1. BUMP Happy to trade for interesting basses or (gulp) g**tars
2. BUMP. Multimeter says it's 8 ohms.
3. I'd be happy to take a DarkStar or two off your hands.
4. This high: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dangerboycrea...57607675039424/ I'm glad that this thread has reminded me that I need to get some more X-long straps.
5. Sorry - SOLD! But postage delayed due to weather...
6. The Union's in London, so I guess there's been a transaction or two already. If this is the same amp.
7.
Got any close up pics of your one?
I'm sure I have somewhere from the time I sold it, but can't find them. I found an email where I noted that it's a 98 serial number, but that's all.
8. Do you just want a drilled Hammond case? I'd go for http://www.pedalpartsplus.com/ or someone like that.
9. Is anyone bidding on this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gallien-Krueger-1000...A1%7C240%3A1318 It looks suspiciously like the one that I sold to the Student Union at work late last year, which was stolen a couple of weeks ago. That was housed in a bent-out-of-shape 4U black SKB case too. I just wish I'd kept the serial number. All may well be a coincidence - but I haven't seen this model type on eBay in ages, and now all of this happens at once...
10. I've just picked up a lovely Epi Thunderbord from eBay. It looks great, and it's comfortable to play around your knees (as I do). I really hate the sound, though. It's really unfocussed and lacking in top-end. So I thought I might put some single coil pickups in and see what happens. Has anyone ever tried this? Which pups might be best?
11. You all know what this is, right? More details and photos tomorrow. In original box with all manuals etc. Used once - not my cup of tea. 75 quid posted to the UK.
12.
This is yet another of those "if this [insert item here] were [insert what this item is not] instead, I'd defiantely be interested" posts. Here goes... If this cab were 8 Ohm instead of 4, I'd definately be intested. Buy from dangerboy with confidence, he's one of the good guys. Good choice on the replacement, BTW, those cabs are heavy as fook but you just can't get much better. Have a bump on me.
Funny you should say that. I got curious, so I had a look at the driver. It says that it's 8 ohm. I thought the idea of a 4ohm 1x15 was a bit silly... And there's so little info out there on SECO no-one thought to check... Exact text: 'Z08201 8 (omega symbol) 20403'
13. BUMP!
14. I just sold Col a Westone. Lovely guy, and a pleasure to deal with.
15.
No probs, it's a good site that. And sorry for the hijack dangerboy, FWIW it's a nice bass, i've always wanted a westone thunder at some point.
No problem at all. You can't have this one, it's ON HOLD.
16. Cheers Hamster! Danny - Mesa Boogie Diesel with the EV in. Because I am a total Shellac fanboy.
17. Continuing the clearout of everything that isn't an Ovation Magnum... My Westone Thuder II, in 'Onyx' finish. 25 years old, and not looking its age at all. 32 1/4" scale. Maple body. Set neck. Beautifully subtle metallic finish. You can find out all about it here: http://www.westone.info/cats/83/p9.html Everything is original, as far as I can tell, apart from the switch tip. This bass has interesting tone possibilities - it's passive, but has a bass/treble control for each pickup, based on duel potentiometers. All the fun of an active without worrying about a battery! Comes with the original Westone hard case, which is in OK nick but not immaculate. Looking for 160 picked up or 180 posted. I'm in London.
18. I've just secured the 15" cab of my dreams, so it's time for this bad body to hit the street. I bought this from Hamster a few months ago. It's light, it's articulate, and it's very very loud. It has a 15" neodymium woofer and a switchable tweeter. SECO is Tecamp's cheaper range. Even so, given the current exchange rate one of these would set you back more than 300 quid (389 Euros). Hamster significantly improved the sound with some clever damping inside. This comes with a fitted, padded cover, and can be yours for £150. I'm in London, if you fancy picking it up. Pics/dimensions etc to follow. I can't find the original link! EDIT - I've spoken to Thomas Eich of TecAmp, and this is DEFINITELY an 8ohm cab.
19. I'm really intrigued by the non-LF version. I am dreaming of that in a 12" Mesa Thiele cab...

I just sold Will a cute little short-scale bass. And it was a pleasure!
21. I might know someone perfect for you. And it's not me! Whereabouts are you guys based?
22.
In general hollow body basses have a woolly, plummy sound due to the cavity resonance, I haven't heard of any exceptions to this. You get less note definition and more boomy, fuzzy, lumpy, sixties tone.
I think I can claim an exception. My hollowbody is defined, bright and aggressive, but still with a full resonant tone underneath. But then it's 34" scale and made of aluminium...
23.
I don't know much about Marshall gear -- but I thought they only made 4x12s for bass. Are these ones guitar cabs or did they previously make 4x10s? I wondered, since Severin mentioned there could be 15s in storage too, if he'd bi-amped. Cheers Mark
800RBs are made to bi-amp out of the box, so it's a distinct possibility. Now if they'd been GK cabs, I would have been all over it...
24. I ain't selling mine. This amp is amazing. No chance I'd want the new one. I hate the sound of tubes.
25. I chickened out... I'm having enough problems selling one 4x10, let alone 4.
