if there are no takers...
 10.
Oh I wish! The worst possible timing. I wonder if it has a twin; the fretless I tried was for sale as such in the Gallery. It seems unlikely that the owner would have had it fretted whilst it was on sale and it went about a week after I played it. This does sound great though, I checked out the clip. Nice!
No, I'm pretty sure it's the same bass - the previous owner (a French guy, IIRC) had it up in The Gallery while it was on eBay, which is where I bought it. It was fretted by that time, but the guy hadn't had the side dot markers moved for some reason. Having been a fretless, they were right on the fret positions, not in between, which did my head in completely, so I had Martin move them! If you liked it that much, you really shouldn't let it get away again - make me an offer... I might say yes!
 11.
I don't get on with Jazzes cos of the skinny neck but woohoo, she's a looker! Prettiest Bass I've seen on here for a long time. She'll make someone's missus very unhappy indeed! Good luck LC
Thanks for your good wishes. My missus is actually very amused by my antics... she said (not for the first time) "Are you selling that already? You've only just bought it!" :-)
 12. Early evening just got home why hasn't anyone made me an offer yet bump...
 13. The previous owner got Martin to make it fretted, and although I'm sure it was a great fretless, it's also a fabulous fretted bass - really easy to play, light, great balance, and a wide palate of sounds. Sure I can't tempt you?!? :-)
 14. For sale is my Sei Original 5-string headless. I'm reliably informed it was made in 1995 for a fellow Basschatter. Serial no. 038, shown in the pic of the bridge. Good condition for its age, with the odd very small dent and ding here and there, but nothing serious, as you can see from the photos. A beautiful example of Martin Petersen's artistry, originally a fretless, but fretted by Martin himself just before I bought it about a year ago, hence no visible fret wear. Light, compact body with great balance, total weight a whisker over 8lbs (about 3.7kg). Can use either double ball ends or standard strings, two sets of locking screws included. Scale length is 34", string spacing at the bridge is a very comfy 19mm. Great tonal variety from an 18v 3-band active eq, plus a 5-position pickup coil selector, everything from single coil jazz tones to a full-blooded Stingray-type sound. Fitted flightcase (quite compact, due to the size of the bass) plus a Ritter heavy duty gig bag (for a guitar, but it fits comfortably) and 4 new sets of 45-126 double ball end strings thrown in. Video uploaded on YouTube of me noodling aimlessly, but at least you can hear what it sounds like! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAhqQQHVrTE FINAL PRICE DROP £1150 (was £1250) (was £1350) no trades please.
 15. VERY pretty bass... if only it was a 5-string... :-(
