1. just had delivered and fitted a set of New Deluxes, which I'm loving, less so the E obv. Now I read this thread, why did nobody warn me?
2. Any acoustic bass (or double bass) players out there? We are a couple of mature guys playing US and UK folky, rootsy, acoustic, old time, type stuff. Mainly instrumental - ceilidh tunes, old time, and so on - but open to any ideas. Happy to hear from anyone who is enthusiastic and prepared to practice. Northern North Yorkshire/South Durham/Cleveland area, but we'll travel for the right person. E-mail: [email protected]

9. I've had a Gibson SG reissue bass for the past couple of years, has needed new nut, bridge p/u and volume pot but it's a great noise and great to play. Those Tokai gibboalikes seem good value but you gotta get a 30" scale, the long scale ones have always looked wrong, even when Gibson tried it in the old days.
10. Now then, There's a one just on Partysounds to fit your bill ref no. 95309 Cheers, SR

12. You have to allocate the input bus on each track to let it see the channel of the sound card / mixer, not obvious in the start up book, better described in the full operation manual. SR
13. I got a red onion AB box between two basses and a three channel Sansamp, it's good, no noise, no tone sucking. SR
14. I've got D'darrio Chromes on a couple of 30" basses including a Gibbo, super smashing. Ordered online from Stringbusters or Strings Direct, not sure exactly which. SR
15. CRY OFF! Apologies all, rehearsal just convened on the Sunday afternoon and in Newcastle so no can get. Have a good 'un SR
16. I've got nylon tape rotosound on my fender BG29, mind it's only 30" scale so tension is no problem. I usually play with a feedback buster and a lump of sponge under the strings by the bridge, a touch of reverb, no horn and an acoustic voice on the Sansamp. All thump and bottom end. Cheers, SR
17.
This is probably a dumb question, but are there any cheap, commercially available A/B switch boxes to speed up my changing instruments half way though a set?
Try Red Onion Red Onion Cheers SR

I have a load of old Portastudio tapes that are 20 years old and I'd love to hear them again but don't have the machine to do so.. If the postage cost weren't too unreasonable then I'd be keen to take this off your hands.. Cheers Nik
Nik, It's approx £7, so what do you reckon? SR
