1. I reckon the price is about right - normal eBay price is 250-300, but that's for the more common finishes. Black with a rosewood board is quite sought-after and pretty rare. There are people out there who claim there's a difference between the blade and non-blade T40 pickups, which might affect the value. Some T-40 trivia - according to the manual, the humbuckers in a T-40 are tapped to be single coils by the tone control. With tone at 10 they are single coil, then as you get below 7 they become humbuckers. I always wondered why they sounded so single coil-y.
2.
I recommend Greg at Guitar Aid, Putney Bridge. Fast, well priced, very competent and a lovely guy too! www.guitaraid.co.uk
+1 top chap. And very near a tube station, which helps A LOT!
3.
Can't go wrong with that price, folks.
Quite right ;-)
4. This is so beautiful with the rosewood... http://www.preloved.co.uk/fuseaction-adver...6/f73517db.html
5.
Except House coz he's real. Isn't he? I meant there just has to be a city in America where they see bubonic plague and Lupus on a daily basis. Actually I do like House.
I've never seen House, but my Mum reckons I'm just like him. Is that good or bad?
6. Hey Foxen, Sounds good - I'll pass the offer on. I've posted a few pedals to that flat, I think. And Joe has one of my old basses. Only problem is that this kid's a lefty - there just aren't as many bargains out there!
7.
I don't suppose you took a picture of the bit that you move to adjust the voltage for anyone else who is looking into getting one early?
No need for a photo - it's labelled on the board. There's a jumper in a holder labelled '110V', so you move it to the one labelled '220V'. Steve
8. Hello to the South-West, I have a friend who is about to start on the bass. He's 16, and has never played before. Do you have any advice on where he could get good customer service and help in or near Bristol? I guess he needs a shop with a good selection of starters and used basses, who are going to hold his hand a bit, and make sure that whatever he buys is properly set up. So stock of Musicmans, boutique brands etc etc doesn't really come into the question - it's all about the hand-holding. Any suggestions?
9. They are amazing. Mine is gigging for the first time next week.
10.
as much as i try i just can't ignore the name on the headstock lol. lets face it. half of the reason for buying this bass is so that i dont have to wear something that says 'squire' on it around my neck
You could just sand the name off? There are quite a few people here with re-bagded Fender copies of various types...
11.

Duel in the Deep is February 10th, Matt fans! Run, Walk with Songs From The Shows and 2 more TBC.
12. Trem sold. Worm pics to follow tonight.
13. I've realised that there are a few old threads here of mine with the odd pedal left in, and rather than bump them all, I thought I'd consolidate. Also some new stuff to add. More pedals added 17/12 DOD Octoplus £35 posted Co-Pilot Android Ring Modulator. 4-knob version. £65 posted.
14.
maybe 'built to green specs', but sure dont sound like one!
Just out of interest, BMK, have you tried black muffs from every year of manufacture? I only ask because the spec has changed fairly regularly, as far as I can tell, and only the ones made in the last year or two before they stopped are green spec. And did you blind ABX them against a green one?
15. Where's the Old Queens Head?
16. My Big Muff isn't dead - but it does have life-support in the shape of a three-way tone stack, a variable gate, a diode-removing switch, a feedback switch, a 9V in and true bypass. It works hard.
17. I use mine mainly on vocals too. Too subtle for my bass style.
18. I like to point out that there is a massive surplus of guitarists and a shortage of good bass players. In short - they can be easily replaced, and I can't. Failing that I charm their girlfriends, using all the social skills I developed out on the town while they were in their bedrooms alone practising speed metal licks.
19. Envelope Filter gone to a good home. Octoplus still here.
20. I think I'm allergic - so I use stainless steel strings. Also, they sound better. IMO.
21. I get this sometimes. Leave a little longer between songs and relax your picking hand. A good time to get that stage banter going...
22. It also matters what kind of black russian muff you buy - the later ones were built to green specs, supposedly. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=571634
23.
Well the thing doesn't look too shoddy inside:
Is it me, or is this a transformer, with a free bass amp attached? ;-)
24. The Belcat Delay is surprisingly good, too. I also used to have the Biyang fuzz pedal - it's basically a Big Muff with some interesting clipping mods - you can change one pair of diodes for LEDs with a switch. They're mostly made with surface mount components, but then so are the new EHX pedals... Only really matters if you want to mod them.
25. Hamster is the king dealmaker. Buy this now.
