Please ignore the trade price I can't alter it. Hi Guys. I am selling a very rare ELK Viking 55 bass amp made in Tokyo, Japan. I have spend £75.00 already on some new inner parts. It does work, however it has developed a loud hum. I don't have the time or inclination to get it repaired and I already have another amp so I have decided to let it go cheap. I have been told it could be an early 60's model but I personally believe it to be an early 70's model. The casing is in superb condition for it's age. I have replaced 4 rear screws and the 4 chassis screws. I'm not sure of the weight as I don't have any scales but it's not heavy at all. It has a standby switch although it's actually a solid state model. I am told that it requires 8 ohms speakers, although I used 4. Dimentions: Height 165 X Length 535 x Depth 245 approx or Height 6.5 inch X Length 21 inch X Depth 10 inch approx Front panel (left side): 2 imputs, Volume, Bass, Treble Bright (on and off switch) Front panel (right side): 2 imputs, Volume, Bass, Treble, Bright (on and off switch), Presence - Standy, Power switches and Pilot light. Rear panel: AC out, Ground switch (off/on), AC Fuse 2 X fuses 2 X speaker imputs, Line out. SOLD AS A FAULTY ITEM. SPARES OR REPAIRS ONLY, NO RETURNS. Selling price is a paltry [s]£100.00[/s] [s]£70.00[/s] now only £50.00 !!! I can ship this in the UK for just £10.00 (UPS), usually next day delivery. Anywhere else I can get a quote on request but it will probably with another carrier. Sorry i'm not interested in swops, P/X etc......I would prefer cash on collection, or bank transfer. I am based in Strelley, Nottingham just 5 minutes from junction 26, M1. Please PM me if you are interested. Thanks Tony C. I don't use a back up, no room in the car for a start! My Rickenbacker has never let me down in 8 years anyway. I always have a used full set of strings in my gig bag although i've never broke a bass string yet. I do have a spare bass though, a Fender Jazz.

A guitarist friend of mine, myself and a great local singer are putting together a 4 piece rock/metal (not blues) covers band (as two of us play in bands already but we both wish to play some more gigs). We are currently looking for a capable rock/metal drummer - (sorry but NO beginners please). We intend on playing gigs around the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire areas as soon as possible. You must have your own gear and transport. It's probably suited to someone already in a band but wishing to gig a bit more......like ourselves. Our current bands will NOT be affected. The songs we intend to play are known songs in the rock/metal world, but not necessarily what most cover bands seem to be playing right now. Anyone who is genuinely interested or perhaps knows of someone, please send me a personal message on here and i'll send you more details and info, and some songs that we intend to play. To give you an idea, it will be songs by the likes of, Dio, Sabbath, Blizzard Of Ozz, Scorpions, Megadeth, etc...... I'm sure you get the idea! The rehearsal room is in the Langley Mill area (Nottingham). Cheers! Tony C.

'74/'75 Fender Jazz, thoughts?
clarkpegasus4001 replied to jimbobothy's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Yikes, I was only just over a grand short in my bidding effort !!
Somewhat way off my friend! It actually ended where i'd left it at £1851.00, quite a sum considering he wouldn't take it apart -
Looks like the real deal. The real bidders will be holding out for a last minute plunge. I reckon it will go for £1500 or thereabouts.
I tend to agree, although it sounds like it needs a setup and fret work. One thing I don't understand though......The seller say's that there is no neck stamp? yet he hasn't checked the pots or pick ups because he don't want to take it apart it sounds great the way it is. So how does he know the neck has no stamp? just curious. It's not as in good nick as my 1974! -
I saw them a few weeks ago, that album was for sale... Wish I'd bought a copy now, could have got it signed! I'm intrigued to hear Argus played on a Rick...
Well when he rang me to ask to borrow my bass, he said he wanted to "create the same kind of sound as he got on Argus" so I assumed he meant he played a Rick on that album? His own Rick was trashed on an aircraft during a tour. He has a black 4000 model which he has had converted to a 4001 (extra pick -up added etc....), but he likes the sound and feel of my bass so he used it for the album, hence the thanks to Tony Clark on the sleeve notes. The album is ok, the production could have been a bit better T.B.H.
