2.
Jesus, there's a day left and this Hondo is at £410!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-1970s-Hondo-...=item336289e363 I was toying with the idea of keeping my £106 Hondo from Hell when I'd sorted it out but I can't turn my nose up at £300 plus for one on the bay. This is in great condition but bloody hell, I'd expect a top faker for that price.
woah 500 pounds, do people know these are made outta ply and are terrible?

    Muffs and Spiders

thought this was a topic about my ex ;o big spider is based on the super fuzz circuit do you have a clip of the sound you're after? both the pedals you listed are pretty fuzzy to
  4.
Hmm, nice one man, I was wondering about using a Rat, but again, not heard of any bassist using one, don't know anyone who's got one that would be willing to lend it out either! Could you (or he) let me know how it goes?
Rat would be my first instict aswell, check out pelican, there bassist uses a rat on the heavier bits. Make sure you get an older one though, the new ones sound a bit pants
  5. clean up the power supply!
  6. why didn't you do a seperate volume for the clean?
  7.
Noooo!! Not until someone designs an amp tech who can fix my Yamaha
whats wrong with it?
  8. as to power amp depends how much you wanna spend essentially just go for the most powerful / lightest and reliable you can afford
  9. SMPS, Class D amplifiers, neo magnets etc etc. are all things that have taken off recently. Can't really think of anything really revolutionary thats happened in guitar etc. recently thats taken off, most muscians seem to be sceptical of anything new.
  10.
The fret work would be the ultra-scary bit for me. How did you get on with it?
found fret work alot easier than i thought it'd be. Essentially involves flatting them to the same height then reapplying a curve and smoothing them out etc. if you take up this course be prepared to do epic amounts of sanding ;o
  11.
Is it a mega doom fuzz?
it can do that but you can choose from clean boost to over the top fuzzzzzzzzzz, i use it as a mild overdrive at the minute
  12. i had very limited wood working skills prior to the course, the most i'd done was stuff at school and gluing some cabs together. spent today doing buffing and finishing off the frets After i did that i put some oil on the fretboard, it's pretty good how well the board matches the colour of the body! Still more buffing to go though to get all the scratches out!
  13.
Curious about doing finishing before pickup routing.
Yeah john thought it'd be okay because otherwise course would have to be on hold till the darkstars arrive which could be a fairly long time.
  14. dude come try out my pedal and tell me what you think
  15. right so i maybe took a little longer getting photos up than i thought i would ;p Pre final coat of laquer after final coat of laquer and before final flatting etc. doing some fret work
  16.
I've farted out 8x10s. They don't like lows. Lesson is: Never use one 8x10.
8X10's are doom unless you have 3 or 4 of them
  17.
Get it biased again and checked out, might just be the bias has gradually drifted and doesn't quite sound the same any more.
+1 maybe even go use some ashdown combos or something and go back to it and fall in love again ;o
  18.
Right, so i've got this line 6 amp. It's not a bad amp, by any means. But since i bought it as a kid, my experience has gone up and i know what i'm doing a little more. SO what i wanted to ask was this. Do any of you guys know how i could get a good sharp tone out a line 6 amp, it's a lowdown 150. I'm a musicman player, and i like a lot of treble and bass in my sound, but i hate the 'compressed' sound you get if the mids are too high. I'm a prog player, and want something to stand out from the riffs etc, until i can afford my ampeg or GK! Thanks guys!
turn the mids down?
  19. these havn't been doing to well at the moment, i've seen them go for around 350 - 600 on ebay. You're not gonna get the same kinda valve power for that kinda money.
  20. last few i saw were 250 - 400, that was a while ago though
  21.
Good stuff! I don't really like her voice that much though. Good though!
same, great player and groove though
