1.
I spent most of last night re-doing the vocal. With copious application of ReaTune, it sounds a little better in places. Thanks for the encouragement, although I would beg to disagree with lurksalot - it is my voice that is a touch toneless. . . . because it certainly sounds like it to my ears! So here it is, no mystery, no reason for your curiosity to be piqued Dad3353, it's just a song, and I couldn't have your lack of sleep on my conscience https://soundcloud.com/torturedsaints/and-so-it-comes-to-this A slightly sideways interpretation of the photo, it has to be said, but partially explained on the soundcloud page.
That was beautiful. I rarely play a song the whole way through on first listen. I usually listen to the intro skip to chorus etc etc so I can get a feel for the composition and when casting my vote I return and have a more in depth listen from a critical PoV. This however I listened to from start to finish. It's got soul baby. It's honest and raw and I loved it. It's got one of my votes so far.
 2.
Steve Reich meets King Crimson https://soundcloud.com/robert-palmer-1/the-daughter-didnt-oughta
If Peter Gabriel wrote a tumultuous piece about a holiday in the carribean I bet it would sound exactly like this. Well done that man.
 3.
Vain (and/or deluded...) as I am, I'll take that as a compliment..! Cheers...
A compliment indeed. Well done. I love it.
 4.
Here we go then, folks, try this for size... Pachelbel Passion ... Enjoy.
Interesting take.
 5.
First! https://soundcloud.com/robotrobotrobotmusic/to-and-fro
Awesome..... Love it.
 6.
Yeah, yeah. He's brilliant. NOW WHERE IS THE NEXT PICTURE?!!
The picture is with Skol. He should post it soon. It's not the typical type of picture people might chose but hopefully it will get the creative juices flowing. It's a picture everyone can relate to.
 7.
Yeah, yeah. He's brilliant. NOW WHERE IS THE NEXT PICTURE?!!
lol
 8. Thank you guys, I'm delighted. I'll post Skol a pic some time this morning. There were some lovely entries this month so well done to all. Yeeehaaaa.......
 9. The older ones are "made in.... The newer ones are "crafted in.... I believe that as the quality dropped (relative to the original mij) fender tried to raise the prestige and remind people that these guitars were superior craftsmanship, and hence the started using "crafted" instead of "made".
 10.
Or to MEEEEEEEEE!
Lol.....
 11.
But are some voting only twice, then..? How does that stack up..?
15 people voted, but there's only 40 votes. It doesn't add up. Maybe 10 used 3 votes and 5 used 2 votes.
 12. Working off my phone so can't leave comments/like on soundcloud but I will do that later at home.
 13. Voted..... Not an easy choice. Really good and diverse entries this month.
 14.
A very posed acoustic guitar meters out calm arpeggios; nothing prepares us for the explosion of powerful vocals and solid backdrop of bass and drums. We’re firmly in ‘The Doors, Jim Morrison at his best’ territory; the vocals take complete command of the sound stage and compel attention with mastery. A sense of catastrophe, of cataclysm, tragedy, and despair permeate the proceedings. The rhetorical question in the lyrics remains, of course, unanswered as the music fades away. The ghostly reproach remains, echoing between our ears. A brilliant work for which I can find absolutely nothing to say that’s not praise and congratulation. Perfect execution of all instruments, beautifully arranged and mixed, effective composition. The vocals take me aback with their authority, power, majesty. Awesome. Not much to add; we have had very many tracks over the course of this Challenge; this one is, to me, the most striking. That is all. Full marks is not enough. The boy sings.
Thank you Douglas, I have a lump in my throat. What kind words. I've been on a short break with the clan. No phones or computers so I've been out of the loop. I've yet to vote but I will tonight. Two had caught my attention before I went away so hopefully picking three shouldn't be too much of a challenge.
 15. Im not around much this month but I was compelled to submit an entry after reading up on the fight at the Corral. This entry is focused on the Clanton brothers and the emotional aftermath of the battle. Its very rough and edgy with very little time given to it but I really like it and hope to finish it properly in the future if I get around to it. please enjoy. https://soundcloud.com/theboysings/run-ike-run-clanton-boys
 16.
He probably assumed that, if you could only give him half an hour, you weren't very interested. It would take him ten minutes to set up and then you'd be showing him the door after twenty minutes of noodling. Try to see it from his perspective.
Very much this. If I was invited to audition with restrictions etc.., I'm not sure I'd act much differently. Did you ask him where his guitar was. It may have been in the Car.
 17. Cool. I'll get some details later off the speakers and post some more info when I get home.
 18. Hi guys ive got an old set of 80 watts hi fi speakers at home that I want to use again. They are 8ohms. It's a pair of speakers. Each has a speaker and a tweeter. What size amp would you recommend for bedt sound. I tried them with a 30watt amp I've got here but they are really distorted. Any hifi buffs out there.
 19. I feel a bit like those donkeys. I'm not very motivated. Perhaps my song will have to be exactly that, not very motivated. Dustys trails....
 20.
Many thanks, on both counts, hopefully we'll have you back on board for next month
Hopefully.
 21.
Wow , lowdown's track is just awesome , a beautiful piece that works brilliantly with the theme, I think you can get a picture ready for next months challenge Garry I will hang on to my photo for now
Your own compo wasn't too shabby either. Love the new avatar.
 22. Having read through the Bowie tribute thread it reminded me of how much I can't stand the song "Ziggy stardust". Initially I loved it and fought hard to have it in a set list many years ago. However many bands and many gigs later it has become my pet hate and under no circumstances can I even listen to it nowadays and the thought of performing it sends me into a blind panic. Anybody else feel similar about any song on their set list? Or am I simply odd?
 23.
It is. You have to love a set that has such an easy home straight. I kind of have to pay attention during The Jean Genie to get the nail the gaps as it's the same riff over and over, but Ziggy is so easy to play and such a fun line that I'll never get bored with it. Same goes for Suffragette City. Simple, brilliant and effective. Can't wait :-)
Never get bored of Ziggy stardust. I give you a couple of months and I'll come back to you. I love all things Bowie and having done various covers of Bowie over the years the one song that nauseates me more than any other is Ziggy... If it comes on the radio I have to change stations. The guitar riff feels like a bears claw being dragged over my exposed spine. I hope the song never has this affect on you but I will be very surprised Id you never get bored of it. Good luck tonight you have an awesome set, Ziggy included.
