  1. Maybe, somewhere in a parallel universe, this is a viable option.
  2. Lucky Man - Greg Lake (ELP)

  8. Paul Denman certainly influenced me with his playing for Sade. I got a Stingray which I'll never sell because I loved the sounds he got out of his. I also really liked his 'less is more' approach to slap rather than the popular trend to smother whole tracks and even albums with it. He somehow managed to play in an understated way that would really grab your attention.
  9. Probably been mentioned before but no harm in mentioning again, Bob Babbitt. So often overlooked with James Jamerson hogging the limelight, but BB came up with some fabulous bass lines like Mercy, Mercy Me for Marvin Gaye.

  23. A bit out of left field this one but a bassline that really caught my attention back in 1976. Later found out it was Chuck Rainey so no wonder it's a groove monster. Takes a while to build up but then really hits the sweet spot. Cracking album by the way.
  24. Little Red Corvette - Squiggle (formerly known as Prince)
  25. Master Blaster - Stevie Wonder
